I broke my bass guitar cable inside the input jack of my Fender Ramble Amp.The team there fixed it same day in one hour.Back to rocking out!!!

Totally save my butt. We were loading in for one of the most important gigs of my life at the Hard Rock Cafe when I noticed one of the keys on my old Roland XV-88 was broken.I did a quick search and these guys popped up 20 minutes away (an Authorized Roland repair shop!) The budget studio headphones I got serves its purpose. I looked more into it and its a well known microphone company that decided to make headphones crazy. Take a visit its cool, I think that the selection is lacking probably cause of covid but there are some finds there.

I been doing Business with MAE since I returned to Fort Lauderdale and their parents ran the old Store down the street from this new location. They have carried on the Family tradition ofalways going the extra mile to accommodate and provide support to the local area Musicians.They have actual local musicians who work in the store with tons of experience. The are a valuable resource for the Church communities in South Florida and provide equipment rental for area major concert venues.

MAE has been great to me. They are honest and they have some of the best prices on some of the best equipment. Their guitar selections are probably the best in South Florida. They have all types of acoustic guitars and electric guitars. I recently bought a Fender Tele (A rare orange flake one) and its a wonderful guitar. Ken and Teddy are really helpful and friendly. If you havent been to MAE, you have to go.

I have purchased several guitars there, I appreciate the knowledgeable sales people as well as no bait and switch nonsense. They have every level quality and every level price . Additionally, Ralph can make a old dog sing by giving it one of his signature birthdays . I had two top of the line guitars that werent what they should have been, I didnt mention Gibson out loud did I . When I got them back from MAE guitar Dept. They were perfect, still are. I play them all and other than my custom shops Ive had him set all of the others up. There is a huge impersonal store that advertises cheap prices. For matching quality they cant match MAEs over all experience . My only regret is when Mr PRS himself was there for a visit I didnt pull the trigger and have him sign one. ( Not on the pick guard) ... FYI His personal Dragon neck guitar was amazing...

Food was not hot

I dropped a guitar off to be restrung but there was poor communication about when it would be done. I ended up getting it back without the work done. On a positive note, they had good customer service with the purchase of guitar straps.

I had the pleasure to meet Jerry Arbelaez in pro audio yesterday . He went above and beyond to help a friend of mine find the right gear. He patiently listened and then suggested different options and allowed us to test, compare and really hear the difference. MAE is, and has been for many years, the best music store in South Florida. If you are a working pro, this is where you go for instrument purchases and repairs. It is also where you go for sound and lighting systems, recording gear, etc.Ive been shopping there for fifty years and have nothing but good things to say. Mike and Ken, the brothers who inherited the place from their Dad, are great musicians (trombone and drums/piano, respectively). They know what you need and have hired sales assistants who know their stuff.The best thing is that they dont give you a bunch of Im a rock star condescending to wait on you attitude. Their sales assistants are down to earth and patient with beginners--and old friends who are checking out new gear!Visit MAE once and youll understand. Its the real deal.

Came in looking for guitar picks. They had a great selection with bins where you could get brand name guitar picks from 25-75 cents a piece. They also had packs of multiples available for just a few dollars. Very big assortment of instruments and accessories. Will be returning if I need to pick up something else guitar related.

Michael and the staff were more than helpful in assisting me during my time there. I always enjoy going to an establishment where the staff is knowledgeable and friendly. MAE is one of those places. I even learned about a Manufacturer of Bass Guitars that I wasnt aware of previously and got to jam on it a bit. Great Place.

Great place to purchase a musical instrument. They are a small business not a big box music retailer. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable, store has a good selection. Wayne helped me pick the right keyboard for my daughter for a Christmas gift. He took his time explaining the differences and benefits of different models. I never felt pressured to make a purchase. I am satisfied with my experience with MAE and will return.

Good for sales, lousy for service. I brought a mixer to be repaired there. It had a couple of bad switches and dirty pots. After weeks of waiting, they gave it back to me with no improvement. They told me that they cleaned the switches and pots. My interpretation is that they tried to spray some contact cleaner into it. Unfortunately, the pots are sealed and the switches needed to be replaced. They charged me a pretty penny too.They send out the repairs to an outside person (who lost accessories I sent in with it) and had a hard time getting in touch with the guy when I asked for an update.Its a shame because I like the people there and shopping there, but I will never bring anything to repair there again.

Honestly this place is pretty great. Prices are competitive and you can get anything musical here. Staff is super friendly. They even have a set of retro fishbowl shaped drums upstsirs.

My daughter always asks for this place by name when buying reeds for her bassoon (she buys medium soft). They are slightly cheaper than All County Music. They are very knowledgeable about anything music, however they take their sweet time in helping you with no sense of urgency. There is one employee in particular (who will remain nameless, but he has the title of manager) who will often stop in the middle of ringing your items up to answer his cell phone. I find that not just annoying, but also discourteous. Again, no sense of urgency.

If youre looking for a family owned music store in Fort Lauderdale, this is the best one hands down. I have been coming here for over a decade now and really enjoy giving them my business. The owner is super friendly and down to earth and goes out of his way to make sure you are a happy customer every time. From my experience, they are also one of the best guitar repair shoppes in town too. I had my guitar restored and it only took them one day and the cost was very low compared to the other music stores near me that I got a quote from. Brings back a lot of memories memories that I remember of me going in that store while I was growing up and my father would always take me there because the music was his passion and music was his life so in honor of my dad next year on January 1st 2018 I will go back into playing lead guitar but with the twist not just any ordinary lead guitar but Ibanez lead guitar and start from the ground up. Got to go back into getting back into the rhythm of things last time I played guitar I was when I was 16 years old and Im 32 now its never too late to pick up from where you left off but its always good to refresh your memory with a music book that will show you from key to key of how to play the little Basics and then go to chords immediately. So with that being said I have a lot of catching up to do but its still an honor of my father to live on the Legacy but just as a hobby though. And a few of the people that are still there that is no my father for 19 or 20 years they are always concerned about me because my father had a major impact on them just like he had a major impact on everybody that he has played with in the past so Dad this is for you.

Most down to earth staff and quality service. My family has only taken their instruments to Ralph for as long as I can remember, and we have never been disappointed. Forgot my case to pick up my guitar and Jerry offered to bubble wrap it for me to make it home. They go above and beyond.

Went to go buy an SM58 grill for my microphone and Jerry said it was 20.00 so I bought it when in fact it was 8.99 poor service and ol Jerry in the audio dept is a scam artist! I will never go back and I warn all of you to do the same! Stay away!

I brought my keyboard 🎹 to fix and was trying to explain what was wrong with the piano but the answer me with actitud he is not the technician and, That I had to leave the piano so they can check it.they called me a the next week the piano is ready when I get there they charged me $220 I requested to check the piano before I go home And, the hadn’t fixed. Then they kept the piano for over a month and then called me saying the the mother board needs to be replace, and just the mother boad cost $500 plus labor . I do not recommend this place to have you equipment fixed.

Long time store with quality Equipment and decent prices

I have visited this place over the years because its close to my house. I really wish I liked this place because I rather support small business than a giant like Guitar Center...but I cant. The main problem is the return policy: it is terrible. Once I open an item I cant return or exchange. There were many items were the damage was not my fault but the manufacturers, but the item still was not accepted. Their prices are too high as well, but sometimes they do have price matching going on.I think the only good thing about this store is the selection of music books available. I can easily see the books condition without having to risk spending non-refundable money on an item.

We have a business relationship for over 20 years. Staff is knowledgeable about the musical equipment. And very personable with their customers.

Came in from another county because the pictures, I didnt take any new ones but the lighting is dank or non-existent nowhere as bright as shown on Google maps. All the equipment looks old or used but the prices are full retail new. Attention was minimal and no mention of being able to work on price.

We arrived 20 minutes before closing. The store hostess was great. we told her what we needed and she directed us toward the back left area to wait. 2 men arrived about 20 seconds apart and didnt ask if we needed help. they walked off talking together. Someone announced over a loud speaker that the store will close in 15 minutes. One of the men came back and asked what do you want? were closing. No way could this be considered great customer service. Nunca jamás!

I have been going to MAE since the late 1980s. MAE is basically the last mom & pop music store in Fort Lauderdale. The Sam Ash and Guitar centers shut everyone else down. I love going to MAE, the staff is a good mix of old school and new school, the wall of guitars is amazing, and I really could spend an entire day just looking at the guitars, drums, keyboards, recording equipment, hell, even the guitar chords. Best music shop in south florida bar none!

I’m from Miami and gladly make the trip to Ft. Lauderdale, because I know it’s worth it when Ralph works on my guitars and basses. Highly professional, good communication, cheerful, positive attitude and funny jokes.I never have any issues, such as uncertain turn around times, unprofessional attitude, lack of experience, or shady costs, which are the standards expected pretty much everywhere else in the area except here (including the big name music stores). Ralph’s work stands high above other guitar techs in both counties. Highly recommend!
