A smaller sized REI store location, however, they pack in a lot of appropriate gear for the area. Employees are great and have a lot of knowledge about anything Ive asked about, be it skiing, biking, or hiking. In some cases this knowledge is aimed at beginner or intermediate. But you shouldnt expect a pro-shop level of knowledge from a jack-of-all trades store.

Had 2 of the 3 items in stock that I was looking for. They seem to carry way more product here than the Salt Lake City store. Cashier was also very helpful, kind and professional. It’s a little out of the way for me, but will likely return to this location over the Salt Lake City option. Also, more than enough parking available.

Only reason its not a 5 is the interminable wait at check-out with only 2 CS reps. Staff could be a little more aggressive about asking a customer if they need help. I finally just had to ask do you work for the store? Helpful once I got their attention. Well stocked for one of the smaller coop stores.

I did curbside pickup today. Super easy and convenient to set up, and there were some open spots reserved for curbside in front of the store. An employee brought my order out within seriously like two minutes from when I told them I was there. The lady was friendly and helpful, too. Couldn’t be happier with REI.

They had a person out front to make sure every person is wearing a mask. I thought, That seems unnecessary, but whatever. Then I walked to the back of the store to see the shoes. I approached from the side, and . . . they had walled off the entire shoe section with awkwardly placed merchandise? It wasnt even clear it was a wall until I had forced my way through it. At that moment I realized Oh they want me to walk through their approved shoe section entry where they have an employee stationed. The employee was looking at me. At that point, I felt really uncomfortable being there, so I left the shoe section completely. I went to the front to pick up a package we had ordered online, and there I encountered another wall made of awkwardly-placed merchandise. I couldnt walk to the cashier desk in a straight line; they wanted me to walk around--through their approved que path--even though there was no one in line and hardly any one in the store. Again, I didnt know this was a wall until I had awkwardly made my way through it. I felt embarrassed as employees were watching me figure this out.Bottom line: this store feels controlling in weird ways. It made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. I plan to shop elsewhere going forward.

Trey in the shoe department did an amazing job! He is very knowledgeable and patient.I have the hardest time finding shoes that work with my feet for long hikes. I usually end up getting blisters on my heals. Trey talked through different shoe options that would be better for my feet. We had to try on a lot of different shoes, and he was so good at figuring out what wasnt working and bring another option. We finally landed on a pair that made my feet feel happy!Oh, did I mention he was also helping 3 other couples at the same time?! Rockstar

I’ve never felt like a farm animal before while entering and exiting a store until I came here. I understand proper COVID precautions but as I tried to leave they had the entrance blocked with a rope which is highly illegal. I almost tripped over it at first and someone told me I can’t leave until they open the gate. I won’t write what I said back to the employee to save the good public from reading mindless expletives. Will be reporting this store to the fire marshal.

I was looking for some cycling winter gear so I stopped by to check this store for the first time. Store looks great and clean, everyone is friendly and willing to help. Great location. However, I didn’t purchased anything. To be honest I wanted to check the prices, since they sell good brand gear. I wasn’t surprised to see the prices to be so high thought. It’s kind of outrageous how can they overpriced gear that in reality is not that expensive. I also checked their website and the same coats, same brands and same designs I found, I purchased them from Sierra for more than half the price off. My recommendation is to do a prior research before buying. I think many stores not just this one, overprice their items. With what you spend in one thing you can possibly get 2 or 3 somewhere else and again these were the same or even better brands, like Castelli for example.

I have been sitting in the shoe area and have been ignored twice. Planned on buying a pair of $220 hoka shoes, guess they dont want my business. Make that thrice (3 times) I gave the gal one more oportunity to help, but she walked away, again. She knew I was waiting, because after the second time walking past me, she asked how I was. I said great, just waiting. Maybe she doesnt like police, I was wearing a thin blue line gator face covering. I was even wearing it over my nose because they insisted on it. With my PTSD its extremely difficult to do more than 5-10 minutes, but after 15 minutes and being ignored I figured it wasnt worth it. So sorry Farmington Utah REI, you didnt get the sale.

Sometimes in-store selection is lacking, but theyre always willing to order it for you or help you find another location that carries it, if youre pressed for time. This store is pretty pricey, but youre paying for quality, long-lasting items! They also have a 1-year return policy, which gives you time to make sure the item is right for you.

I’m writing this review from the parking lot. This REI is incredible! and it’s because of the staff. I’ve been in a handful of times already and left stoked every time. The staff in the shop especially are top notch and know what they are doing. I’ve been treated well each time. A lot places treat you like dirt because you’re not one of their buds but not here. They did a ski tune on both sets of my skis and a core shot repair which turned out great. I’ve worked with Asa and Vincent and Grant and several others on the staff. Thanks REI for being such a great place to shop and for doing more than just selling stuff! Proud to be a member! Me and my family will be back soon!

I heard that they cant be trusted and should not shop here at all because they can over charge you on things that you just purchased which if you take any purchased item back even a birthday gift you have to show proof purchase of receipt which at least it think is fair but unless your exchanging it for something else than yeah but if you cant get your money back well what about gift cards too but better not over charge on that one too.

I called the Farmington Station Park REI looking for a particular pair of hiking pants. When the female associate informed me they didnt have that item in their store, she quickly checked inventory of every REI store near me (without me even needing to ask). After discovering the pants were not sold in any REI store - she went a step further, and looked to see if there was a newer version of the hiking pants (again, going the extra mile without prompt from me). Alas, the pants can only be purchased online, with an option to ship to a REI location. However, I hope this review illustrates my surpise and delight at the genuine customer service I recieved. It was refreshing to not feel like a bother calling about an item before running down to the store, especially during a pandemic. 😜

Alan is by and far the absolute worst sales rep I have encountered. He was demeaning towards me and my wife. He made comments about how my wife doesn’t know stuff and he made comments towards how I must be doing things wrong in life. He’s way out of place. He knew very little of what he was talking about. He jumps into your conversations without being welcomed and he’s like that annoying child that will never leave you alone. Terrible experience I will only shop online now, which is sad to say.

On the other hand I have never had these issues with Cabela’s or sportsman because I don’t need to be a member at these stores.

Great selection of outdoor gear, but with prices that likely could be beat. I enjoy supporting local stores, but price is a factor (meaning I will still buy local when the price is higher than, say, online stores, if service provided makes it worth it). So far I am not convinced (would be worth the 5th rating star), but will continue to shop here.

The manager wouldn’t honor my annual 20% off one item because “I could have shopped online” during the covid shutdown. She’s right, I can and will shop online. Backcountry.com is a good alternative. I want to like this location. The stores nice, the people are nice. It’s silly not to honor the one coupon we get each year, especially when the store was closed for weeks due to covid. Definitely did not meet the “100% satisfaction guarantee”. The right thing to do is honor the coupon.Follow-upI took the managers advice and shopped online. The shoes I bought yesterday at REI for full price, were 25% off at backcountry. I brought the shoes back, and explained to the same manager how we got to where we were. In short, she said her hands were tired by corporate (and I get that). She offered me 20% off the shoes, but wouldn’t match backcountry. Unfortunately, out of principle, I returned the shoes, and ordered them before leaving the parking lot, saving me $30. All this because REI corporate decided not to honor my annual coupon. 🤷🏻‍♂️
