The water is a navigable Water way and there for for public use. HOWEVER... all the ground surrounding the water is PRIVATE PROPERTY.

An amazing back story to this hometown swimming hole. Country setting beautiful scenery.

I drove out to this great swimming place in Festus yesterday only to discover that police were making everyone leave....the property owners on each side of the river posted no trespassing signs too. I spoke to the police and they said that people leaving their trash and a few used needles behind brought major concerns to the community. (The last time I went there....I walked along the both sides of the road and picked up a full trash bag of trash)

Caught 4 bass with my sin today love this place been coming here since I was a teen.

Parking here is a nightmare because it is a county road with no shoulder and so narrow it doesnt even merit a center line. Of course, parking on a county road in Jefferson county is punishable with ticketing and a fine so park at your own risk. Also, all the land around and under the creek is privately owned so being anywhere but ON the water leaves one open to trespassing charges. I have encountered drug users here and folks with shotguns in their side by sides. Also some come with dogs without leashes. All are dangerous and illegal here.

Ive always loved coming here for a place to go swimming in the country for all ages as I grew up. Now that I have kids and grandkids weve been here more than before. The best thing now that me and my gf have kayaks we can put them in on the opposite side of the swimmers and just have an amazing time together on our kayaks for free and close to home last minute kinda thing any day of the week. We just luv it😆😎😘

A wonderful place it is, but if people keep trashing it and trespassing it will be gone for future generations.

Please pick up your trash, or tell others to if youre going to fish/ swim here. Dont let them ruin it for everyone else.

A fun place to hang out, the fishing is okay. And the water and beach are amusing.

Needs a good cleaning, but other than that...good swimming, walking the creek and exploring for kids.
