Amazing experience here every time. The gentleman behind the counter was and always has been extremely knowledgeable, courteous, and a pleasure to talk with. Gives out great vibes to get the trip started for sure. Plus they have all the bait and extras you need.

This place used to be my go to bait shop. Since the pandemic they have imposed a $15 minimum purchase on a debit card. They are more often than not out of stock on several items. Last time I visited they were out of all live bait. I chose to get the frozen shrimp big mistake. I over paid approximately $8, ( I felt I paid seasonal prices in off season)for a bag of about 3 dozen that the majority of shrimp were very small which broke on a #4 circle hook or didnt fit. This wasnt the first time I felt like I got stung. I am debating on if I go back anytime soon. I think I will try Cattle Dock Bait shop from now on.

The worst service! Guy that was there did not want to work! Super sarcastic! Over priced small not fresh shrimp. Just pass this place up and save yourself the disappointment.. never again

I have bought Bait here 3 times but never again. I was insulted for the last time today. The shrimp are so tiny you cant use most of them out of 7 dozen I got a dozen that were usable. A frozen bag of chum is crazy price. But the Kicker is the guy there is insulting crabby and down right rude. all 3 times its always the same guy and the same result tiny tiny shrimp and a not nice person waiting on you insulting you at 6;30am. I actually go by other bait shops to get to this one but not any more. If there are reviews that say there getting good customer service there not at this store. The one on Loves key is such nice people and the shrimp are huge, you could eat most of them...

If they don’t have live bait, don’t bother going to buy frozen shrimp from them. Just go down the road to Walmart or 7-11 and get yourself a bag from there which comes from a company. If I would have known believe me I would of walked out gone to one of these places. Bought a bag of shrimp, which they must make themselves because it was a ziplock sandwich bag with all the smallest shrimps ever. So small they couldn’t be put on a size 1 hook. Counted about 6 regular size shrimp the rest were unusable. Definitely, not worth it and overpriced (almost $10) thrown away. Had to give them one star but would have not given them any if I could.

Very friendly staff. First time around and they help me with everything. Prices are way way way cheaper than at the pier and is on the way, is a in and out environment. Will come back soon

Workers dont tell me anything about the items im purchasing. The bait is overpriced and doesnt attract many larger type fishies.

On the morning of 04/25/2021 i went to this shop. i told the person working i just moved to the area and wanted to do some fishing. he told me, with attitude, he did not have time for this today. i would have to come back another time. very disappointing, since the shop is less than a mile from my home. so i went to another shop, miles from my home. met a young man whos knowledge blew my mind. owner smiled at me the min i walked in. so what did i do, i spent $287.42. if you want to see the sales slip, just ask, ill have it framed for you so you can see what you are loosing. i normally will not write a review, but being in retail, i had too so you know how your employee is treating your customers.

Fraud alert!!! I tried to purchase 10 bucks worth of stuff and the guy, heavy set older guy in his 40s 50s, tried to charge my credit card $65. I called him on it and he then tried to tell me he had to double charge me to make up for a refund. To add insult to injury he then called me a thief because I didnt go along with it.As an update, Although I told the extremly rude and hostile clerk that I was not going to pay him $65 to help him with his mistake and despite the fact that I did not take any merchandise, The clerk still ran my card and charged $30 to my card. This is straight out theft. BEWARE!

They also sharpen knives. We had two dull old steak knives done with Excellent results. Really New Knives for a reasonable charge.

Ive never met what I believe to be the business owner so rude Anytime Ive gone to a bait shop before they always tell you what the fish are biting on or have a little concern about the customer at least a little

Bought shrimp bait here twice and both times shrimp size was not consistent and last purchase was bad... all shrimp was tiny, two dozens of tiny shrimp. I hope that they get better. I want to support local businesses.

I went in to rent a fishing pole and get advice on where to catch fish. The gentlemen gave me very little suggestions and wasn’t helpful whatsoever. Now I know a pole rental isn’t a big deal to many but if I had the right information I surely would’ve purchased the right gear to use along with my rental. Also I purchased shrimp that were tiny, out of the entire bag maybe 5 decent sized... just a joke.I fish all the time so I know most of the basics, and when I did find a good local spot on my own I wasn’t equipped. Hope this review helps another guy just hoping to enjoy their vacation!Also, this place smells like something died in there!

This is a great little bait and tackle shop that is open late at night. If you are on the way to the pier and need a place to get bait, this is the best place.

Dont get the shrimp special if ya plan on trying to put them on a hook because their shrimp are way to small to use for anything. I keep coming back like a dumb ass thinking they gotta have better shrimp but that never happens. Im not wasting my money there anymore. The bait shop at lovers key boat ramp always have huge beautiful shrimp. They will be getting my money from now on.

First time going in a pinch normal bait shop was closed friendly staff very disappointed in shrimp size got 6 dozen not one longer than my pinky finger for the price can get hand pics elsewhere will not be returning again!

Shopped here several times over the past few years of coming. Staff has always been helpful and friendly. Last trip this week the gentleman working even gave me a huge peppermint stick for the kids. Never had a problem before but when I asked for live bait and told him I wasnt really sure what I needed this time of year, he insisted I had some of everything. My fault for falling for that. Was $26 for 2 dozen shrimp, 3 bait fish and 3 baby crabs. Could have caught a bucket of the bait fish from pier and same little crabs running around everywhere on beach. Again, this was my fault. My dislike comes from the shrimp. $3.50 a dozen and I ordered 2 dozen. When I got back home, I counted...8 shrimp! EIGHT SHRIMP. No reason tho take advantage of people that way. Wont be going back.

WAY OVERPRICED!!! I will NEVER enter this place again.I bought 2 dozen shrimp a small bag of weights a small bag of hooksOver 60.00!!!!!The used poles looked like he picked them up at garage sales priced at $49.95.My advice...Dont go here!!!!

Was a bit disappointed first ever visit here and the live Shrimp were small about the size of a cigarette. Them Shrimp shouldve been put back in the water. Only the frozen squid caught us 2 fish at Fort Myers Beach Pier, we were there on the July 22nd till 2 am only 1 Whiting fish a crab and some snail.

Great & friendly knowledgeable service. Went in for some bait to find out they also repair rods. Will continue to use them for bait & dropping off my other rods.

Least favorite place to buy bait. Overpriced and the shrimp are small. I have fished here for years, and I can go to other bait shops the same day and buy larger shrimp for less any time of the year!

Waiting 20 mins with one person ahead of me and saw him get ripped off for $70 for shrimp, pinfish and an aerator, then when I got to the counter I realized the shrimp they sold for 3.75 a dozen aren’t even an inch long. First and last time ever going there.

First time i went here guy tried to sell me 150 yards of braid for 25 bucks lol...2nd time i went the guy sold me half dead batteries out of the pack and rippped me off by at least 20 shrimp ...i went in there two days ago for the last time ...guy gave me all little shrimp and about half of what i paid for ....i refused to take them...and founf the bait station right down the street ....when you see bait n wait keep going about another half mile on your left is a Indian creek plaza with the best bait around...bait n wait is a joke and nothing but a trap for tourists who dont know any better

Tiny shrimp. Overpriced. We had to buy batteries for the overpriced air-orator and those batteries lasted 1 hour. And, it smells something absolutely awful in there.

The first time I went to this place they had no shrimp, the second time I went they had shrimp but all were tiny. I bought their 50 shrimp special and only got about 10 worth fishing with, all the others were around 1.5 Inches.Oh, and the clerk was kind of Rude!

Came here at 9:17pm, hours of operation state 6am-11pm, to a locked store with the open sign still on and nobody answering the phone.
