The Electrolux Washer and Dryer I bought from Grand appliance broke. When I called Grand Appliance for service they referred me to Centricity. I purchased an extended warranty from Grand Appliance and Centricity is the repair service provider. I waited an hour on hold for Centricity customer service dept and after a long and complicated conversation with them they would not schedule a service appt. unless I could confirm the serial #’s of the appliances. I was unable to since I was calling from work. Failing this attempt to obtain service I went to the store in Forest Park. where I purchased the appliances. The total amount of my order was $32,000.00 to complete a total home renovation. Heidi The sales representative there made an effort to help me get the service I paid for. She did her best to make it good. Then comes Cory the store manager who says I’m not entitled to service because the Electrolux set I exchanged for the Maytag set never got covered under The warranty I purchased. Then it became contentious ending with Cory throwing his card at me. I reminded him of his obligation to serve the customer as a representative of Grand Appliance especially if he were in a Managment. Somehow the contractor service rep Lena got involved since she took our original order. She promised to get me the service I paid for. So now I have no scheduled service appt. and ni working washer and dryer. What should I do
I needed a needed a new dishwasher but all of the .com sites said that the model I wanted wasn’t available in my area. So, I called Grand Appliances and spoke to a real person - Heidi. She looked it up and answered all my questions and although the dishwasher was back ordered I placed my order. Great Price & Great Service!
My 19 yo fridge died right after the holiday weekend. Online shopping at Grand and the “other big appliance store” indicated very limited options for what would work in my kitchen. Other guys concept of “in stock” was delivery in 2 weeks. On Wednesday i Went to Grand Appliance in Forest Park, to look at 3 I listed in their website as Instock. Worked with Jeff to find one that didn’t require me to buy features I had no way to use (door access water ice maker since I had no water on the only wall it could go on). Jeff worked some magic and was able to get my new fridge delivered on Friday using what I’ll affectionately call their pity policy of saving a delivery slot or 2 each day for desperate folks with no power (or no working fridge). Couldn’t be happier with the overall process. Not the way I had hoped to replace my fridge, but given the circumstances, I couldn’t have asked for a better outcome. Would definitely recommend you shop local.

This is the second time I’ve purchased appliances here. Both occasions the staff has been extremely helpful and friendly. While I haven’t received this delivery yet, the previous delivery went off without a hitch and the drivers were polite and respectful. They were also careful to wear their masks at all times. I’d have no issue at all to recommend them to anyone.

The store has a convenient location in the neighborhood of Oak Park, River Forest, and Forest Park. It has a reasonably broad inventory to meet most people’s needs and then some. The prices are very good. The staff is helpful and courteous. I’ve done business here before. We’ve just done business now. And my family plans on doing business here in the future. I was in the market for a new dishwasher and over-the-stove microwave. The people at Grand Appliance were extremely helpful when looking. They talked me through which dishwashers would be best for my condo. They are also very reasonably priced. I looked at some dishwashers at some other stores online and Grand Appliance’s merchandise was competitively priced. The people working also followed good COVID-19 practices (social distancing and mask wearing). Overall, shopping there was a great experience! I can’t wait to have my dishwasher and microwave installed!

Update 2/25/2021: within minutes after posting my review, below, grand customer service contacted me. we came to an agreement regarding an appropriate reimbursement for the installation and the time and trouble that followed. i very much appreciate that this long headache has finally been resolved, i just wish it didnt take me publicly shaming them to get anything done :(review date: 2/20/21. This happened 11/2020:My husband and I spent hours pouring over dishwashers online. Though we were severely restricting in person visits due to covid at that time, we opted to go in store for the expertise of the staff. The staff member we worked with seemed to know less about the products than we did from the website. He was also consistently wearing his mask below his nose, which made us both very uncomfortable, from a safety standpoint. We came home disappointed in our experience.We continued to research online, and eventually called the store to place our order, as we still wanted to prioritize local businesses over Home Depot/Lowes/Menards. We confirmed several times over the phone that we need delivery and installation. I even inquired as to the cost of the installation of the dishwasher, as it was much more than the installation of the dryer we had bought from Grand a few months back. When he read us the total, it seemed lower than expected. And that total includes delivery and installation, correct? I asked. He confirmed that it did.He emailed us the invoice the next day, which listed the dishwasher, delivery, and set in place. We emailed the salesperson back to inquire, for the 3rd time, that the installation was scheduled. He never responded.Our dishwasher was delivered on time, 2 days before Thanksgiving. And, surprise, was not installed. I spent hours on the phone trying to re-schedule installation. My huge dishwasher sat in a box in the middle of my kitchen for over a week, over the biggest cooking holiday of the year. The following week, when the installation crew came, we found out no one had brought the installation kit. The crew had to leave our home, go back to the store, and were luckily able to acquire the kit that was forgotten. During install, our pipes were damaged, and we had to call a plumber and have them replaced, at our own expense.Throughout late November and December, I have spent hours on hold, and left at least 4 messages to Grand Customer Service, and have never heard back. At this point its been over 2 months and Ive all but given up on being reimbursed for the installation. I was previously recommending Grand, as we had a good experience over the summer with our dryer. My family bought several appliances from Grand on our recommendation. Unfortunately, I can no longer recommend Grand after being ghosted by Customer Service after this whole ordeal. Mistakes happen. But Customer Service should have addressed this. Or at least returned my calls.
Forest Park is where I grew up and I wanted to shop locally especially during this Pandemic. I looked online first for a stove and microwave and decided Grand Appliance on Madison St had a good selection and competitive prices. I walked in and was greeted and then left alone to shop which I greatly appreciated. Salesperson checked in on us and gave good information about the appliances I were interested in. Smooth checkout and great customer service. I will go back for my dishwasher soon!

The only drawback was availability of refrigerators I wanted BUT Frank was honest and provided thorough information regarding the domino effect of OVID 19 on product availability. I brought my 91 year old dad in to buy a refrigerator. We were greeted and told they would be with us in a minute, which they were.They were cheaper then Abt and only charged 19.00 to deliver, install and take away. They also were able to give us a definitive delivery date which Abt was not able to do. Make sure to ask for Cory - he was wonderful to work with. The price was the best around!

Ended up at Grand Appliance after 3 other big box stores. My refrigerator died and desperately needed one that day to avoid hundreds of dollars of food going bad. Grand Appliance even had a few days wait. After explaining my situation and ready to give up. Paul LeFaivre sold me one off the showroom floor. Brand new and perfect condition. Went in to shop for a stove and microwave. A salesperson greeted us and let us wander and shop without following us around for a few minutes. He checked in with us for any questions we had. I am sorry to say that I am so very disappointed with Grand Appliance. I have been patiently waiting for the delivery of the 3rd dishwasher. The 1st one was damaged by the installer who expressed to me that he was in a hurry to get home. They did give me another dishwasher which was delivered damaged. That installer was totally unprofessional and created a leak under my sink due to disconnecting the dishwasher and leaving a hole for water to leak when the sink drains which is against code, according to the plumber I had to hire. They did say they would pay for that. Besides that, I ordered a trim kit for the range I bought and the guy botched that up too. My contracter needs to reinstall it as it is all crooked. I may add too that they nicked my newly painted cabinets and scratched my new range which I didnt complain about. At this point, month later after this entire debacle, I still do not have a dishwasher, there is still a leak under my sink and I dont know when they are going to deliver another dishwasher. The experience has turned into a nightmare. So, Paul, I believe you are the owner, what are you going do to make this right? I just want my dishwasher and I want installers who know what they are doing and I fear for the installation and delivery of the refrigerator. I hadn’t planned on stopping at Grand but drove past one in the town next to where I live and decided to stop. I found just what I was looking for and for less than another store’s outlet price. Easy shopping experience and knowledgeable sales people. Looks like I just found my new go to place for appliances.
Price was the best we foundand we looked extensively and they are local.However, the installers could not get it to run and no one called to ask how things went atinstallation. It cost an extra $300 to get an electrician out and fix a switch. Not Grandsfault, but I never even got a call back after Iinformed the sales people that the unit was not working.
While I was bummed my stove gave up the ghost, I was so pleased to have a reason to shop locally at Grand in Forest Park. Our sales person, Frank, was very knowledgeable about the stoves and did not try to sell me more of a stove than I wanted. We actually had a good time and spent much less than I thought wed have to! Delivery came a few days later and was again, a pleasant experience. Fast, professional and friendly.Then, just last week, my sister-in-laws dryer gave out and so we called Frank and bought one over the phone! Again, smooth and easy. Delivery was a little problematic because of an error (mine, I think) with the address, but all turned out well.I would absolutely buy my next appliance at Grand and recommend it to my friends.
