Mr. Capstick is the most genuine guy you can meet. He cuts his own sod and it’s very high quality. You won’t be disappointed, you just need to understand, you’ll need to load it yourself to make it easy for him. Great price.
Lovely people, and a great price on fresh-cut Bermuda Sod. I’d 100% recommend them, and would happily buy from them again!
Nice guy
Picked up 4 rolls. Followed elderly owner in cart and his sod removing machine moving on its own to the field. Wish i had a need to buy more.
Mr. Capstick grows and sells his sod from his home. Call ahead before you arrive to make sure he is there, and he will take care of you.The location on Google Maps is incorrect. I have submitted a correction request. It is actually located near the intersection of Joyce and Old Wire, across from Modern Mission. You can clearly see the sod cut marks in the field behind the house on Google Maps.
The sod is high quality, but they are not configured for residential customers. Dont expect to order a pallet of sod and have it loaded on your trailer or truck. You will have to go out in the field and load each roll as they cut it.
The owner was very friendly and knowledgeable about sod and other grass related questions I had. His sod was still dormant, but this is definitely where Ill buy it from when its ready!
Good quality Sod, great personal
No, this is not a commercial sod setup. However, Im glad it isnt. The gentleman grows sod on his property and peels the sod on the day you want to pick it up, and the exact amount you need.I learned from visiting with him while my husband loaded the sod, that he is a retired Agriculture Economics professor, PhD from OU. He is retired and I assume this sod business is something that keeps him busy during his retirement. As I mentioned, he has a PhD in agriculture, he knows his business and was very informative. This is the kind of person I want answering my questions, of which I had plenty.Yes, my husband loaded the sod, but that was not an issue. Before we decided on Capstick, I called around and his price was quite a bit less than the other suppliers I Googled in the Fayetteville area. Im glad we chose him, and weve already went back for our second load. He even gave us an old carpet cutting tool that he suggested would help us while laying and cutting. I mean, I cant say enough good things about this place. If you want to pull up to a store where they load it into your vehicle by the pallet, and you dont know when they peeled it, this isnt your spot. We are do it yourselfers, frugal, and like small business, so win, win, win!!!
