This really is what old school record shops were like. Peter is my guy, hes got a great range of product and the best clearance rack in Chicago.

Definitely worth a trip, whether you need help finding something, you want to browse, or just want to talk art with the cool owner. Prices are competitive and the selection is great. Places like Old School, with fair prices and a friendly vibe are worth coming out to support .

One of my favorite shops in Chicagoland hands down. Pete is a blast to talk to and has helped me find a ton of music that I never would have happened upon without his expertise. The Old School is a true digging experience. I have been in at least 8 times over the past couple of years and always find a new stack.The mark down system is really great and makes prices for rare pieces closer within reach.Come here with plenty of time and don’t underestimate the bargain bins.

This little shop has a wide variety which you can be lost in timeGreat prices and yes if you want to ask a question of what you curious of the artist of a song he the one to ask! This is a terrific store with a knowledgeable owner. Located in a less obvious place than in the past—now on Desplaines just south of Madison—but definitely worth seeking out and supporting.

Love coming here, the owner Pete is a great guy love talking to him about music he’s very knowledgeable about every genre. I love this Chet Baker album he recently sold me. He’s the best your going to find in town if you need to sell some records that are collecting dust gives you a fair deal. I love the selection he’s always got the newest vinyls and cds and is willing to order you anything that’s accessible. A smaller store but has a lot of treasures and everything’s priced fairly. My favorite store in oak park because Pete treats you like a friend and tries his best to recommend anything your looking for. His new store is very organized and you always feel welcome when you walk in. You can tell he’s in it for the passion of music. Awesome store!! Awesome Customer Service and Selection.

My experience I believe couldve been a tad bit better. The CSR was apparently VERY knowledgeable, obviously so he was very talkative. (Not to me though) He spent the entire time while I was in the store talking to another customer, that was there just browsing not conducting business. For the reason i went there he was VERY HELPFUL otherwise. The trades that I presented went much better than I expected!! I think if I could have gotten him to be a tad bit more personable toward me it would have been much better. Yet and still I would go back for the good prices not to make any album shopping pals.TRADES ARE WORTH THE VALUE!!!!! 💸💸💸💸💸💸#betterthanrecklessrecords

Love this place. Im here every chance I get. The owner is very friendly and the prices are affordable.

This is a dedicated Records store, the main focus is vinyl. There are CDs and DVDs too but that does not seem to be the focus. Be ready to dig, there vinyls are more setup for storage than for sale. I have been to this place a few times and found some Jems, but each time spent an hour browsing.

Great place if you have time to search through a large selection of second hand and lightly used albums, CDs and movies.

Good selection, but some records that were labeled very fine were definitely not very fine. While I was there, I found a dog bite affecting the first four tracks on a used LP by The Police. They were asking full price, as if the dog bite didnt affect playback or the value of the record.

Good spot for used and new records, some less common items and singles available. Pricing appears to be based via Amazon or discogs

Great selection of old school vinyl (jazz & rock especially, there are some good sections of uncategorized dance music 12” to dig through). The CD collection is worth mentioning, I found some really cool CD’s & compilations that I didn’t expect to find
