Last night the cable broke off on my garage door and I forcibly tried to close the door, which was not very smart. The whole left side of the door came off the track and half the door was coming off. It was very scary and dangerous. The first thing I did was call Five Star and left them a message because it was after hours. They called me back first thing in the morning and came out a hour later. A very nice knowledgeable man came out and replaced the tracks, cables, hinges and put everything back together. The price was very reasonable and I couldnt have been more pleased. The reason I called them and only them was because I have been using them for many years and every time I been very satisfied with their work and price. I dont usually write reviews because I dont have time but when it comes to 5 star doors, Im compelled. If you dont have the money to have your garage door fixed, save it and when you do, call NO ONE ELSE but these guys. They came out 5 years ago to address an emergency I had and they were spot on with their customer service, technical skill and clean up to my garage issue. They left such a positive impression on me that 5 years later (today) I called them back to switch out my overhead opener for a side opener and Rob, who was the technician, was absolutely flawless with his knowledge, skill, craftsmanship and Professionalism. It wasnt just the opener being installed, it was also a new bottom seal for both my garage doors along with adding brand new Threshold seals to eliminate a very bad water intrusion problem I was having. After setting everything up, Rob took the time and carefully showed me all I needed to know on how to operate my new door correctly. But heres the best part, after he left my home (about 3 hours had past and the work day had already ended) I had a problem and called him to see if he could come back the next day to take a look at my concern. Not only did he answer the phone, Rob came back to my home that evening and eliminated the issue ! In todays world, who provides customer service and dedication like that !! Five stars for Five Star Doors! I called at 8:15am about a broken spring on my garage door. They had the springs replaced by 11:30am! The two people I talked to on the phone and Tyler, the repairman, were very friendly and professional. And they gave me a discount without even asking and another discount for paying cash. Speedy repair, great work and a good price - would definitely recommend!

Can never be a 5 star. Have tried to call for about 4 months now leaving messages with no return. Live in a condo so probably either have to go with them or dont want to go searching around for the same garage door type. Offered to stop by same day, replaces a few parts in my garage in less than an hour. What I loved is that they shared tiered pricing (after taxes and labor) so I didnt remotely feel slighted and knew all options on the table. Obviously I hope I dont need their business again but would recommend them in a heart beat.

After having another local company NO Show/No Call two days in a row, I called 5 star. Gentleman I spoke with was very professional and quoted me a price lower than NO SHOW company. Shane called shortly after 8:30 to provide a time between 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. Shortly after 10, Shane called to advise he was on his way and would arrive in approximately 15 minutes. Once he arrived, the situation was assessed and provided cost. The price was reasonable so I decided to change springs as well to be proactive. Once service was complete, we walked through maintenance routine. Shane was professional, friendly and answered all question. The job was complete by 11:30 a.m. I am a happy customer. They also had 1 I was looking at in stock and they where able to come out the next day for install. The Service Tech Robert was a pleasure to work with, showing me how the new opener worked and how to do some additional programming to it, He did any excellent job wiring and even did some quick maintenance to the garage door itself. The previous company that replaced our springs gave lifetime warranty on the springs, so I was trying to get them back to fix it again this time. However, I couldnt get a hold of them and we couldnt wait. We found Five Star online and were able to talk to an actual helpful person right away. They scheduled it for us for the same day afternoon - within a two hour window! Then they called shortly after and gave us an opportunity to pull it up! This is refreshing in todays world, unfortunately.The technician Andrew, was on time, friendly, respectful and very knowledgeable. Being an engineer myself, I appreciated the inside knowledge he shared. The work was done swiftly and cleanly. It was not cheap compared to the one I had before with free lifetime parts, but I was convinced that it is a more appropriate part and will last longer. Well see in 5 years. At least they took care of it for me in record time, and its the Saturday before Christmas. You cant possibly complain about such services. Just for comparison, at the time of writing this review, I havent got a call back from my original contractor yet :)

Spring broke late Friday night, called and left a message and they called back the next morning and worked me in to a Saturday afternoon appointment. Tech who came out (Robert) was super courteous, quick, and efficient. Explained all work performed and what we should expect for life of new springs, etc. 5* Installed our door originally and it has been operating to expectation and their service then and now reinforce to me that theyre a quality operation.

I called on a Saturday after 2pm. I was hoping they’d be able to come fix my garage door the same day, but wasn’t hopeful as it was after business hours. When they answered the phone they told me that they’d be to my house within the hour. That was great news. Not only were they here within the hour, they had my cables and brackets fixed on my garage door and they even explained proper maintenance. The service technician, Tyler, was friendly and professional. I would use Five Star Door again if my garage door were to break.

Five Star Doors came out to our home and replaced our broken torsion springs and installed a new belt motor. Andrew was great to deal with on the phone and Shane was extremely knowledgeable and professional. They made them in their shop and had them at my house in less than an hour. Garage door wouldnt open. I called 5 Star Doors and received an immediate answer and had service within hour. Called for service at about 8:45 am and repairs completed by 10:00 am. Tim came out, explained coil snapped and cables rusted. Replaced both coils and cables. Tim showed me how to maintain coils with 3 in 1 lubricant and then covered the included service/parts warranty.Excellent service!!!! Definitely use again. Best garage door service ever had and at best price. All the excellent reviews are true, so glad I called. Thank you Tim!

Ive never had the pleasure of doing business with these fine people but I came in with my inoperable garage door opener, fully expecting to pay $40+ for a new one. Instead, they searched around and found a good used one. Then they took the time and patiently showed me how to program it to my opener at home. And now, everything works just fine. Cost to me - $Zero. I can say without a doubt, when my garage door finally dies, I will hires 5 Star in a heartbeat - and would recommend them to anyone I know. 5 Star deserves all 5 stars. The tech (Mike) was great, they did exactly what they said they were going to do, and the price was very reasonable. I didnt need same day service for my broken spring, but they did offer it. While I declined same day service, they set my appointment for the next day! I can’t recommend this business enough. We had a minor problem with our opener, and called them Saturday morning. They took our information, quoted a price, and stated someone would come between 1 and 3 pm. We got a call from the service tech that he was ten minutes away. He arrived exactly on time, was knowledgeable about the problem, and fixed it promptly. He also lubed and cleaned the door components, and tightened the chain. He was polite and professional. If you have a garage door problem, call these people.

I do all my handyman work when possible, but I know garage springs can be dangerous so I left it to the professionals on this one.

Their name is 5 star for a reason. I had a jack-shaft opener installed and the install was well done. Due to the original install of the door from another company, changes had to be made (other company put up a reverse wound shaft with an outside cable).Robert was the installer had to build it out to get it in, and did not charge anymore than the original quote. I had quite a few questions before going with this operator and Andrew from tech support explained everything before the install was scheduled. If you want great service and fair pricing this is the place. Highly recommended.

I called this company for garage door repair. I spoke with someone who told me that they only could come out during 8-5. I explained that I worked during the day and could they accommodate me according to my work schedule. The gentleman told me if they did they would charge me the emergency rate. I ended up calling another company nearby and they not only accommodated my work hours but did not charge me an emergency rate. The difference between the two companies was night and day. I will be recommending the competitor to all my friends, families and co-workers. This company was not accommodating at all. I was so disappointed with them. I put one star because it wouldnt let me post it without any stars.

My wife woke me at 7:45 AM on a Saturday morning to tell me the garage door had fallen off the tracks. I stumbled downstairs still half asleep to assess the situation. I am so glad I decided to choose this company to fix my garage door. The spring had broken on it and I had called around to get a few quotes. This company was a little bit more money than others at $219, but when I talked to them on the phone the level of professionalism and knowledge made me choose them. They arrived within just a few hours of me calling and he had it fixed in under 45 minutes. If we have any other issues with our door, well definitely be getting ahold of them again. FIVE STARS FOR FIVE STAR DOORS!!! I ran into my door, knocking the roller off the track, and I thought I would be stranded with my kids all Spring Break. I called 5 Star Doors and Tim came first thing in the morning. He was extremely nice and very professional, and he was able to fix my door in less than an hour! I am so happy with the service!

Shane from Five Star Doors came today as per the schedule looked at the broken torsion spring and said it is (108 labor 110 parts - 55 for each spring) 218 as I was told while scheduling it. He also found couple of other issues in my garage door (2 car garage steel door) and asked me if I need them to be fixed ($78 more - 2 workout hinges and 16 foot strut). It was reasonable and I asked him to go ahead. He got everything done in less than 30 mins and he also suggested he will fit the light bulbs in if I have them (that is a bonus).Overall, I would say that it was a very profession repair service by Shane for a reasonable price.By the way I live in Canton, MI

At approximately 9:00 a.m. I closed the garage door and 1 of the torsion springs broke. I did a search on Angies list and found Five Star Doors with the best overall rating, so I gave them a call. They gave me an estimate over the phone and said they could be at my house at about 11:00 am. Brian & Bruce arrived at 10:45 a.m. and they had the door fixed by Noon for the price quoted. Very professional and courteous, extremely pleased with there workI would definitively recommend Five Star Doors!

Very satisfied with the excellent customer service, professionalism and expertise provided by this company. My garage door is original to a 1935 house, weighs about 365 lbs., non-standard in size and yet is a perfect fit aesthetically for my home. Rather than try to sell me a new, lesser quality door along with a new frame and opener, they suggested retaining the old door and opener and simply replacing the cable, springs and pulley system that was not able to pull the weight of the door.I had another garage door company out a few years ago that put in those same cable, springs and pulleys for a little under the price of what 5-Star proposed. After trying to limit my use of the garage door for several months to preserve the cables and pulley, I now have a garage door that works like a brand new one and is quieter and faster than it has ever been over the last 16 years.Many thanks to Shane and his assistant who both did a fantastic job!

My garage door would only open about 6. I did a google search and thats how I found 5 star door. Tim came out the day after I called and was able to fix the broken spring in about 40 minutes. The price was fair and the service from Tim was fantastic.

I had a spring break on a Friday night, I left them a message and they had a tech (Mike) out to fix it on Saturday morning. It took him under 45 minutes and the price was right. Mike showed me what was wrong, explained what he fixed, and had the job done quickly. Everything was great, they were fast and courteous and delivered the service in the time I needed.I would definitely call them again for any future issues.Thanks!

Zero stars for 5 Star Garage Doors. (I was forced to give 1 star in order to post!) Saturday May 21st I called 5 Star and made an appointment for the following Saturday, May 28. Unfortunately no one ever showed up to my home, and I didnt receive a phone call explaining what was happening. I waited for hours, and Im sadly disappointed in their lack of concern and procedures on taking care of customers. After having my day wasted by 5 Star Garage Doors, I will definitely not give them my business or recommend them to others. (Today, Sunday May 29th, I was actually able to talk to another garage door company and schedule an appointment. I called expecting to get an answering machine, but the owner answered while on his way back from a family gathering. Good business move!) My suggestion is not to bother with 5 Star Garage Doors. Apparently they werent interested in putting in a new garage door and opener.

We called Five Star on a Saturday morning, and the technician, Shane, arrived ahead of schedule. He took only 40 minutes to replace our broken door spring, and we didnt have to move as many things out of the way as expected -- very pleased with the whole experience!

Called this morning to schedule programming repair on my opener and keypad after several attempts to fix myself. They said I could come out and buy a new opener. Then tried to tell me how to fix it. Tried that, its not working. No offer to schedule service - that was the end of the call! Dont you want my business?Unimpressed . Called Garage Door Pros and they were here within an hour!

MY EXPERIENCE WAS 5 STAR WITH 5 STAR DOORS. I CONTACTED THEM WHILE AT WORK AND ADVISED THEM WHEN I WOULD BE HOME THEY WERE ABLE TO COME OUT RIGHT AWAY THE SAME DAY... THEY WERE VERY PROMPT AND ON TIME. THE SERVICE TECH. WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL COURTEOUS, HE CONDUCTED HIS INSPECTION AND THERE WERE NO EXTRA OR HIDDEN CHARGES. MY DOOR WERE FIXED WITH NEW SPRINGS WITHIN AN HOUR.. HE EXPLAINED EVERYTHING THOROUGHLY WAS VERY VERY REASONABLY PRICED, HE ALSO EDUCATED ME ON HOW TO PROPERLY OIL SPRINGS ON MY DOORS AND WAS VERY EFFICIENT. MORE THAN SATISFIED. The Service Technician, Shane, just left, and I could not be happier with his work. Usually, I am an avid DIYer, but I didnt have time to figure this one out. Our setup is a little nonstandard, and our issue was more complex than a broken spring. Shane took his time, and leveraged his experience to solve the problem. I really appreciate his willingness to do actual diagnostic work - rather than simply throwing parts (and my money) at the issue. Five Star Doors will be my go to for garage door stuff from now on.

They told me when they would be there, and then they were there at that time (on the same day that I called, by the way). The tech told me how long it would take to do the job, and then he was done on time. They told me how much it would cost, and that was the final price to the penny. These guys were real pros with value and integrity to the core. Couldnt be happier.
