The waitstaff here is very attentive and the food came out pretty quickly.The red snapper was delicious and fried perfectly. The steak I ordered is one of those “cook it yourself” deals (other steaks they will cook for you). The cut they provided was delicious tho.We got an order of beans, rice and salad. I was surprised to see that the sides are done family style, so definitely don’t over order!Pricing was incredible. The red snapper was only $17!!Definitely give this place a try. Remember it’s also cash only.

Over priced for a chicken that didnt even taste Hispanic at all. Honestly wouldve been happier to go hungry than waste my money here again.

I have been in this place a few times already, the service is always good or at least they put some effort. Food is very tasty and well served. If you are steak lover I personally recommend the dish “Arrachera skirt steak”, for the price they serve it is a very delicious steak. Rarely found it around the area. The “Steak fajitas” is also a very tasty dish they serve.They keep a clean environment on the outside seating.I would definitely recommend this place.

Food was mediocre at best. It seemed like they had their second string on board that day.The rice tasted like it was from the night before. The staff was friendly and very attentive.But I didnt come for the staff, I came for the amazing food my friend had told me they once served once upon. I google searched Mexican Restaurants and FaxChix came up. Not your typical Mexican restaurant name which can throw you off a little. The food is ok, nothing spectacular. No handmade tortillas, which I think should be a must if you have authentic Mexican food. Tacos are a little on the dry side but the flavors are good. Good for a grab and go.

Excellent food. My wife is Brazilian (Portuguese food has a lot of similarities with Brazilian food, for obvious reasons)... and this food was a huge comfort for her, a little reminder of home cooking.

Chicken taste bad, and sangria wasn’t that good! Plus they don’t take debit card.

This is a local sleeper. Very colorful with an interesting and diverse clientele. The grilled chicken is the best! Specials are really great as well. Portuguese and Mexican plates. Dont be put off by the unassuming exterior. Please go in and find an incredible meal. My family and I have come here for years and never disappointed.

I love this spot! They offer awesome meals, their menu is varied, The cook in that place is a real pro, I like very much trying all their dishes. The dishes are consistently of high class, the service towards the guests is efficient. I go often to this restaurant and I was never disappointed. I highly recommend it.

Garlic shrimp was terrible. Smothered in butter and no garlic. My rice was soaked in melted butter. I have been coming here for 10 years. This place is great for pollo and carne asada, their most popular dishes. But this last visit has left me very dissappointed. . 2 stars.

Great Portuguese and Mexican cuisine. The customers are a little quirky to say the least. But over all the atmosphere is great and its a nice place to hangout and enjoy yourself. Id very much recommend going if you love southern cuisine as well.

You get a good amount of food for the price. I got the skirt steak with rice & beans. The beans were good, rice was decent (though I dont like green beans which was in the rice), and the steak was decent as well. My friend got the chicken fajitas which she said was really good.Certainly not a bad restaurant by any means. Not sure if Id go back though. Please be aware, this restaurant only takes cash!

Best place in Farmingville for food

Its hard to find places that offer great food and great service. My brother brought me here for lunch on Labor Day. The line was out the door! To me that says a lot. We waited about 30 mins to be seated. The smell of the chicken from the kitchen had my mouth watering! We were seated by a very polite waitress (I should of asked her name) and we were attended to promptly. I can speak a certain degree of Spanish so it made things easier. The food was delicious! The orange juice was fresh. The service was excellent and the price is something you simply cant beat! I highly recommend this place! Any restaurants goal is develop a long term clientele.

The chicken wasnt cooked enough.

Cant say enough about how great the food is. Prices are ridiculously LOW for portion sizes and quality. Highly recommend the fajita dishes and steak dishes. Pork sandwich is great too. Stay away from the seafood soup unless you like whole(head on) shrimp staring at you from the bowl. :)

The food was better pretty good, but the wait time can be pretty long on the weekends. One thing that I really liked that they make is called a Michelada, a type of alcoholic drink made with beer, and a bunch of other ingredients. If you like beer, Id suggest that you try it.

I am from Setauket and have been eating here for over 10 years! It’s a hidden gem! Great Mexican and Portuguese food..FRESH food! This weekend I had the best grilled octopus (with a side of broccoli rabe)that I have ever eaten and I am of Sicilian heritage and know amazing octopus! Clara and Bill are the wonderful owners, very welcoming and friendly!

I cant believe how anyone can give this place a positive review. The half chicken was decent but barely seasoned and the rice was clearly store bought and the beans were straight from a can. The skirt steak was $20 and the portion was ridiculously small. This place is regularly packed to the brim, I cant understand why anyone would come back.

Insanely good chicken at a superb price. You cant miss coming here but it does help to speak Spanish or Portuguese. By the way, the chocolate mousse is as good as I have had it anywhere, and I have been to Paris.

I absolutely love this place. The chicken is great and only $12.50 for a full bird. They give you a mountain of fries for $2.5. Just keep in mind its cash only.

BEST IN THE WORLD grilled hole and half chickens with sides, take out and eat in Portuguese style food. Fresh meat and a convenience store next door. Definatly worth the trip.

Trust me, Im Hispanic.I just moved around this area and was looking for Spanish food. I tried their rice and beans: THE WORST I EVER HAD. Almost made me want to vomit. The beans were watery. The chicken tasted like it was not cleaned, I could tell. The whole place doesnt look clean. I could bet the food is not hygienic at all.Their steak was disgusting too.You have the inconvenience that they dont take credit card in top of everything and the price is way WAY too much for that foodThis is the 1st time I write a review on anything. I had to do it. For the American customer that had tried and liked it is because they are not familiar with really good Spanish food and seasoning.No joke THE WORST SPANISH FOOD EVER.
