I love this place! I’m visiting Detroit and I was made to feel so so welcome in this space. The vibe is super chill. The people are super warm. I genuinely felt they were interested in holding a conversation with me. They also knew the person in front of me’s order. The space and atmosphere outside is comforting and it is a good place to study. If you’re looking for your specific drink they can probably make it. They also have bubble tea. The tapioca wasn’t great, but maybe they weren’t fresh at the time! The coffee is good! Come and try this place!

A nice place in Ferndale for coffee or tea!

I have been an occasional visitor to this cafe. I like the vibe and the non-commercial feel. However on my latest visits I have not been at all satisfied with the product. I had a latte and I could not taste any espresso in it at all. So next I tried an Americano and it tasted more like coffee grounds than espresso. I regretfully will not be returning.

White Mocha with 2% milk and Whipped Cream on top was ordered; absolutely amazing. Quiet and chill atmosphere. Wish I was closer to visit and have my morning or afternoon chill spot. Alas, I shall have to visit when I can.Amazing spot, definitely visit if you are in town and want some coffee.

I love Java Hutt! The boba is so good and the food is affordable. Definitely a place I frequent regularly.

Great coffee, great staff, nice atmosphere. I love coming here in the afternoons to work on my laptop—Ive never not been able to find a seat somewhere. The baked goods are AMAZING, theyre all homemade and delicious. I highly recommend the chocolate bun! 😋 Ferndale is lucky to have such a great place like this, definitely check it out.

The coffee was decent and the pastries were too. Its a chill, laid back vibe and the barista was nice. There are a lot of plugs for charging and there is plenty of seating. Great for people watching on 9 Mile.

Great coffee! I would have planned a takeout bubble tea, had I known in advance that this item was served. Next time Ill try the hazelnut cookie sandwich. Felt clean and safe while picking up my items. Service is also attentive and friendly.

Love coming here for coffee. Prices are great and the coffee never tastes burnt. plenty of flavor syrups and drinks to try. The atmosphere reminds me of a uni cafe with people working on laptops or chatting. COVID: Mandatory masks and 6ft of course :) They also have hand sanitizer available and keep the place really clean.

I come here in the morning to get hot cider sometimes as an alternative to coffee. The coffee is awesome! they have delicious tasty sweet treats set for anyones palette. You dont have to just buy and fly.. there is considerable and ample seating for everyone to be comfortable and enjoy a nice hot cup of joe. Located on nine Mile and Woodward in Ferndale Michigan, bewhere there is a active nightlife and fine eating.

I ❤ Java Hutt for a variety of reasons, mainly the hospitality of the owner Java Hutt. She is respectful, warm, courtesy, client-centered and fast. The. quality of coffee that is served is superb, the prices are impressive. The atmosphere is calm, comfort and safe. Every time I come here its always clean for top to buttom and the restroom is clean and well stocked. I enjoy the music thats played here.....hey, what can I say.....I ❤ Java Hurt👍✌😊😀

This place is an A1 facility. All of the workers are super nice and helpful. The sweet Asian female is so caring and I look forward to seeing her all the time. She takes great orders and is very professional. I hope she continues to stay with the company as long as she intends.

Had a cappuccino. Very good. The area was busy with the rib festival. This was a nice quiet place away from the crowd. And there is library books close by. Perfect place to look over your recent acquisitions.

I have been going here for years. Legitimately one of my favorite coffee shops. Very nice staff, always a calm place to go and get work done. They also have a nifty rewards program. Just a very sweet place.

Ive been coming to Java Hutt for 7 years now. They open early enough to not having to pay $1/hour parking before 11am and open all day Sundays with free parking. If I take the bus its precisely on the the bus routes 710, 450, and 460. I prefer Java Hutt over Starbucks, Bigbee, Tim hortons, and even the other fast food chains. I love supporting this mom and pop shop. Theres always good people there. I sometimes meet my acquaintances and friends there also. The tenders a very nice. One of them knows me by name. From time to time I come here to get some good sandwiches, teas, muffins, people watch, and I hang out for a few hours or so. I love Java Hutt.

Java Hutt is an excellent coffee shop with friendly and relatable staff. The quality of the their coffee surpasses Starbucks and other coffee chains, while beating the prices of chains and independents alike. They make the coffee in a quick and timely manner, unlike many of the independents popping up in the Metro-Detroit area. Also, Java Hutt is a great place to socialize and meet new people. I regularly choose it over the competition.

Stop by for a great dark roast to go! This place gets extra credit for being able to serve coffee in boxes - I needed coffee for 4, and their carry out carton did the trick.

Great local coffee hangout. Coffee is always good. Seating is plentiful. The only thing I’d change is the front entrance situation. The door doesn’t close properly and it ices up and stays open a bit keeping the front of the location quite cold. If they added a little inner vestibule it would be a much nicer environment. Other than that it’s a great place and my go to coffee shop in downtown.

Decided to stop by for an iced coffee and a bagel with cream cheese. Staff was super friendly, service was quick, and the coffee and bagel were both great. Definitely will visit again!

This was a random stop. I rode my bike from ann arbor, stopped here and was pleasantly surprised. They are wonderful people! Legitimately, nice people I am happy to visit. The coffee was ok. The breakfast bagel was very good. But the owner (I assume, 2 wonderful Asian people) make me want to come here again. 5+ stars.

Typically I dont enjoy coffee shops, but I always love coming to Java Hutt. Its a cozy little place that can feel like a second home. The staff is always super kind, and I seriously mean that. Theyve got awesome sweet treats, too, and usually theres some candies available for like 50¢ or something.Love this place, really. I definitely recommend Java Hutt if youre looking for a friendly, cozy coffee joint to spend your evening.

This is one of my favorite cafe in the area. It is comfy, not pretentious, the food is great at a good price and there is a lot of natural light! I usually go to Cafe 1923 in hamtramck but when I get the chance, I love to have a tea and read there

The food is awesome. The spinach feta egg wrap, tastes like a 5 star meal. I dont understand how they take simple ingredients and make them taste so great.I cant write anything more or my girlfriend will make fun of me.

Love this placeIve been a longtime customer since the days of the hutt open 24hr and two stores. The place has maintained its heart over the years as a great place to get a great coffee or tea or food in any combination. Its is one of the scenic Ferndale original s that is still going and a great place to stop in or sit and have a cup or pot of tea and feel like its a community atmosphere.

My favorite place to work outside of work. Not pretentious. Plenty of tables inside and out, plus several comfy couches. Good variety of nice people. Great coffee, tea, meal and snack options. Reliable internet (tho not fast).

Great location, for trying to get things done without all the noise and hassle of overly crowded place. This place does need to be cleaned with care,tables were sticky with gnats. It has potential to be a great place for work a coffee and wifi

The service here is beyond amazing. Try the coconut coffee! I like that they give you a real mug if youre not taking it to go. Right on a main street so you can watch everything thats happening outside the big windows.

Ive been coming here for a bit over a year and have consistently enjoyed my time here! Cozy atmosphere (though theres limited spacing for parties of 3+), reasonable prices with a large selection of coffee/tea/blended drinks/sandwiches/wraps/baked goods/etc. The sandwiches are substantial and tasty.Today Nikia helped me, and they were very courteous, pleasant to talk to, and promptly helped me with my order (which turned out terrific!)Id definitely recommend coming here for a cozy little coffee shop with house made drinks and food.

Decently priced another place in Ferndales Quality dropped and their prices soared .too bad the other place used to be great .

Its an adorable little cafe with WiFi, coffee (and bubble tea!), and a small menu of grilled sandwiches. I wouldve absolutely given them five stars if my sandwich were any good. It absolutely got the job done (being my hunger), but it wasnt actually very good. I had the ham and cheddar press with tomato and had to take the tomato off. Something tasted strange about it. Maybe it needed extra seasoning? Black pepper? The cheese was also pretty bland and the ham was disappointing.My iced coffee and bubble tea were great though! And the barista was very sweet and friendly!I would maybe work on that food menu though. Maybe make the items a little bit more unique instead of just the run of the mill thoroughfare every little coffee shop in the country has...maybe better quality ingredients?

Alright coffee, not many tables. Bathrooms are generally kinda gross, with no paper towel. They also make you get a key from the front to use the bathroom. Kind of like elementary school....

Good caramel coffee, but just watch who makes your coffee. One of the baristas makes it very weak, I do believe its the owner. Please stick to the business and not the coffee. Otherwise swanky place with comfy couches and the ambience is perfect!

The sandwiches are very greedy which is a plus for me. I really enjoyed that first bite of their pesto mazzarella toast. Later on I tried their bubbly waffle which was surprisingly a very satisfying experience. The staff are not the nice but not the happiest people I have seen. The coaches are Soo comfortable though, and the vibe is pretty chill. A great place to sit and work for hours without worrying you are taking too much space for too long.

Good hot tea! chamomile tea is the best and the vegan cookies is addictive!...only thing is the only comfortable seat in the house is the couches...the hard chairs will annoy sometimes!

Im shocked that this poorly run establishment exists in Ferndale. The Asian woman working was so rude it was nauseating. According to previous reviews Im not the only one that has had a negative encounter with her. I live and hangout in Ferndale on a regular basis and will never walk into Java Hut again.

Cups and plates smelled really bad. Food wasn’t great either and the lady was not so responsive when told about the stinking smell from cups.

This is the best little coffee shop in Ferndale. Its comfortable it attracts a lot wide range of people both age-wise and interest wise you can feel completely comfortable here doing your homework, meeting a client overdosing on caffeine or getting the best sandwich year which is the Panini Press with spinach and tomatoes also you can get some really yummy seasonal teas and coffees. My personal favorites are iced Americano with almond milk and hot ginger tea Creations that they are always doing.
