My husband and I are both craft beer fans and love places where we can make our own six packs, so that we can try a variety of new (to us) beers. We’re in Flagstaff for a short vacation and stopped in to grab some beers to go with our takeout from a Thai food restaurant up the street.This didn’t seem to be your average store where beer goes to die like at the grocery store; The beers that we looked at here and chose had relatively recent canning/bottling dates and hadn’t been sitting there for forever.We haven’t tried all of our 6 pack yet, but we’ve definitely enjoyed the two that we have tried.The guy who was working when we came in this evening was also super helpful. He was friendly and had great recommendations without being pushy.Wish we had a place like this near our home!

This beer shop has a good selection and helpful staff. However, they dont understand one extremely important thing about good beer. It must stay cold. Because of this, all the great beer they carry I used to love in Oregon and I buy here is usually skunked.

I used McGaughs Smoke & Bottle to supply a group of 15 people for a 21 day Colorado River trip. James and his staff did a wonderful job. We couldnt be happier with the products and the level of service. I would highly recommend McGaughs to anyone who needed beverages in either Flagstaff or for a Colorado River trip.

The selection is fantastic and service is great. Dont be offended by some employees apparent apathy. I wonder what it takes to have a negative interaction at this store.. Just dont be a dick.. golden rule, people..

Fantastic selection of great beer. I had a peanut butter chocolate stout from a beaver brewery (I forget the name unfortunately) it was one of the best beers Ive ever had. They also have growler fills which I have never seen at a beer store. Go here.

Awesome selection of rare and specialty beers. Staff is helpful in recommending things you may not know about. You can spend $20 or $200 here and walk away with quality products, a wish list and an absolutely positive experience.

A one stop shop for all of your beer, wine, and tobacco needs. Fantastic selection of beer, wine, and cigars, and a good selection of Mead. Lots of local stuff. Typically has things that are hard to find anywhere else. Very knowledgeable and personable staff.

Great place for quality products. The owners here are great and give you that personal experience you can only get in a small shop like this. Dont think the selection suffers because of the size, this place has it all!

I must of run into the owner with the same issues as described by many here. I was excited to get some local brews and was in a hurry since I left the family waiting outside. I entered and perhaps hastily asked the cost of a mixed six pack. Instead of a reasonable answer, I got a diatribe about how I needed to go a gas station to get beer. I gave him one dig since my question could have been better worded, however he just kept on going and going on how I should shop elsewhere (in-between veiled insults) so I left. Ill leave out how I really felt in order not to lower myself to his level, but I cant remember ever being treated so poorly in a retail establishment.

Has many beers from locsl to foreign. Nice man behind counter, helpful, polite. Beer and liquor is extensive. Priced better than store or grocery. Has singles, 50% off area. Stop here 1st for booze.

Great bottle shop with a far reaching selection. McGaughs was a bit pricier than expected. However, the advise and service provided was spectacular.

McGaughs is craft beer heaven. Grab a six pack or singles of your favorite IPA, ale, stout, or porter. They have inexpensive growler fills with great local beer too. The staff is always friendly and helpful.

Top notch American Craft bottle shop, super-knowledgable staff. Great vibe and discussion of trends and available products, great recommends on local products. Excellent mid West, Colorado, Arizona and CA distribution. Bells and Founders, Alpine and Almanac, ODells in a can and even some Avery. All six packs can be split, and six packs are discounted.

If you are there for cigars the selection its good... Knowledge from the staff about cigars was not quite there.

McGaughs is great. The selection is the best around. The crew are a nice bunch but dont put up with any bs. Love that about them. We visit regularly and are always amazed with the infusion of new beers. Who knew there were that many great beers out there. Dont listen to the nannies that boo-hoo this place. McGaughs is the real deal. Unless of course you are cut from that cloth. It makes for funny post though.

RUDE people and i will never go back. They actually told a CUSTOMER to leave because his cologne was too strong. I thought they were kidding but to my surprise they were serious.. I could careless about their selection of life destroying products!!!

They were OK for a while, and then I met the owner I will never go back. I was on my lunch break and walked down to the store. I was on the phone with my Dad and I didnt want to walk into the store carrying on a conversation so I stepped into their parking lot. After 2 minutes the owner came out and asked if I was a customer, I informed him I was a longtime customer. He asked what I was doing and I told him talking to my Dad. Then he just stood their staring at me. I asked if there was a problem and he said yes and that I needed to leave because I was being too loud. All I could think was you are located on the second busiest streets in town and I’m way quieter than the hundreds of cars going by. I told him that if he wanted me to leave I would, but I would take my business else ware forever. He then informed me he didnt need people like me as customers. So I left. Just so everyone knows I’m not some sloppy looking smuck. I am required to dress very professionally for work and that day was no exception.Their selection is limited, their prices are high, and their service is worse than Wal-Mart. I was shopping there to support a local business, now I will find a different one to support, and you should to.

Prices are good, selection is diverse, and the people know their beer. My go-to place in Flag for hard to find and oddball beers. Cant help but think the 1 and 2 star reviewers have a personal axe to grind, Ive never experienced bad service and Im a regular.

The owner is an absolute horror of a human being. He is quite rude and disrespectful, to the point that one might think theres something wrong with him. At any rate he wont get my business, and I plan to urge all of my friends to go to the mobil store in the future.
