Discount guns has a good selection of firearms and decent inventory of ammo available at a good price. What stood out to me was the service. They do have a limit as of how many people are allowed at once in the store and enforce everyone to wear face mask so right when you get in if they are at capacity they take your name and number and have you wait outside and call you when you are able to shop in the store. Once in the store the employees were very helpful and were able to answer any questions I had. They also have an indoor range which is a plus and you can rent pistols, rifles, and shotguns to practice with in the range.
Took the intro class and loved it, great teachers and great people. Go here!
Kudos to the great guy that was helping us when my boyfriend didn’t see the gun he wanted but the employee, didn’t catch his name, checked online and did everything he could to give great customer service. It’s when I presume who is the owner or manager, saw him struggling and reprimanded him like he was an incompetent employee. The vibe of the whole store just went silent and here we were standing acting like it wasn’t rude at all and act like we weren’t affected by how the owner talked to his employee. I wanted to leave right then and there but since the employee was nice, I waited. The whole ordeal just left a sour taste to our mouths and we just walked out not buying anything. Thanks to the employee who helped, but no thanks to the man who made all the customers and employees feel uncomfortable. we’ve bought 3 guns here for the past year and after this, we won’t be back.
I think this place is great and theres plenty of guns to rent. This is my first gun range Ive ever been to. I feel safe since the staff works hard at providing a safe environment for they customers.
Range staff are great and great guys and their store does have a good selection.Hiwever, the store staff are rude. Money over manners. There are better gun stores with competitive prices in the area.
Came here for the first time to use the range. Place was busy but staff was well organized and getting set up was extremely efficient. Big ups to Chris who was a boss getting everyone through. Was very impressed with his excellent service.
I almost didnt shop this store due to the bad reviews. Im glad I decided to visit anyway. It was somewhat busy while I was there, and I did wait a bit, but the staff were all polite and helpful. I was able to purchase what I came for. No drama at all. I wouldnt hesitate to visit again.
Great help from all staff. It wasnt busy at all but I saw the long line on my way out. I did appreciate an employee telling a customer to wear his mask properly. Most gun stores dont care for mask. Not a big deal but nice to see some take it seriously. Each gun guy was helpful as first time gun user
Ngl the staff is Knowledgeable but the atmosphere is very uncomfortable. Half the staff and 90% of the customers are very opinionated and antagonistic over personal beliefs that should be left at the door. I love the prices, dedication to service and ease of range access but the environment aint the best for poc
Ive been to this shop several times to use the range and to purchase. Ive always had a pretty good experience, the range staff were polite and answered any questions I had. The times I purchased firearms I happened to have the same guy help me and he was always nice and knowledgeable and didnt make it seem like I was bothering him. Ive noticed alot of negitive reviews requarding their customer service, I never experienced that and I didnt notice any of the staff being rude to any customers the times I was there either, even during the months when it was extremely busy. They were the only shop that I could find the ammo I needed during the ammo shortage and they were not price gouging like alot of the other places.
As an imigrant felt discrimination from one of the older employees 🙄 and as a business owner myself Id never treat any costumer this way .This guy needs to understand that hes there to help costumers no matter the race because we live in a free country .Mean attitude wont get you anywhere.I found out myself what type of permit I need, he didnt help with it instead he said the wrong info to mislead or just cause some people think they know everything.1st and last time stepped in this store. Going to purchase a gun somewhere else.
Lots of knowledge people, quick service, and fair prices. Definitely a place you should check out.Oh BTW they also have an indoor range.
Had the gun I wanted for less than one on-line broker with no transfer fees. Less money, less tax, no shipping, no transfer fee, and had it in stock!!! Bought from here before and will definitely do so again!!!
Great experience overall. Worked with a friendly guy named Dan. Bought a Rifle and the whole process went smoothly and quick. Yes there are wait times due to COVID rules but honestly what can you do. Great selection and great prices. Will be going back.
Given the shortages their stock is pretty good. Some of the staff are knowledgeable, some less so, but that is usual for most stores.Clearly some staff think covid masks are not really needed as one employee said exactly that.Waits are long to get in as they do very well limiting how many are in the store. I cannot complain about the waiting even if it takes time. The less than 5 star rating is because I ordered and paid in full for a gun. Waited two weeks for them to receive it. Then they said the made a mistake and under charged me. The manager refused to let it go at the price I had paid even though I had the receipt from them marked by their staff fully paid.Nor would he offer any discount.Pretty much give me more money.Poor business.
These guys are the best.I was denied because south sound 911 said a copy of my i.d wasnt sent. The manager and staff got right on top of the issue contacting who was needed to be at south sound 911.Theie customer service is the best hands down you cant ask for any better..5 stars for them.
Very professional business safety first is priority, high quality merchandise
Attended Basic Handgun training, good presentation and written instructions, the part owner instructor was amazing and knowledgeable, however, being a little neverous did not sit well with the other trainer in fact he made me more nervous so that was not a good experience at all, I understand about safety but a little more patience would have been appreciated so thumbs down on that instructor.
Before I begin, I want to emphasize a point here: this place HAS INVENTORY. With everything going on as of 29 JAN, you are more than likely to find whatever it is you are looking for at this shop. With that being said, here is what I think of the store:As mentioned, their inventory is pretty steady: they have handguns, rifles, shotguns, AR pistols, almost everything you need for whatever application you need to fill along with the accessories to go along with it. They are really only in short supply of ammunition from what Ive seen, and even at that its largely dependent as they had a large stock of 7.62x51 rounds available as of 28 JAN. To add to this, anything you want to try out that you find in the store they probably have a rental available for their indoor firing range. These are an absolute plus for any firearms retailer especially given todays climate. Only real downside to the store is the stupid long wait time, and while we do have extenuating circumstances, I have seen gun stores that manage to get people in and out rather quickly, so I feel the team inside can figure this out at some point.So...why the three star rating? The personnel. The guys behind the counter range from personable at best to conniving and burdened by the customer at worst. The two gentlemen frequenting the rental counter are stand up guys, and any information you need in the store I suggest getting in touch with them (one is a young latino dude and the other is a slightly older ginger guy. I enjoy interacting with them, personally, but your experience may vary.) The guys in the actual store, however, are a grab bag of decent to unprofessional. They can have a pretty bad attitude when it comes to engaging with them and asking questions, plus if you are not familiar with the process of purchasing a firearm in their store they get kind of tense. Didnt help me to feel good in terms of buying. In addition, and arguably the most important part of purchasing here, you ought to know what you want to buy before you buy it. Why do I say that? I went in with the intention of purchasing a long range application rifle, and while I managed to get something to accomplish this task, because I was sold on the idea of a specific rifle thanks to one of the employees hyping up the weapon for me, I wound up purchasing a weapon that probably was sitting on their wall for a long time because of how expensive the accessories are for it. Had I taken my time and looked up information about what I wanted to buy, I might have opted for a more modular firearm that didnt have proprietary components such as $50+ magazines that are rare on the market (hell, best set I could find was 5 magazines for $425...). But because I trusted the opinion of the man at the counter, I went with what was suggested and now have a great rifle that is expensive to supplement. Plus they had told me it was one weapons platform when it was another, so they also dont always know what they are talking about. Bottom line: do your research.Overall, I want to say that I recommend this place if you dont already have a place that you like. They do have things for sale that are useful to the general public, they have a range, and it isnt exactly a miserable experience buying from them, but you can definitely do better...plus they will take advantage of ignorance, so be alert as to what they want to sell you and look up what they want you to buy if theyre recommending something.
I decided to get a new gun and waited about an hour to get help. Found the one I wanted and did the paperwork. All good. When it was time to go pick up. I showed up and was told there was an hour wait. So I waited 2 hours with no help. I couldn’t wait any longer because had to get back to work. Next day I went was told just over an hour wait. 3 1/2 hours it took just to pick up a gun and leave with it!!!! COVID or not it’s Ridiculous to take that long just to pick up a gun. Have bought other gun from other businesses and they have always taken me right in for picking up.I will never do business with Federal Way Discount Guns again! Do yourself a favor and go to a business that will take care of you.
Very slow service even with covid. I understand but when you call someone to pick up their gun and have them wait 2 hours. This is crazy. My bf had to wait 2 hours after being told it would only be 15 min wait after having your name on the list.
Discount Guns usually has the best prices and selection of any local gun shop in the area. I made my third purchase from them this week and I must say, it was not pleasant. I understand the sales employees are busy with the endless stream of customers, but they are just robots now. Nobody smiles, nobody greets you, and every question you ask makes the employees more and more annoyed with having to talk to you. They make no effort to help you decide what to purchase or provide relevant information about the guns. And god forbid if you ask to see more than one gun before making the purchase. You get the overwhelming impression that the salespeople just want you to leave the store as soon as possible. By contrast, the gentlemen at the range/rental counter are great.
The guys here are awesome Chris, Dan, Davion, Kyle, Carl, Andrew. They pretty much know me by now as a regular. Ammo prices are reasonable and not price gouging. Smooth Store transactions and being a member its worth it just for the tactical bay alone!
My worse experience.I was trying to buy. At least3 to 4 guns. I end up on a argument. Its ridiculous. How they being train. To take careCustomers. I do not recommend this place it all
Horrible system in place with over 2 hour wait times.... suggestion.... ALLOW PEOPLE TO MAKE APPOINTMENT TIME SLOTS. The system in place is absolutely not working and is a HUGE inconvenience to buyers. Please fix this or lose my business permanently.
Best customer service. I felt very welcomed. I ask a lot of questions and they took their time and several of them jumped into the conversation to add their option. That was really fun. I was also impressed at the diversity there. Very POC friendly. Ill definitely be back!
Do Not Deposit Anything On A Backorder. They will steal your money and youll be SOL.If you like wearing your mask because you dont want to die from Covid, DO NOT go here because all the workers will either not wear a mask or make fun of you for wearing one.Washington State is lucky to have plenty of other professional places for people to shop at.
Great group of guys at this shop. Ive done a fair amount of business with them this year and Im very pleased with their conduct and knowledge. The range is very well maintained. Highly recommend their services.
Have shopped with and shot at their store and range since before their move. This shop has always had a low tolerance for BS, something I appreciate. The negative reviews can all be chocked up to customers with poor attitudes, egos or lack of understanding in regards to firearms laws in WA. I recently came in with a request for a refund for $1700.00 on a special order. Turned out the firearm I had ordered is delayed indefinitely. Adam, behind the counter, was awesome about it, I ended up keeping the money in store and purchasing a diff firearm. Looking forward to the next purchase! Great shop, just dont walk in with a chip on your shoulder or acting like a special snowflake. 10/10 guys, keep it up!
Great place! Good customer service and good prices
Was told I needed a guard card, or a CPL to buy a firearm from them..
The thing I appreciate most is the level of expertise and willingness to teach and help train and create responsible gun owners. Andrew was a big help in helping me narrow down my AR purchase to the perfect fit for purpose piece as well as wifeys handgun. Weve made many purchases and used the range often. It was an easy decision to get a membership. Ive purchased direct from their very diverse and large inventory as well as purchased out of state and utilized them for the transfer. Ive had nothing but positive experiences with Moe, Adam, Karl, Reilly, Stephen, Andrew, Chris and John and a few others including even a few Allens!! Its a great place to membership at especially because of the community feel and getting to know so many other members. Families, friends and firearms! Love this place!
Charge you $50 to do suppressor paper work while acting like its an inconvenience. On top of that they wont let you fire your suppressor on their range while you wait for your form 4 to clear. This is the first gun store Ive ever had that happen at. Only leaving the extra star because they do let you rapid fire on their range. Definitely do not send your suppressor here.
Went into the store, good selection during this time. Medical exception friendly. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. We will be coming back to use the range! 5 stars!
The word disappointment is an understatement when it comes to this establishment. I purchased a used shotgun from this gun shop a few weeks ago. It was the day before I was going on a long planned duck hunt. I was promised at the counter by the salesman that the gun had been completely gone through, given a full and thorough inspection, cleaned, lubricated and was ready to go for my hunt the next morning. I had broken a piece cleaning my older 12 gauge the day before this and was in need of a quick replacement. After waiting nearly three hours on their wait list to get in to look at the firearm, I briefly looked over the gun and made the decision to buy, the price was manageable and the weapon looked fine from the exterior, in fact lightly used for an older gun. I realize when buying a used firearm that there is risk involved but given that I was in a time crunch, I trusted that they had done what the had told me and I was good to go in the morning. When in the duck blind the next morning the gun would not cycle through the shot gun shells and I knew that something had to be really wrong. The next day (Sunday) I came home and because the shop was closed, decided to dig into the gun and see what was wrong. When I began to disassemble the gun I quickly became aware of the issues. Not only was the gun missing pieces, it looked as if it hadnt seen the light of day in nearly a decade. There was caked on grease, rust, and dirt and grime coated throughout. Sick to my stomach, I began scrubbing and cleaning. I spent nearly three hours thoroughly cleaning this gun. Monday morning I stepped back into the gun shop to another long wait to get in to see there gunsmith. He was rude to me and didnt admit any fault or apologize to the condition of the gun as if it were my fault that I didnt completely dismantle the gun in store before buying to fact check the salesman. He had the parts that were missing to the gun in a kit in the back of the shop, luckily. He took the gun and said he would actually go through it this time and call me when it was done. A week later I came in to pick up the firearm. I asked to speak to the owner about what had happened to make this right. After waiting at the counter for them to deliberate on what to tell me, a manager came out, the manager apologized and said it must have just fell through the cracks and it happens. He said that the owner was too busy in meetings to speak with me. Im sorry, youre in the business of selling firearms. I realize your human but this is unacceptable on every level. I asked the manager to refund me some of my money, give me store credit or do something for me to make this right, he left to go into the back again. When he came out he gave me there cheapest cleaning kit to replace the supplies I burned through to bring this gun back from the dead. I cant believe this happened to me, easily the worst experience Ive ever had with a gun shop. The fact that they care so little about a new customer and that I had to come in and advocate for myself to right their mistake. Absolutely disappointing. Please take this as a warning that the employees and owner of this shop do not care about their customers and do not go through there used guns before selling them.
I read some negative comments about customer service but decided to go there anyway because they have so much more inventory than other shops. I could not have been happier with the customer service. Im pretty new to the gun world and they were very patient and informative with me. By the time I left I had meet three or four of the employees and they all made me feel like I was family. Yes they have lines to get in where others dont but theres a reason for that. I dont write many reviews but I felt like these guys deserved a five star and I look forward to going back!
They have a good selection of firearms. I havent been to the range. Their customer service is...way below par. The lines are incredibly long, which isnt their fault. Everyone is getting firearms last minute, but theres no quick feet from them to get the line moving. They seem indifferent.Heres my first time buying experience with them. I stand in line for hours and then come in just to have them do the paperwork for having a gun transferred from a shop a bought it in out of state. They say theyll let me know when it comes in. I call about 2 weeks later and ask if they have it, since I got an email from FedEx saying it was delivered. Guy on the phone bluntly says well call you when we have it. So then a couple weeks later, I call again and ask, and then insist that they check. They say, yep we have it, you can come get it. So I go there, wait in line for a few hours with a toddler, and then get inside. They tell me oh its past the 30 day background check mark, we gotta do it again. Now I didnt know about this rule, which I suppose is my own fault. But they never called me and told me it was there, and then when I called again they told me I could pick it up. So I had to wait another 2 weeks to get my firearm. Stood in line for a few hours once again, then finally got my rifle. The staff are incredibly inattentive when youre clearly standing there waiting for assistance. They almost seem annoyed that youre a customer. One employee I talked with was cool. Aside from him, If youre new to the gun scene and youre looking for a helpful and friendly environment, stay as far away from this place as possible.
Great and inexpensive indoor range. They also have eyes and ears for any lane if you need it. They accommodate most ammunition as long as youre running your own firearm.
Awesome customer service, and great prices
Usually nowhere near this shop. But due to the convenience ended up purchasing from here. The employees acted like they were still in boot camp, and are quick to show authority rather than do their job.
New in town and was looking for a new range and store.Window shopped and shot at the range. Prices where good and the store staff, which include the owner, seamed knowledgeable and polite.Range staff are professional and polite, normal range rules, nothing special or crazy. The range(indoor) was clean and well ventilated. Im personally not a fan of cardboard target hangers but I understand why they use them.
Absolutely terrible place to do business, staff isn’t very knowledgeable and the owner/manager seems to treat both staff and customers very rudely. I have attempted business with this store a few times, and greatly regretted the trip EVERY TIME.
Indoor shopping is actually closed. I walked in and they told me to get out and then asked what I wanted. I said I just wanted to browse ammo and guns and they wouldn’t let me unless I knew exactly what I wanted. No other small gun shops are doing this and I’m a bit put off. You can go wait inside if you want to shoot at the range though.
Dan-Thank you for the training you provided to me and Sheri. You are a professional and a great person. Thank you.
Horrible customer service. Absolutely terrible. The staff was arrogant, minus one of the older staff members who was very helpful. The manager must have little man syndrome or just love the little authority he has to bully you.My wife was looking at a weapon her younger brother was purchasing, his first weapon(AR) purchase ever. She grabbed it off the counter and safely pointed it at the ground, when putting it back she kept it pointing at the ground then tilted it back on the counter. The manager yells from across the room in front of everyone “MA’AM, MA’AM, watch where you’re pointing that.” My wife has over ten years experience with weapons and knows how to safely handle one, plus if you’re putting it back on the counter she had to lay it sideways when putting it down.We are not from here so we found out we had to take a little course online for Washington gun laws and show the certificate. No big deal. When we came back to purchase the weapon we were questioned why my wife would be holding onto the money that her brother is paying with. Asked if they were married then said it was “weird “ she handed him the bank envelope. How is that his business, he was not comfortable carrying that on his person and wanted her to hold it in her purse because I was with her and wanted to keep it safe. While her brother was filling the paperwork out he did not understand what some of the questions meant because of the law jargon and the way it was worded so he read out loud the question to me and I helped tell him what it meant. He answered them on his own after I explained. One employees with us listening to him ask and did not say anything to him, but the manager came over to the corner where we were and said “you can’t help him answer the questions “. Just as rude as when he spoke to my wife. I said I’m not and that he was having trouble understanding the questions so I read them and helped explain. The little manager then said “you did answer them for him”, first off he wasn’t close enough to hear and could have simply explained that to me and I would have told him I was not. But he got upset after I said I wasn’t and I told him why I was helping, the little manager said “He can’t read” then said if he had questions he HAD to ask the staff. I told him I’m not going to argue with him and I was done talking to him when he had a temper tantrum and snatched the paper from her brother and said I had to pay attention to him or he wouldn’t sell me the gun because he was the owner and manager. He then kept saying “YOU UNDERSTAND “ like I was a kid. I kept quiet so he could get the weapon he really wanted.Overall you have a little manager with a complex that would never talk to most people like that outside of his store. Horrible experience for my brother in law and his first gun purchase. Please take your money elsewhere for better customer service. This isn’t just my word, there were two other people with me that could verify this temper tantrum.
I stopped going here for a long time due to their rudeness and unprofessionalism. Fast forward a couple years, thought they changed and boy was I wrong. Called for a simple question just to be talked down to and asked if there were other services just to be told well if I knew, I would of told you alreadyWith that being said screw you Ill find a better place where customers are actually appreciated
Homeboy at the rental counter kept spitting in a cup, not wearing a mask! He SEVERAL TIMES sneezed outward towards customers waiting to be admitted into the sales floor. Then, when I asked another employee about whether masks are required based on the number of employees seen not wearing them, shrugged his shoulders and said, I quote: not really. Unbelievable... DONT BOTHER GOING HERE!! ☠️👀
Very pleased with my 1st visit & now its my 4th time . they do know the business as far as I know... it comes down to attitude & approach. Depends how you want to do business. Me i thought the guys were all cool. Willing to help with any ??s. One guy i 1st. Met was ( Steve ). Thank you Steve !!I want to also thank the manager ( Adam )..Appreciate it all Kimo-Sabe. I like the place. Thank-you &L8tr. guys! May business prosper for all of U !!
This place is horrible as far as customer service staff literally give zero ducks about customer service they make you feel like your bothering them about purchasing a firearm even with cash in hand. The worst customer service I’ve experienced anywhere. (Anywhere!) like why do retail? Go back to college and get a better job if you don’t like people.
They have a great selection to rent or buy and most of the staff seem to be fairly knowledgeable. The front end range counter is always busy and the employees there do a pretty good job of getting everyone taken care of.
Been a customer since 2010 at the old shop. Maybe before then..? Decent prices, but its always an awkward uncomfortable experience with any of the employees I encounter.
There is a two hour wait to enter even if you called ahead and had them put it on hold. They wont allow you to schedule an appointment. If you live far away and dont have all day to buy a gun. Go somewhere else. My money and yours should go elsewhere.
Ive purchased from them multiple times since moving to Federal Way. Most of the time they are very upfront about wait times and costs and the guys working the range are professional and knowledgeable. Recently I got the run around after purchasing a long gun, but everyone is a little overwhelmed right now so it wont turn me away as a customer. Getting different information from different employees will lead to a less than desirable customer service experience in any situation.
Every firearms store is busy right now, while their wait time/customer service was dismal and poorly communicated thats not the reason for my 1 star. The overall conduct by the staff at this site is very poor. The front door manager was continuously practicing flicking his knife open, I say practicing because on more than one occasion his poor grip resulted in the open knife flinging out of his hand in random directions.Likewise in the pro shop I counted 4 firearms that were off the rack laying around behind the counter, 2 of which were pointed inward towards where customers browse. What happened to treat every gun like it is loaded or dont point at anything you dont intend to destroy.Prices were okay. But the overall safety and professionalism of the place was lacking.
They have an attitude problem.
Gun shops are always strange, there seems to be a culture of indifference/annoyance that is pervasive in even the most friendly of shops. Anyways I have gone to this shop off and on for years (since they were at their old locations) simply because it was close to home. Almost everyone time the service was rather subpar, borderline rude. Once again strange, especially when I am giving them money. Prices are average to below average. If you have other options or dont mind driving a bit, there are much better local shops within 1-1.5 hours. Two stars because they had what I wanted.
Great Customer service, One of my Favorite Ranges👍
I’ve purchased about 10 guns from here and never disappointed... great guys, great selection (especially used) and great prices... keep up the good work fellas!!
If you are a beginner, this is not the place for you. They expect you to know things when you come in. Their customer service is just awful. I would never come here again. I wish there is a 0 star button.
I appreciate their knowledge and directness. They also made buying a gun for my husband a much better experience than anyone else we went to.
Had a good experience . The experienced associate helped me make an educated decision . Just visited a store in Bellevue and the same gun was double the price .
Made the purchasing of a new fire arm super easy. Look forward to doing business in the future.
Helpful staff and wide array of products to choose from. Range customers have created an inclusive community that meets up for events during the weekdays. It would be nice if responses could be made on this review platform. The lady complaining about the Americans with Disabilities Act related discrimination is failing to disseminate the fact that her 14 year old son was not being hired, therefore discrimination was not taking place. Also, her sons disability (I will not disclose), would have placed other customers in the range in an immediate danger if staff let her child shoot. The range instructors and staff have to consider a risk assessment when choosing to meet a customers request for training and education. Unfortunately in this case, the request couldnt be fulfilled and the customer was denied business.I want to point out that while customer service is a priority, gun shops have to meet regulation requirements from federal laws and ATF regulation, first and foremost, these must be considered paramount next to safety. Not everybody will get what they want how they want it when they want it. The range and store has to keep safety and regulations in mind during every transaction that takes place. While it is unfortunate that her son could not shoot here, hurt feelings are better
The range is amazing and easily the best in the area. The shop is the leaves a fair amount to be desired. Transfer fees and policies are nowhere near competitive. While shooting at the range recently I had an issue with one of my guns and the gunsmith helped out with a quick fix and didnt charge which was nice. Overall I like the range but try to avoid the store.
Waited close to an hour to get inside the store, one employee spoke to me disrespectfully without reason to, on my way out I overheard them complaining about my question to other employees and customers, completely unacceptable.
Ill never do business with these people again. Read the fine print. I bought what I thought was a 1 year membership and what appeared to be a reasonable monthly payment plan. On 3 occasions, I tried to use my membership but found the range completely full. I resigned myself to the fact that I wasted that money. The surprise came after I realized these leeches continued charging me after my year was over. What I thought was a 1 year payment plan turned out to be an open ended contract where they could continue to take my money regardless that there was no services rendered. I first attempted to go to the range and talk to them. I was informed (rudely) that I signed the contract and they would do nothing about it, that I had to email someone to cancel my membership. I dont normally write negative reviews, with a buyer beware mindset, but felt it was necessary to let people know that this company will continue to take from you even if you dont use their services. I then wrote them and not so politely asked them to quit taking my money. The response further showed they are more interested in the money they took than to try and retain me as a future customer. Buyer beware, youll need it with these people.
Good selection and an awesome range. The wait can be long because of the covid policy, but that is better than just shutting down like a lot of the other gun stores have done.
Had a line out the door for gun sales. I explained I only needed a rifle case. They got me in and out right away. Also the range is AWESOME!!!!
Awful customer service. Unbelievable attitude. I’d highly recommend taking your business elsewhere.
IF they would eliminate one Bay to add elbow room and bigger dividers so you can’t see others muzzle flash & rifle muzzles it would be 4 STARS! (It’s still a very short range!)It’s close to home, BUT the shooting bays are SO SMALL & Narrow. (And all metal like shooting in a steel box, a layer of carpet etc would do wonders but I don’t think they can spare the 1/2” width it would take)There is no room to move, much less space to keep your stuff in view. I always have to put my backpack between my feet.
Received a gift card from my wife and took the basic handgun course. Loved it! Chuck and Dan did an excellent job at making it fun and welcoming. Both had a ton of knowledge. Went back for the rentals and Dan went above and beyond helping with rental selection.
Long lines and had no ammo in stock. Looking all over for 22 and 38 specials
I just want to start by saying I am a disabled veteran, and I use to love shooting at this place. Had a membership and tried to go every week. The staff were typically kind and helpful, and everything was good. Well, I ended up getting too sick to keep going, so I decided not to renew my membership. It was canceled in person and was assured it was taken care of. Fast forward almost two years, I was on the verge of getting a house when I get a credit hit for an uncollected debt from the shooting range. Not once was I contacted, not one shed of information or proof, and now it has interrupted my credit report. It is a shame this place decided to prey on a veteran, especially during his time of need.
Been going here for over 20 yrs. (From the old location & now the new place) & they have a great selection. The staff are very knowledgeable. Because they are busy (most of the time) they dont have time to deal with the snowflake mentality. Ive bought several weapons from them as well as having sights installed. The range is awesome & they offer a wide range of classes to help those that need it.Jesse R.
Decent place, staff are 50/50, some helpful some should just go home. I normally buy the card (pay for 3 get 5). My biggest issue is that they only allow annual members to shoot rifle calibers, which makes no sense. I dont go to the indoor range often enough to buy the annual pass. Dont think I will be going back.
After reading some of the negative reviews on here, I wasnt sure what to expect. This store came highly recommended by several extended family members and they had the lowest prices (I shopped around.) I came in with my dad, for moral support, and bought 2 handguns...a S&W 357 magnum w/ 4 barrel, and a S&W 44 magnum w/ 6 barrel, as well as 2 waist holsters. Both of the guns came with wooden grips but rubber grips were thrown in for free. We received EXCELLENT customer service. We were greeted by several employees as we walked in, and the gentleman helping us was honest, knowledgeable, patient. He answered all of our questions. All of the other customers in the store were being serviced. Friendly atmosphere. I will definitely come back again & recommend this store to my friends and family. Best prices in the area.
Staff is Great!! The range is clean and safe for the whole family. I have always had the best customer service and appreciate all they do for me and my friends. Classes are worth every penny, I have to say I have learned allot from all of there instructors. They are all great people!! Also I would like to say Andrew is a professional instructor and I would HIGHLY recommend him if you want to learn to shoot like a professional, no matter what you skill level is he will take the time and has all the patients needed to get you to a new level with your firearms!!! Thanks to all at Federal Way Discount Guns...
This review is for the range. The workers here are always friendly and helpful even when they are quite busy. The facility is very clean/well kept. Every time Ive gone to the range the other shooters are mindful/respectful. The range fee and rental fees are very reasonable. This is my go-to indoor range when the weather is cruddy. Keep up the good work!
Good selection of handguns and rifles. Knowledgable sales staff. Shooting can accommodate most any shooting discipline.
They act like customer service is a chore. Grow up Discount Guns. Go to Rainier Arms if you want real customer service.
This store has the best in-stock inventory of any gun store in the area.Excellent indoor range. They also have some of the most competitive prices on guns, mags and accessories.Very knowledgeable, helpful staff.Top notch.
Definitely do not recommend this place at all!!!!!!!!!! really rude as soon as you walk in. I was told that I was expected to show 3 other people how to handle a weapon which is definitely not the way to get started. If I could give zero stars I would gladly do it
Terrible place. disgusting customer service.
I have been here three times now. Once on the range, twice in the store. First of all the staff is very friendly and know their stuff. They even were great when I had my kid with me today, they were friendly with him too. Second, they have a pretty decent selection of guns, accessories, and holsters to look at. Third, both the range and store are clean and orderly. Fourth, when they didnt have the holster I wanted they didnt try to sell me on something I didnt want. They even suggested where I might find the one I wanted. Finally, the range is well lit and well ventilated. The range staff are professional and attentive to what is going on. Excellent all the way around. This will be my spot to shoot and shop for a long time to come.
Very professional and friendly staff. I was greeted as soon as I walked in the door. The selection is amazing and having a gun range at the facility made it very easy to decide what firearm was best for me. Firearms available to rent for range use, so if you are just trying to learn and get started/comfortable with shooting, this is a great place to be. I even met the owner there which is surprising to see an owner of a business this scale, still putting in his time to ensure the success of his business.
FWDG is the best gun store. They have a large selection of firearms with tons of stock and fair prices. But you have to remember this is a gunstore, the salesmen their will not baby you. If you have a question wait till its your turn and ask politely. There are times when you have to be patient because it does get pretty busy in there. Just be polite because without them we would not have a shop in the area of Federal Way. The workers there are human too. Just saw a guy today talk down to a worker and I thought that was disrespectful, just calm down. Anyway thanks FWDG for the 2 firearms you sold me.
Bought a pistol here in 94 and have been back several times since. Best prices around. Jake is always easy to talk to.Carls my go-to gunsmith when the need arises. 5 stars!!
Disappointed in the staff today. Bought a Panzar AR-12 from them. After waiting a week and then being told that the colored version of the gun I want wasnt going to be available. I was still ok and chose the black version. Only to come in and pick it up today and its not the style still I was actually told I was getting. Staff seemed to not care and be annoyed like I was being picky about it. You want what you seen when you spend your money if not otherwise let me know that it might be different up front. I was told you dont always get whats pictured and it could be some kind of change. But I see that on Jan 13th 2020 a guy on classic firearms in there review section of this gun and several others recently got the version I seen on there screen when I bought it and was told I was getting. Just didnt like today how unhelpful and uncaring they acted about it when its my money spent. Felt like I was just being rushed to leave a little bit. Like please just take this version your not completely satisfied with and go. Ive bought a couple guns from them over the years and planned on buying more in the future. But today kind of rubbed me the wrong way so I dont think ill be doing business here anymore. I feel now I cant trust Im going to get what I wanted and seen and paid for.
Took a class here very informative couldn’t be better definitely recommend
Great customer service 👍. Thanks Karl & Adam!
Cannot speak towards the storefront, just the range. Arms can be had cheaper many other ways. --- As far as the range, very respectable from what Ive seen up here so far. The range ammo is very reasonably priced. ---- I do understand the complaints about the staffs attitude. They kinda treated me like a fool til they asked if your former military. Then they seem to act right. There was however an older, taller gentleman (wish I would have gotten his name) who was very kind to a lady friend of mine. Was her first time shooting and he most certainly went above the call. When she tells her friends about her visit, she speaks well of him. ------ Nothing too bad to scare us off.
Super friendly and knowledgable staff with lots of emphasis on safety. Unlike some gun ranges, not at all condescending to women shooters. Also have a large selection for handgun rentals for on-site shooting, plus great prices in their gun store. They also offer a variety of courses, though I have not taken any of their courses.Easy to find off of Interstate 5.
Super friendly and knowledgeable staff with lots of emphasis on safety. Will answer my question without belittling me in any way. I bought my first gun at this location because they have unbeatable prices! 5/5 will being making more purchases in the future here!
TERRIBLE!!!! The manager here assaulted my dear friend! She was there harming no one and making no sign of trespassing. If need be, I will post the video!! It is on camera of him hitting her in the face. Do NOT shop here!!!!!!!!!
This was my first time shopping at Federal Way Discount Guns. Based on my experience, this is one of the busier stores in the area. Middle of the day and there was a steady flow of people looking for help. The people at the store are knowledgeable and willing to help. I dont think they have patience for rude people nor should they so wait your turn. Prices are great and selection is good. It was worth the drive from downtown for me.
I have been to a few ranges around the area. These guys by far are the most comfortable to come to both as a range and a shop. My M&P15 sport 2 was fixed by their gunsmith in shorter time then expected and works perfectly.
Friendly, super helpful. Moe is an exceptional staff member, he helped hook me up with a gun safe rep to get an extra set of keys. Clean facility, lots of choices, competitive pricing.
