This isnt a store for everyone, but if you are in need of specific electronic components, its the place. The staff seems to have an encyclopedic knowledge of parts and their inventory.

This place is awesome! If you are an electronics hobbyist or in the repair business (I am), Mountain States is essential! To those complaining about prices, you know nothing about basic economics and you dont buy parts very often. To have a store like this in town is absolutely invaluable so we should all support it every way we can.

I am from out of town and Mountain State Electric was like a Radio Shack had the parts I needed and great prices.

Always super helpful, knowledgeable (had saved me both time and money!), and great prices (almost always beats online sources, and they have a huge inventory on hand, I check with them first before looking online these days!) Great resource, Fort Collins is better off for having them here!

Great place to get specialty items for electronics projects. Nothing else like it in Fort Collins. Probably nothing else like it for 75 miles in any direction.

For a simple electronics project I decided that I would rather pay a little more to purchase the parts locally. First off, I can say that the service was pretty good. The store clerk was able to pick all of the little components quickly and was friendly. However, when it was all rung up I found myself paying roughly three times as much for the same product. I understand that competing with the internet is difficult but the price disparity was frankly appalling.

I own an older subaru with keyless entry fobs. Both fobs had the buttons break loose from the circuit board. To replace them at the dealer was an eye opening price point, and replacing them with generics through an auto parts store did not have the appropriate amount of buttons....I called down to Mountain States and asked if they did soldering, to my delight not only did they solder the price point was one quarter of the dealership replacement cost. They were courteous, knowledgeable, and quick to return the fobs to me!

This is a wonderful, locally owned shop with a couple of great guys to help you out. I started buying from these guys in college to do electronics projects for classes and I will keep coming back. Yes, they cost more than the internet, but who doesnt? This little shop is great for when you need parts FAST or if you dont know what something is called and you cant figure out anything on the net.

Helpful and friendly staff that helped me with my first soldering project. Provided me with everything I needed to complete my project and even offered to show me how to start soldering.

Called in only needing 3 small wires soldered quoted me 5 to 10 dollars. Show up get work done then charges me 45 dollars seriously. When confronted about the price he said and I quote oh that was just me talking on the phone. So do yourself a favor and take your business elsewhere.
