We had been trying to get a truck since August. It is now the end of October. Every place would run credit, then say they couldn’t sell truck. I had never experienced anything like what was happening at all of these dealerships. I happened to see a Dodge listed with Jim Baier, so I checked the reviews. I thought this is promising. I am so glad we found Colton at Jim Baier. We had some hiccups getting the truck shipped to Louisana, so I hopped on 3 flights & missed the 4th due to flight delay. Colton told me to hang in there, so I got in a rental to finish the journey. He waited until after hours for me on a Saturday. He had everything ready. The truck looked fabulous. He made arrangements to return the rental for me. He called to check on me throughout my very long drive home. I can’t thank Colton and the dealership enough for taking such great care of us. PS, put the small deposit on the vehicle. It was how we got the truck over several others.

I had an amazing experience buying my 2021 Ford Escape from Jim Baier. My salesman Colton Warner was friendly and made sure he got me the best price! This is my first ever brand new car and I am in love with it! I made the right decision to go to Jim Baier. The lady that went over the paperwork with me (I forgot her name, Im sorry) made sure I didnt miss anything and explained everything so well! I brought my 4 year old son with me and another friendly man who worked there gave him a full bucket of candy to get a head start on trick or treating later on that night. I cannot thank these people enough for everything they have done for my little family. I will definitely be back in the future. If I could rate them 10 stars I would. Thank you so much!

The salesperson Jesse is a terrible liar. He was texting my husband and told us the truck “ran like a champ”. My husband took off work, we packed up our kids, and drove 3 hours to get the truck. When my husband drove it, he said the dash was lit up with warning lights and it clicked when it accelerated. It was a complete lemon. Jesse wasn’t even there when he said he would be so some other sales person pretty much said, “yeah, sorry we can’t do anything about it.” A 6 hour round trip could have been completely avoided if he had just been even a little honest.

Jim Baier in Fort Madison exceeded our expectations in every way. We randomly stopped to look at an older first truck for our son. Colton came right out and shared information on the vehicle but told us honestly it wouldn’t be a reliable first truck for a 14 year old and that they had just gotten a different truck in on trade that he thought might be something we’d like. My son fell in love immediately. We test drove it and talked numbers, and went home to sleep on it. The next morning after a handful of calls, Colton was able to get the numbers where we felt comfortable, He went above and beyond along with the finance manager Monica Allen who had all of the documents ready and painless!! 😉 They all wanted to make this exciting first truck happen for Joel!! We surprised him and they even put a huge red bow on the hood of the truck. I’ve never had such an exceptional, professional, and relaxing process at a car dealership in my lifetime. I will be back next time we need a vehicle. I will recommend Jim Baier and specifically salesman Colton to anyone wanting an amazing buying experience. These guys are great! I just purchased a 2020 Dodge Ram 1500 truck from Derek N. here and the process was seamless. Everything was done over FB and the phone believe it or not. I live about 2 hours away and was told the truck would be delivered to my door. I couldnt believe it! Not only that, but my trade was picked up and taken back as well! The truck was in great shape as promised and was exactly what I thought I would be getting. There was no pressure at all! The gentleman who delivered the truck had me sign all of the PPW, and handed over the keys. I would definitely recommend Jim Baier to anyone looking for a new or used vehicle. The customer service cant be beat!

Not impressed with the service department at all. Made an appointment in advance for a part reacll at 10 AM was told 1.5-2 hours. Was told at 11 they hadnt even started on my car and it wouldnt be done until 2pm because they were going to take a lunch break. So I would have been stranded there with no lunch. Guy who came to tell me this was REAL condescending in his tone and offered no apologies. When I told him I had things to do as a busy mom I got a dismissive shrug. I was offered a loaner but it was a car I wasnt comfortable driving since I am shorter then average. Good thing I inquired as to what the loaner was a head of time because no one mentioned the model to me. The service manger was nice but since said thats just how his employee talks to people rude guy just kept saying mmm hmmm while the manager was talking. Manager sent him away so we could talk but he came back so there was no way I was going to keep dealing with him. Manager also said this can take up to 3 hours or longer which would have been nice to know in the beginning. I would have made other plans. I get that things happen. I also know I would apologize for a scheduling issue to a customer. Ive never felt so talked down to as a female in a car dealership in my life. If I was made aware of the situation sooner I wouldnt have minded. If I was told kindly with an apology for the inconvience at 11 I wouldnt have minded. Being condescended to by a man who told me the wrong time frame with a shrug and a flippant attitude. I flipping mind. Im going to have my recall part fixed at the Ford dealership in Quincy instead. The manager did offer to deliver my car back to me in Keokuk but only after we had contacted the other dealership. That would have worked and I probably would have taken them up on that if it was offered before we contacted another dealership.

There is not enough good I can can say about these folks! They are the fairest nicest and hardest working dealership team I have ever seen! After the 4 cars I have purchased over the years there now my son just got his dream car there also. Jaime Baier is fair and is down to earth as they come. Monica Allen is a financing wonder, if there’s a lender for you she’ll find it and get you the best APR available! My salesman Ron Marshall is as non pressure as they come and as helpful too. Looking for a very specific truck with specific options which they had in stock. Spoke with Jesse over the phone coordinating and negotiating price and trade in on my truck. They gave me a great deal on my trade in and what I feel was a great price on the purchase of my newer truck. Able to make a deal on trade in through email, pics, and phone calls, which on their part I feel is a leap of faith, they held true to their word on trade in value after arrival to dealership. My husband bought a brand new 2018 ford focus from them in may 2018. We had issues with the turbo charger going out in November last year. They said they had to fight with Ford to be able to fix it with the warranty due to not being able to give them proof we had oil changes done but that they went ahead and approved of it all under the warranty. Well now we have had more issues arise and took it to a different dealership to be looked at. They made a call to Ford directly and gave them our VIN number and stuff and Ford told them we DO still have our power train warranty. Needless to say, they have been reported to Ford directly. I will NEVER take any vehicle back to Jim Baier for ANY kind of work again. I will take it to Shottenkirk instead as they have a Ford line and dealership as well. Watch this company folks. They were also supposed to do an oil change in June or July last year when we had brought it in to fix our AC which they neglected to do (we didnt know this until November when we found out about the turbo charger) as we had a free one they were supposed to do and didnt.

Ive used Jim Baiers service department for my car three times in the past two months. Always did what they said they would and on time. Im impressed. Twice theyve gone above and beyond the call of duty and have done diagnostic checks that should have been $99.00 but they said no charge. I come from the Phoenix Metro area and NO Dealership does anything for free there. I like these people!

The best dealership. Period. Let me start by saying this- most dealership experiences are stressful, more stressful than they really need to be. Compound that by me being an 8-hour drive away from Jim Baier, and you can really crank up the stress. However, working with the great folks at Jim Baier’s I began to feel very well taken care of.Initially I inquired online about a car they had and was promptly replied to by Jesse. Jesse was more than accommodating given the nature of my proximity. I was asking for many custom pictures, from odd angles, being extra critical as I was relying on Jesse to be my eyes and my judgement. Not once did I feel as if I was bothersome or had frustrated Jesse during the over 40-picture process.Next, their finance department was so helpful during the process. Buying out of state can cause some complications and both Monica and Josh were a dream to work with. Josh was so accommodating over the phone and was able to assist me with nearly every question I had. Monica and Josh were both able to make sure every concern I had was addressed and while I was not able to meet Josh in person, Monica was both professional and extremely kind. She made the large expense feel like it was just another day- something that cannot be expected when buying a car.Garrett was the other sales representative I worked with and let me tell you, this guy is a total gentleman. What a very awesome guy to work with- more than accommodating due to some travel snags, he was willing to assist me in any way he can- be it issuing a driver to come and get me due to flooding near the train station, offering to help me load up the car, and just being generally pleasant to work with. His energy made the entire experience so much better than other places- seriously, folks, if you are reading this, this guy rocks! Kudos to the entire team here.Lastly, Bob and Lolly, this lovely couple really was the icing on the cake. As I mentioned, I was stranded at a train station due to the Mississippi flooding. When I called Garrett he offered to send a driver to come get me- something I would have never expected to get from a dealer. I was stranded and expected to have to take a 100 dollar taxi ride. Bob and Lolly were amazing. You could tell these two people loved Fort Madison, loved driving, and loved sharing the rich history of Fort Madison. On the way to the hotel, they told us about all of the locations and showed us how much the Mississippi had flooded, affecting businesses and the like. The energy of these two was amazing; Bob had an infectious smile and the kindest face, as well as a knack for information. Lolly was a fantastic tour guide and her love for the city and for Bob was truly amazing. I have never seen a couple more coordinated and in tune with each other. Once they dropped us off at the hotel, we parted ways. They truly should be tour guides- the wealth of knowledge was impressive and their energy was inspiring.

Serious issues with this business. JUST BAD.1) The associates in the service lobby-working the service desks- do not know anything about cars. At least not Ford cars. And when the dont know how the car works, they just lie to you about it. NO JOKE!! When I explained that the front seat wasnt working, and I believed that it was because a plug had been mistakenly left unplugged, the service associate Keven, looked puzzled and stated that wouldnt have been necessary. i didnt argue with him. Ive worked on enough cars to know that the seat was removed. I also told him that the smart junction box was replaced and when doing that it would have changed the code for my key pad on the door and I never received a new code and could i possibly see about getting that code. He again shook his head and stated he didnt believe that changing the box would require a new code. Thankfully an actual mechanic was in there and said, Yea it would. There should have been one with the box. I explained there was a credit card type object left in the seat of my car, was that it? The mechanic told that indeed it was. NO ONE told me this information. Not the service dept. or the cashier. And obviously, Kevin didnt know that was even a real thing! ( And Kevin isnt 22...hes been around the block)2) They do not listen to their customers. NOT AT ALL. Until you get frustrated and start showing your not so pretty side and have to embarrass them by out thinking them.3) Not very professional. I was watching the mechanics working on my car. One was in the drivers seat trying to program the keys and two younger gentlemen were trying to figure out how to put the spare tire back under the car...... I offered to to show them how, and i as actually polite about it and i was told, by Bob, that they had access to google and fords website and they would figure it out. And they did......about 20 minutes later. ( making me late)4) Not helpful to the customer. I purchased four new tires and was told there was a mail in rebate at the time i placed the order for the work. Neither at the time of dropping off my car, returning to pick up my car, or paying for the work done to my car was i told how to receive this rebate, or given any paperwork on what i should do. NONE. I had to ask about this AFTER I had to return my car because the passenger front seat had been removed and when it was returned to the car, the plug for the reclining motor wasnt plugged back in, leaving the seat in the farthest forward leaning position.... making it unable to sit in. I left the car again for them to repair a problem they created. When Kevin called me to let me know the problem was resolved, he told me that the seat was just stuck and that that had indeed plugged in the motor. One of the mechanics just pushed really hard on the seat and then it moved.. Um. No. That isnt how motors work. If you just push really hard on it, you will strip the gears. When my husband and I went back to get the car, we checked ALL the components that are affected by the smart junction box. I will not go into all the details about how they couldt get my car programmed on Friday, the keys wouldnt lock or unlock the doors... any of them, in any fashion, that the interior dome lights would flash in a pattern when the car was running and they couldnt tell my why or make it stop, and that they are closed on Saturdays. So, when the clock ran out on Friday, my car sat there until Monday and I was stranded for the weekend. And they offered no loaner vehicle to me WHAT SO EVER!!!! Did they ultimately fix all the issues with the car, yes. But it took a lot more effort on the customers part than is should have. If this car had not needed mandatory computer programming that only Ford can provide, I would have done the work myself... NO LIE!!! But I have learned that I will NEVER have any service work done at Jim Baier Ford in Ft. Madison, IA. NEVER EVER NEVER.

Consultant James, was able to find me a perfect car that had all the accessories I wanted, and was within ultimately the perfect price range for me. Jim Baier and James went above and beyond and were able to make the process easy and extremely fast! I was impressed how professional the customer service provided by James was. He really made sure to provide all the information that I wanted and even went beyond and did some extra research for me.
