Driving thru the area and needed some camp stove fuel. Stopped by and was very happy with the service and selection. Great staff, very helpful, but no pressure to over sell. Highly recommend.

Wow... If only we had more Pack Rat stores. I drove 3.5 hours looking for a quality outdoor outfitter and I definitely found one in Pack Rat. Im an avid outdoorsman, backpacking being my preferred outdoor activity. Pack Rat didnt let me down in price, selection, or with the knowledge and hospitality of their staff. I HIGHLY recommend! If youre in the area, or even within driving distance, youre missing out if you dont stop by.

Had the best experience! Went in to get a roof rack for my car. Jacob was so knowledgeable and helpful; he even put the rack on my car himself! Though I came in stressed and not exactly knowing what I needed, they all made my time there so easy. Highly recommend!

I come in here a lot, probably 3 times a month and try to shop here simply because its local and I always get great help. Today ruined it for me. I came in looking for a couple new pairs of shoes for myself and my husband. I was standing by the shoes waiting for someone to walk by so I could get their attention. A girl walks up next to me and is looking at shoes as well. A bald man in a flowery shirt stepped INFRONT OF ME and started talking to her about what kind of shoe she wanted. I stood there for 30 minutes more, waiting, and no one bothered. Ive never been so disrespected in here but, that rubbed me so wrong.That was it.You lost a long time customer.My advice?Go to Uncle Sams or Lewis and Clark.Both are also local.

Im from out of state, but wanted to pool purchase a slack line. Looking at options this seemed like the best local business to support. Friendly staff, well stocked, clean and easy to navigate departments AND they had my slack line! Will definitely be coming back next time I come to Fayetville!

Great team and environment. Great selection of quality gear and always on the edge of new items and such. Their selection of boutique high end gear like Hill People Gear, Warbonnet Outdoors, and locally crafted items is a gold mine. I also highly recommend their educational programming. Rick and the folks put together a wonderful kids bushcraft and archery clinic that my girls loved, and Ive also taken a few classes to brush up on some things. I will again.

This place has always been really neat. I love their crystal collections. The footwear selection is very nice. The backpacking gear is really good too. Most of the folks there are very knowledgeable. I really like the sales racks. I have gotten so many items that way including my favorite pair of shoes! Never underestimate the power of the pack rat sales rack. Words to live and love by. Oh and their dried food selection is usually always on point.

Excellent service yesterday with a tutorial on upgrading to a quality hiking pack. Offered to recreate my hiking experience by placing a 5lb weight and Nalgene bottles in the pack and then patiently advised me step by step on how to properly custom fit the pack to me for the best usage and comfort. I have purchased odds and ends here as well as coveted maps of the OHT. They know the terrain and staff knowledgeable employees. You will not be disappointed with your visit.

This is a great outfitter with amazing staff. They are always available and ready to answer questions. The female clothing section is fairly size inclusive, and they are willing to special order additional options. Pack Rat is puppy friendly, and every time we come the staff just love to greet our dog. They partner with some great organizations for charity events throughout the year and have several amazing sales.

This is one of my favorite places in Fayetteville. Not only is the staff incredibly helpful and knowledgeable, they go above and beyond for their customers. My son was looking for a specific style of knife that they happened to not have in store. They took the time to call another store in town to track one down. Cannot say enough great things.

They have lots of hiking and walking options and spectacular staff. I was looking for hiking shoes. No one else carried my size, but I had several options here, so I was able to choose the best one for me. Its a bit of a drive for me, but its very worth it. Ive already returned once and Ill definitely be going back.

Closest you are going to get to an REI around here, and they do sell some nice things. However, the Patagucci outdoorsy elitist snobbery is real, so bring plenty of money. Watch out for the creepy brooding, virtue signaling hippy guy at the top of the stairs.

Pack Rat has great customer service! I was just there for more shoes laces for my hiking boots. Not only did they search through returns and other products to find the corrects laces for my boots, they laced them up for me and made sure I was happy with them before leaving the store. Highly recommend Pack Rat for knowledgeable and friendly staff.

I didnt buy anything but my buddy did. The salesman wasnt very knowledgeable but he was helpful by letting him get what he knew he wanted when he went in. He was definitely there to sell stuff. Anything he could get you to buy. You need to know what you want and exactly what your looking for because that salesman Will sell you fishing gear for your whitewater kayak!

I had an excellent experience at Pack Rat outdoor center today. I called the day before looking for a canoe and I had some very specific criteria. The guy on the phone was friendly and helpful. I said Id ask for him when I was there and he said OK. When I arrived I was greeted immediately and asked if I was looking for anything. I replied that i had called about a canoe yesterday--he knew I had called and directed me to Rick for more expertise on the subject. Rick was super cool, very knowledgeable, and immensely helpful. He knew the subject, the stock, and the prices---Im not the easiest customer--I know the subject matter when I hit the door--and Rick made my day! We talked at LENGTH about every detail and I settled on a boat. The staff came together to load my boat and check me out--I was on my way! Once I was on the road I changed my mind about some of the details and decided that I wanted another canoe that I had seen. I turned around and pulled back up to the store--they welcomed me again, and I told them I wanted the other canoe--they said No problem and swapped them out! They even unloaded and reloaded the boats. I was impressed and thrilled! Great shopping experience and I WILL BE BACK!

Had a fantastic first experience there! Took my friend there to size him up for someRock Climbing shoes and ended up getting me a pair too. Had a very knowledgeable employee who was super helpful and positive, and we are both thankful for Jasmyn! Also a lot of other really friendly and knowledgeable staff who want to help you as best they can with the right equipment!Would highly recommend to all my local dirtbag climbing friends and anyone else who needs quality outdoor equipment!

Prices can be high but support local guides, and college students who work there so worth the extra knowing it goes to support locals seeking education and helping others with local outdoor options. Good all around selection of everything you might night and things you might not have thought you needed. Usually good selection of outdoor freeze dried food as well, for quick stop before heading out for day or two.

Pack Rat is my go-to outdoor equipment retailer. It has tons of brands and a very wide selection. The building is gorgeous and the staff knows their stuff. Ive always been able to get answers to my outdoor equipment questions. If youre looking for anything from hiking boots and clothes to kayaks to tents and backpacks, this is the place to go. Their regular training events and semi-annual sales makes this one of my favorite places in NWA.

First time in an outdoors store and I was amazed by the customer service. The employees were more than willing to help fit me for a pack and inform me of products. This was even after I verbally reliezed this was no way I could afford what I wanted at the present time. They did not try to up sale me nor diminish my limited experience with quality products.In short, loved this store! Friendly and helps. Would recommend.

Pack Rat is a locally owned Fayetteville establishment with a tremendous staff! They are very helpful in assisting with product knowledge of all of their outdoor sports gear. Their pricing is very competitive and seasonal sales offer great bargains!
