This is an amazing hip place in the downtown area. The atmosphere is so chilled, the coffee is good. There is a nice selection of beer on tap. I spent some time here alone chilling with my glass of iced mocha. The brownie is good. Coffee and brownie, everything is just perfect, moderately sweet. The place is great for chilling alone, working on laptop, hanging out with friends, or even for a casual date. Highly recommended if you are around.

Puritan is amazing! Great selection of coffee, beer and mixed drinks. This place was already great. But they have renovated and the place is now twice as big! And it looks better too. Just look at the pictures! Stop by when you can. This is also a place to sit and work/study.

Beautiful renovations-so well done! Floor to ceiling windows are refreshing and provide a beautiful view. Puritan is my by far the best coffee shop / cafe in Fayetteville. The food (especially the veggie breakfast burrito and the banana bread is SO delicious!). I was pleasantly surprised they started making their own food—a wonderful improvement. The trivia nights are a really fun atmosphere (but bring earplugs bc music is extremely loud).Absolutely recommend this spot! The earlier you go, the better seating you can get. Pretty packed with college students throughout the day and can be hard to find a place to sit.Critiques are: certainly need a nicer/newer/cleaner microwave and the ability to warm food for customer (instead of customer doing it themselves.) And offering some yummy speciality syrups like lavender, etc., that both Onyx/ Pink House Alchemy have locally. Offering croissants would be a huge plus.

Puritan has added great FOOD to their already awesome coffee. I had the Veggie Breakfast Burrito with verde salsa and would highly recommend - it’s money.Working from the patio this Fall has been amazing. Always appreciate the friendly service, as well.

Great coffee & wonderful staff. Thursday afternoon, 7/29/21, I spilled my Iced Americano all over the place (and over my scone) and the young woman server was so gracious about it. Not only that, but when I got to my car I found a brownie in my to go bag along with a fresh scone. I mean, how can you beat that!?

Very nice place to sit with a book, laptop, friends, and enjoy a coffee, tea or beer. Great ambience. You must wear a mask when you place your order, please respect that. Theyre very reasonably priced on the coffee and tea!

They kick you out at 4pm if you have a laptop, which is utterly asinine. If I could, I’d give them 0 stars. I won’t be returning.

Good vibe and nice for studying. But they wont allow laptops on one side of the building after 4pm. The side were computers are allowed has very limited seating and I ended up leaving because there was nowhere to sit. Also their beer is expensive, but thats expected on Dickson.

I’ve seen several negative reviews on here which indicate that the staff are rude, or complain about the temperature (of all things), so I felt obliged to leave a review. Puritan is an iconic Fayetteville staple and is loved by many *hundreds,* or even thousands, even if they don’t leave reviews on here. The idea of fusing craft coffee, craft beer, studying space, and conversation space into one location is genius. The vibe is always on point – both hip and lively, and refined and studious. And the core staff who work there – Mitchell, Luke, and others, are always helpful and have an insane knowledge of the different beer and cocktail offerings they serve. Check out Mitchell’s New York Standard cocktail if you happen to catch him, too!

One of my favorite places to hang out in town. Puritan is perfect for a relaxing time alone with a book, a study sesh, a study break, or a chill-hang with some friends.The golden egg that Puritan managed to crack was to be both a college-town coffee shop and a craft beer sip-house at the same time. You dont get the hustle and bustle of a bar, but you get rotating taps of top-notch local and sourced beer, and they serve the always excellent (and local) Onyx coffee for those who want something non-alcoholic.The bathroom is also, for whatever reason, a favorite among students and Fayettevillians for photographs, and the Puritan bathroom aesthetic, so to speak, is a totally real phenomenon.

Great to have so many choices of beverages. My Americano was tasty and my husband enjoyed some local beers that we said were very good. I had a soft boiled egg with verde sauce and pickled onions. Yum!

I like the atmosphere of this coffee shop, wooden seats add a rustic feel. Plus a good taste of coffee depending on how strong you want it makes you feel awake. Baristas are also friendly and help you choose the coffee you like.

Puritan showcases some of the regions best brews, as well as quality coffee, tea, & local fresh pastries. It provides a modern industrial feel in a building which at least looks historic; giving the impression that it has always been here, as I hope it is for many years to come. One of my favorite places to gather with friends for a drink.

Amazing coffee, Great location! I always get the cortado and it never disappoints.Last night I met a friend to hang out. I switched routes and got the coffee stout. Very smooth and creamy brew. I’ll get this again!I noticed that they’re adding on a sweet outdoor patio just right off the side near Dickson Street. This should be a great spot to hang out once it’s completed. :)

The little white man at the cashier was extremely rude and nonchalant with us while we were trying to ask questions. felt out of place and uncomfortable because of his service. if you’re bipoc i would not recommend this place.

I’ve always loved coming here for breakfast. However, I have started to have several rude encounters with the baristas (2 females). My drinks were poorly made and when I asked if I could have extra cold brew, I was rudely told “no, I’ve already made the drinks and there’s nothing I can do about it now because you took the drink” and walked away. I figured this might be because of covid so I asked another worker if I could have a side of it and I would add it myself and she hesitated rudely and said “I guess I could put it in a to-go cup” then continued what she was doing and never did it. My matcha latte tasted like warm milk and my chichi Rodriguez tasted like straight lemonade.

I really like this place but it is uncomfortably cold in the winter time. Came to study and had to leave an hour later because it felt like I had my feet sticking out of a window. I also found the bartenders to be rude.Update: Taking another star aware because I just learned that you have to make a purchase every 2 hours in order to use their WiFi. That of ridiculous.

This place is an awesome spot for an afternoon of reading or studying. Great beer selection, and the coffee is quality. Note that they turn off the internet in the early evening, so you are encouraged to enjoy your beverage and truly socialize.

Cool looking place with a large spectrum of local beers + coffee. Prices are as high as the rest of Dickson Street, though it feels cheap while shopping the Fayettechill racks in the same building.Oh, also they do host really nice events. Need to work on bettering the WiFi quality, and stinks to have to use Plastic cups during BBB, but I know theyre working on it. I recommend!

Service was great! They were very friendly, made sure we were taken care of throughout our time there. Our espresso drinks were well made and our beers were well-poured. We did not order food but it smelled great. The music was good. The atmosphere is nice. Sometimes in the coffee shops around Fayetteville, you kind of get the vibe that youre bothering the staff by entering the establishment but I did not get that vibe at all here. Other patrons were also very friendly.Would sip again! Would recommend!

Puritan provides a cool atmosphere to meet friends, people watch, or get some work done. The staff is always very friendly and the drinks are always exactly what you want.

Along with the ambiance of the place, which is something of a hipster meets comfy country kind of vibe, the coffee itself tends itself to be a very robust and flavorful cup of coffee that can be enjoyed without having to add anything to it. While here I had the drip coffee which is served at market price. The presentation of the drink itself was quite unique as well.

Really nice place to chill and have a coffee in the am. Sit on the deck or inside. Then later in the day have a local beer. The local cyclists start our Saturday morning group ride from here and they let me order a 1/2 cold brew since I usually have less than 10 minutes to drink it. Very cool

This is not a review relative to coffee in general this is a review specific to craft coffee and establishments that choose to invest in $12,000 espresso machines. This place should be great, I love the vibe, I love the people, but the coffee in the world of craft coffee was completely average. It could be the grind, it could have been an off day, I hope to update this in the future, but unfortunately this is just average coffee.

We grabbed a couple of cappuccinos here prior to walking about Fayetteville. This place has a great vibe. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The coffee was phenomenal! I love that the cappuccino was a spot on blend of coffee and milk (I often find a lot of places cant discern between a cap and a latte and go too heavy on the milk). The coffee taste was nutty, smooth, and rich. Looking forward to trying out their beer prior to leaving Fayetteville.

Great place to have a cup of coffee or a beer, they serve a lot of local breweries. Sometimes they host trivia nights and partner with other organizations who are doing things nearby. Seems like a pretty laid back environment to work in too.

This is a great place for a first date! I had a caramel latte that was delicious. It was really busy, but not too loud or crowded. They could do with a bit more seating, but I loved the place. There was a sweet red heeler when I visited. Cant wait to go back!

The atmosphere of the interior is really modern and clean, definitely a cool spot to hang out for coffee or drinks. Their outdoor area is really well designed too, with many different seating options and good views. They have a great selection of beers, and lots if options for non beer drinkers too.

Puritan is my favorite coffee shop in Fayetteville! The drinks and food are amazing and the location has a great selection of indoor and outdoor seating. Also the baristas are super great. If you havent eaten a breakfast sandwich from Puritan, you havent lived.

This guy is a genius - very versatile place to grab coffee or a drink or both. Good for dates, good for getting some work done, good for meeting friends after work, nice deck and bright inside with lots of natural lighting. If they had some better food options theyd be even more desirable.

Great place to do homework, catch up with friends, or just sit and read a book. Great coffee, great beer, usually great service. Sometimes they make it too dark (on weeknights) and turn up the music too loud for a place that is full of college students doing homework.

Drip coffee that is never burnt and packs delicious flavor. The sitting area is spacious and inviting. I love coming here for an afternoon cup of coffee.

My go-to shop in all of Fayetteville. I work as a freelancer, so it can get pretty lonely and boring working from home. I tend to spend my mornings at Puritan as its a great spot to converse with local regulars and the friendly staff. They source their coffee from Onyx, which comes out perfect every time. The prices are decent and comparable to any other coffee shop in the area. It does tend to get busy in the afternoon, but rarely feels overcrowded, especially in the summer. Highly recommend to choose for your next espresso, or a close knit co-working space.

Didnt understand the mask rules, bartender was rude and huffy as he retreated to the back room when asked to explain them.

I had a Marshall Dunkel, and it was smooth. We sat out on the patio that overlooks Dickson St, and it was great. The weather was good! The staff was friendly and helpful. They recommend beers based upon your preference, and are patient with newbies.

Puritan is located beautifully on Dickson. The atmosphere emphasizes archetypical coffee shop. I only get hot chocolates (I dont like coffee), and theyre okay and more expensive than Onyxs coffee. This is a great location for college students since its near the university.
