I moved to Atlanta in 2002, Ive used Ron on my cars since Ive been here. Friendly shop and excellent service! He kept my 2000 Navigator running like new for 16 years! He recently worked on my Jaguar XKR...the dealership wanted almost 1K to get my headlight working, Ron did it for a fraction of the costs! Lastly Ive owned my 1976 Datsun 280Z since I was 19 years old, Im 54 now...Ron is getting it running again so it can be a daily driver lol. So far he has worked on my Navigator, Ford Escape, Dakota, Datsun 280Z, Honda Civic coupe, Honda Civic sedan, and my Jaguar XKR! I enjoy dropping my car off and getting excellent service in return.

Ron is the Ford man! He is one of the most honest and genuine mechanics I have ever met. I would highly recommended his services!

Best mechanic I have ever used. I refer my friends to him all the time. Great service and my car is always fixed properly. Hes an older gentlemen and super friendly and polite.

I have been taking my vehicles to Ron and his son Mark at Promotive for about 10 years and even now, when I live more than 40 minutes away, I continue and will continue to do so. Heres why:Ron is not necessarily the cheapest mechanic in town. I can call around and often beat his price on things (though I stopped even bothering with that years ago). However, I know I can trust him. He is not going to try and sell me parts and services that I dont need. Ive even had him almost refuse to do certain things on the car that I suggested because he believed it would be a waste of my money and would not contribute to fixing the problem, even though hed make money on it.To me, being able to trust Ron is worth more than anything. I know he will always stand by his work... and sometimes go above and beyond and cover things that werent even really his fault.I have seen on some other reviews that some consider him grumpy and terse. I disagree... I find him to be somewhat dry in his wit and direct. He will tell you the facts as he sees them and Ive yet to have him ever not admit it when he was wrong. That is exactly what I want in a mechanic. My only complaint is that he is not a plumber/HVAC technician too.

I wish I could not give a star at all because this place is undeserving! My husband took his work van here because it had a starting up problem. He met with Ron who told him he could fix the problem and gave him an estimate on time, parts and labor. A week later we went to pick up the van. Ron turned into Rude Ron he told my husband the price had doubled, but the van still wouldnt start. When we opened up the hood parts were not put back together and we found two hose pipe cut. Never again will we do business with this place!!

Took my jeep in for a leaky wheel gasket 2 days later it leaked again took it back day 3 he says check jeep for a recall. Finally decided to take it elsewhere, first time done right. Called Ron asked for refund on what I paid the other shop. Answer was he warranty his work keep bringing it back until he gets it right. Never again will I use promotive nor will I reccomend. At the end I ended paying 572.00 for a repair that should have only cost 200.00

Useless, couldn’t press off a carrier bearing on a cv axle. Gave me his worthless advice of getting the right part or buying from another shop rather than Rock auto. Save yourself the time and headache with this guy. Btw a carrier bearing takes 5 mins tops to remove and press a new one on, I know you can read this too Ron.

Terrible mechanic. Kept my car for weeks and still didnt fix it right. Very rude, extreme attitude. This shop doesnt deserve your money and they certainly wont get another dime of mine.
