Ive taken my 2004 Honda here twice, and both times were really good experiences. Vinny told me beforehand what the costs would be, and the estimates were always accurate. It was easy to get ahold of him with questions and he got my car back to me quickly. Liz called a day or two after I got my car to make sure everything was running smoothly. Theyre friendly and professional. Id recommend them.

Fast, courteous service. Great staff. They provided me with a courtesy ride home and picked me up when my car was ready. The driver, Charles was great, very customer oriented. My car is shifting perfectly. This business was recommended time by a friend and I will now recommend it to everyone who needs transmission work. They also do all kinds of mechanical work but I cant speak to that aspect as I did not partake in those services. However, I do trust them.

I have an old classic car that sat unused in the garage at my fathers house for over 20 years. Vinnie and the guys and gals here took very good care of both me, and my car. They did what I would call a basic restoration on the car, doing what was needed to get it road worthy again. Basically every rubber mechanical component was replaced, from brake lines and cylinders, suspension bushings, steering components, fuel tank and fuel lines, as well as having the transmission rebuilt and clutch replaced, and the carburetors rebuilt. I have had the car back a few weeks now and have put a few hundred miles on the car without issue. They really did go through everything and made sure I would be good to go before telling me it was ready....they didnt just do a rush job and push me out the door. I will definitely be using Gold Coast Transmissions again!

This is my second time going to gold coast transmission, and it has been nothing but a great experience. They do what they say and very transparent with their information. They follow up to ensure theres nothing wrong with the work they put in and also if its ever something wrong they jump on it right away. Awesome transmission place and I would bet my bank account that you will get very good quality work.

This Review is almost 7 months over-due but hopefully it makes it even more powerful of a review by doing so. I had a Total Transmission Overhaul done on my 07 Dodge Nitro...People were saying you are crazy for doing that on such an old car-Its time for a new car, treat yourself to a new car.Walking into a mechanic shop you have never been to can make you very skeptical, But I almost felt immediately at ease and trust that I was truly in the right hands with Vinnie, the Center/Shop Manager. He explained in detail the diagnosis... why whats happening, how its happening, what the plan of action would be....everything was straight forward, nothing hidden or shady. He sympathized that it was an expense that nobody wants to invest and did everything he could to estimate the job fair/affordable for both of us.During the quarantine when the gyms were closed I picked up jogging, and every time I jogged passed and now on my drives back home from work I pass by and am so Thankful for the Job/Quality of work they did on my truck- Vinnie overseeing the job being done by his top notch team of super qualified mechanics- I can Truly say They made my Truck drive like New Again!! so glad I chose Gold Coast-This is my first review Ive ever done on anything, but I felt the word had to get out that You will be 110% satisfied with the work they do on your car. We have used Gold Coast Transmissions a number of times and would highly recommend them. The first time we used them to repair a leak from the transmission on our BMW 335i. They were very professional and affordable, even though they went through our insurance company and we had no money out of pocket. They are very honest and reliable, with excellent communication which is why we returned to them for other non-transmission related issues. Vinnie (the owner?) called us regularly with updates and information and is easy to talk to and explains issues in a way that us non-gearheads can understand. FYI, there have been no issues whatsoever with the transmission since that first repair way back when.

I brought my 2016 VW Golf Sportswagon to Gold Coast Transmissions after the dealer misdiagnosed the problem claiming a new clutch kit was required to repair my clutch pedal with an estimate cost of $1800. I came back due to my first GREAT experience with Gold Coast and Hamilton. I brought my 2017 Lexus is200turbo and my girlfriends 2015 Passat to get it’s maintenance and rotations done. Second experience was just as great as the first. I HIGHLY recommend everyone to give them a try. VERY efficient, professional and even worked with me on getting cars done ASAP. I dug it, heres why:* Big-like a car dealership in back* Clean--squeaky clean, I like that, that is pride in ownership* They do all sorts of repair work and priced surprisingly well and fair* Heavy duty lifts for larger, heavy, or over-sized vehicles* Discounts for 1st responders, active duty military and teachers--STRONG!I noticed their labor rate posted clearly for all to see. Professional shop that provides excellent service and stands behind their work. As a small business owner it was important for me to be able to look ahead and guarantee my vehicle would be available for at least the next two years. I went with Gold Coast for a transmission rebuild because I know they have been around for a long time and I wanted a shop that would back up their warranty. I am glad to say that is what they do! Original service was professional and fairly priced. I took it in for the 1 year check-up and they did a little extra tuning. Then at 23,000 miles from the original repair I had a failure due to a sensor. Brought it in not expecting much considering it was so close to the expiration of the warranty. Vehicle was ready the next day with no issue or charge. Easy, fast, ”Repair was covered by your warranty, no charge. Here is your key and paperwork, thank you.” Van is running great again and I am very pleased!

Ripoff, Scam, STAY AWAY!I brought my car, 2010 Jeep Wrangler, to “Gold Coast Transmission” on July 2017 with a random “clicking” noiseAfter diagnostics, Vinnie called me and said they found the problem and it will cost $1200 to repair. I asked him (Vinnie) if he heard the “clicking” noise and he said “Yes”. I agreed to the price and asked him to start working on my car.When I came to pickup my car, Vinnie hands me a bill of $3033.72. I was very upset and asked him why the price has changed, Vinnie explained that during the repair they found more issues with my car that they had to fix, so the additional parts and labor effected the cost. (Upset, disappointed and very frustrated) I agreed to pay the full amount (even though I felt ripped off). After I made the payment Vinnie brought me my keys and mentioned I have 1-year warranty for the repair.Shortly after leaving auto shop (Gold Cost Transmission) the “clicking” noise was back. I called Vinnie the next day expressing my concern about the “clicking” noise back and he told me to keep driving it and the noise might “go away” and that they’ll “look into” that when I bring the car for the “10-day checkup”. Two weeks later I brought my car back for the scheduled checkup, reminding Vinnie about the “clicking” noise. They said the car is fine and they only had to tighten up a few loose bolts in the rear suspension. I picked up the car and the noise came back in less than an hour of driving.Knowing I have the warranty and a full year of “dealing” with this problem.I kept bringing my car back to “Gold Coast Transmission” asking them to investigate the “clicking” noise issue.In a course of 10 months I brought my car to “Gold Coast Transmission”, 4 times, complaining about the “clicking” noise with no luck of fixing the problem (after paying over $3000) feeling very frustratedOn June 2018, the “clicking” noise, became unbearable and I was determined to fix this issue before my warranty is about to expire (and after spending all that time and money). I took my car back to “Gold Cost Transmission” and rented a replacement car for myself.My car was with “Gold Coast Transmission” for about 2 weeks and during this time we had the same routine: they’re letting me know the car is ready and that they found a few loose bolts. Only this time, I tested the car in their parking lot, reproducing the “clicking” noise with one of their mechanics, with me in the car. So, when they heard the noise with me in the car, they had to take it back try again.During those 2 weeks, Vinnie called 3 times and said the car is ready, he said “I Guarantee” (twice in 2 different conversations) that there is no problem and that they fixed it the first time. But I was very determined, and I asked him to check again and again. After 3 “false” tries telling me the car is fine, Vinnie called and said, “We took a closer look and we found the problem”. They worked on the car for a few days and I came to pick up the car, the “clicking” noise was gone, but Vinnie hands me a $2090.88 bill.AGAIN, very upset, I tried reasoning with him (Vinnie) saying that “clicking” noise was never fixed and that I wouldn’t have to pay more than the original payment ($3033.72) if they fixed it the first time, and he answered: “You’re probably right”...but they didnt give me my car back without the additional payment ($2090.88). I ended up dealing with them legallyRipoff, Scam, STAY AWAY!

We had driven from Maryland to Florida and the car started making weird noises. I took my car to Gold Coast and they were amazing. Super friendly, honest mechanic, did good work, and the facility is actually really nice. My car will definitely make it back to Maryland, I only wish they had mechanics like this where Im from.

I have an second gen ram 2500 diesel, 350,000+ Miles on it,everyone I need parts its special order this or cant find it anymore etc etc.. ended up needing a trans rebuild after the guys did an inspection on it. I kinda knew theyd say it, didnt feel like they tried to take advantage of me at all.got it back on the road very quickly, any questions my wife or I had were answered very clearly and concisely. The price was fair the time it took was also very good. Had a hiccup about two weeks later. Called Vinny and Liz, explained what was happening. They had the truck back in there parts ordered and installed out the door again in under 24 hours!. Clean shop, clean front waiting area..Id absolutely take my other two older trucks there..

Gold Coast Transmission.....Vinny....is a shyster. Car was at his shop for a month before any calls were made to explain what was wrong. When he called he acted as if the car was just sitting at his shop with no direction. Upon speaking with Vinny, he explains parts of the transmission had actually exploded. When told repairs would be done elsewhere, he then explains he would have to place the transmission in the trunk. After starting what I thought was a fair price, the work was completed. The receipt has no indication on method of payment and no clear indication of what work was done. Various debris (dirty, filthy shop rags) a long with severely stained seat covers was how I found my vehicle. When asked about documentation regarding the repairs, they refused. I am filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, Help Me Howard, and the Attorney General of the State of Florida for deceptive business practices and price gouging.

They do very good work and they stand behind it but make sure to get a quote in writing. I’ve had three experiences where Vinnie quotes me a price to get my business but I️ always end up paying 200-300 dollars more than what he told me. But that’s my fault for not getting it in writing, even though they should call me before jacking up the price on me.

My Honda needed the transmission fixed and a gasket for an oil leak. The wait was worth it because they solved my issues. Months later, when my check engine light went on, I did not hesitate to call Vinnie. He told me what the issue was and I was able to get back on the road. Hes an honest man and will tell you what needs to be done. The whole staff is pleasent as well.

I am blown away. After receiving the terrifying news from my trusted mechanic that it was time to get rid of my car... transmission slipping, major oil leaks and it is 10 years old, I had to face the harsh reality that my car was worth nothing... I began to explore options, buy a new or used car? Repair my car? What to do? I don’t want or need a new one, I don’t drive much... a new or used car is expensive, repairing mine is expensive... I don’t want car payments... if I fix it there is no guarantee it’ll be any good... oh what to do???? I spoke with several transmission mechanics, considered my options, then a friend passionately recommended Gold Coast and gave me Vinny’s number. I live an hour north, but I was desperate so I called him... from the moment he spoke to me I knew he had his finger on the pulse, he took all the drama out of it and made it simple. Completely comforting, and without an obvious agenda made me feel reassured. I felt like I had a solution and although not cheap, his pricing was fairer than the rest. Never have I seen a mechanics store so well organized and clean. No dog and pony show here, they are the real deal. My car was fixed in two days, with constant updates from Vinny himself. All 4 leaks repaired, new transmission and running better than ever before. I have a 2008 Ford Escape XLS V6, and it is running better than it did 10 years ago when I first bought it. Yep it cost to fix, but a heck of a lot cheaper than anything I could buy. Took it to my mechanic and he was blown away by their work. The fact that it comes with a warranty is also reassuring, but the best bit is having my car back. Thanks Vinny!

Not sure words accurately describe the tremendous service and personal attention to detail that I received from Gold Coast Transmission and specifically its owner, Art! From mitigating the frustration of dealership run around to communication after hours to specifically identifying and then fixing the issue with my vehicle, I could not be any more pleased with the professional and courteous manner in which I was treated. Yes transmission issues are frustrating and can be costly, however Art and his team worked diligently to locate the problem, discuss options and repair at a fair and reasonable price. I paid for a new transmission in 2014 and received a 2 year warranty on it. I thought this would be a long term solution to my transmission issue (Only 6 yr old Nissan). But the transmission started giving problems & my car became INOPERABLE well before 2 years.Because I relocated out of South Florida since the repairs were done, I had to pay hundreds of dollars to have my car transported to Gold Coast to get the repairs done under the warranty. Throughout this process, however, Vinnie was passive aggressive towards me when I expressed concerns about the car having problems so early on. I also had to insist that he give me in-writing the work that was actually done to the car.Not long after my car was transported back to my city, I started to notice problems with the transmission AGAIN. I knew that the warranty was about to end now, So I drove the car BACK this time. Vinnie kept my car for 2 full business days then claimed he could find nothing wrong with the car. When I tried to express my disappointment with having problems with the transmission so soon & my concern that the warranty was about to end, he proceeded to SHOUT at me in the lobby that there was nothing wrong with the car, what do I want him to do etc. I actually ended up leaving the shop in tears! I felt so ripped off having paid thousands of dollars less than 2 years prior, then to be bullied when I tried to express my concern as a paying customer.Another staff member actually ran after me to try to fix the situation but I was only in town for a few days & could not leave my car any longer. And by this point I was done with being subjected to Vinnie’s rude & passive aggressive behavior towards me when I had NEVER been unruly with them. I unfortunately CANNOT recommend their services.

I am very disappointed with this company. I brought my 2003 Dodge Ram in for troubleshooting. They took a five minute look at my vehicle and told me that I would need a new transmission . they wanted to charge me $2000 for it a new rebuilt transmission . Knowing this is a very large company and very well known I believed every word the owner was telling me. I decided to give it a week and get a second opinion on my transmission. I took my truck down the street to jet transmissions within 15 minutes they diagnosed my pickup truck they were able to repair the transmission give me a warranty and have it all done within 3 hours for $400. Before you go to Gold Coast and pay I believe a second opinion should always be taken as they are not honest.

Currently shopped for a transmission and finally decided on Gold Coast in Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood. They offer a warranty of 2 years or 24k miles. Hoping this all goes well as I never had an issue with transmission before. I am Hollywood resident for many years. Always remember their tv/radio commercial and jingle. Hopefully this was sign that I could trust in them if ever I needed to shop for a transmission. will post my final experience upon completion of work. SO FAR SO GOOD! Very upfront with information. This place is a scam!! Stay away. They charged us 750.00 just to let us know what was wrong with the transmission. Once they had us hooked with the 750.00 they tried to charge 3300.00 dollars to rebuild a transmission on a 2014 Chevy equinox. Once we ended up getting multiple quotes from other shops with great reviews we were able to get the same work done for only 1450.00 with a 1 year warranty. Once we told the shop we did not want to do the work there they took almost a week to put the transmission back together causing significant rental car cost. I wouldnt recomend this place to anyone, oh and by the way they dont do the repairs in house at this location they send it somewhere else to get the work done.

Great service I had several vehicles taken care of by Vinny and his crew they just did my Duramax Allison transmission . Might be a little pricey but you get what you pay for great warranty and a super clean shop, top-notch service and technical help . Would hundred percent recommend the shop to anyone

Called Gold Coast for my 2014 ram 3500 the transmission had gone out at work they sent a tow truck for free picked up my truck and had it back to me in a couple days very good service and vinny was very nice and knowledgeable I would recomend Gold Coast to everybody 👍

Art, and the crew over at Gold Coast Transmissions are fantastic. I am the type of guy who likes to do repairs on his vehicle himself, and have always been iffy about mechanics that I am not familiar with, but when I needed some tranny work that was out of my scope of expertise I knew I needed to find a pro. After quoting with several other local transmission shops, Gold Coast came back with the most competitive quote. Not being originally from south Florida this automatically gives me the mind set that I am going to be taken by a shop I am not familiar with. After reading some negative reviews on sites like this one, I was a bit hesitant, and I even voiced those concerns with the owner Art. Talking directly to the owner not a generic manager put my mind at ease. Long Story Short, transmission is running great, I even waited to write this review until after my 10 day courtesy inspection just to be extra sure. I know everybody has different experiences, but mine was completely positive and I highly recommend this shop. 2004 Ford Ranger 4X4 5 speed.

Im wary of mechanics and careful with my car. I do most work myself and am hands on when I dont know how to (yet!). I opted for a shop to handle the tranny drain and fill considering my sealed 2005 Suzuki Forenzas transmission. Given the best rate around (outright, no haggling!) and reviews read here online, I went to the local (not the closest) shop.Having driven past the shop many a time, I had noted it looked extravegant for a car shop. Little did I know that inside matched the exterior. Cool ac fills the vaulted lobby, a stone fountain sits in middle of a unique circular bench. Southwest-esque decorations abound, a seperate room with couches and television for those waiting. I used the free wifi :) The environment was very comfortable and couldnt be better IMO.Mike is very accommodating and made handing my keys over easy. Glimpsing into the shop also set my mind at ease. Many cars lifted up, many mechanics milling about, air tools whirring, but it was the dogs that closed the deal.Car is operating like new. Shifting had begun to get rough (I am quite in tune with her) and now it is nearly seamless. Work done quickly and cleanly (yes, I had to peek). Driving home, radio off, listening and feeling the shifting I noticed water rolling up my windshield. Son of a gun, I got a Holiday hose down on top of quality work, low price, and a smile. Awesome!
