We stopped by after reading all the great reviews wanting to grab a burger before heading home on Sunday. Theyre one of the few places around open on Sundays, so thats a plus in my book!This place is easy to miss so keep an eye out and use google maps if youre not familiar with the area. It shares its space with a convenience store, so you can grab snacks and supplies if you need them while camping or boating or something.The menu has standard American grub with a focus on burgers. They also had a hot bar with some meat and three/plate lunch type options (mashed potatoes, southern vegetables, etc).Fiancé ordered a cheeseburger combo and I got a mushroom and Swiss burger combo. There were only two people working - probably understaffed - and a large party had ordered shortly before us, so wait time for food was longer than expected. On the bright side, our food was made totally fresh and came out piping hot.Overall, it was alright. We both ate our food without complaint but honestly Im not sure if it was worth it for the price. The burgers are solid, kinda old timey, diner burger style. I honestly think I wouldve liked the mushroom and Swiss more if it had been served on a regular hamburger bun rather than Texas toast; the thick patty made the toast soggy pretty quickly. On the bright side, the burger was juicy, shaped well, with melty cheese and a good balance of mushrooms. French fries were of the standard frozen and then fried variety.This is a potentially good stop if youre looking for a casual bite out by Little River Canyon.

Stopped here for lunch after hiking at Little River NP. We had burgers, bologna sandwiches and BLT’s and everything was so good! Lots of picnic tables outside to hang out and eat!

If you want an authentic country store experience, go here! There is a whole section of locally made products from soap to cookbooks to mugs. There is also a restaurant inside that features locally raised beef!

We visited this establishment on a suggestion from someone in the campground. We had the 1/2 lbs Hamburger and fries….amazing !!! The menu is southern cooking, nice variety from Burgers to Meatloaf and Salads. Lots of options….It’s a Gas station with a diner inside it. Well worth the stop…

We love eating here. Im gluten free so i only eat the salads. But the bbq salad without sauce is my go to. Delicious.

Great food and nice people. My wife and I love everything we have ordered. They serve breakfast, lunch, and supper. You can eat from the hot bar or order off the menu. Good portions, too. So far, Ive ordered take out, but they have seating for about 30 people. It is also a convenience store and gas station.

Food was amazing, Cheese sticks, patti melt for me, and my wife loved her chicken sandwich. Great value and prices are good. Homemade ranch was the perfect finish.

A great place to stop in for a quick bite. The burgers were delicious. On Fridays they offer fish and hush puppies. Its right before the Little River Canyon sign. So be sure to grab a picture while youre there.

My husband ordered the Blue Hole burger & tater wedges. He said it tasted like a homemade burger. Dont get no better than that. It was only a 1/2 pound of meat, but this burger was huge!

My husband and I stopped in for a quick dinner and discovered karaoke night! We were quickly served and it was the best cheeseburger and fries in town. Food was hot fresh and prepared just the way one would want. Bathroom was also squeaky clean and all attendants were courteous and made us feel welcomed! We will definitely return! I just feel like this place needs more recognition!

Granted theres not a lot of competition in the immediate area... But, having said that, the food and prices here are worth bouncing in for a hot meal if you are visiting Little River Canyon National Park. No need to make the drive into town to eat at a chain restaurant.The staff is always very nice and youll get your burger / chicken / BBQ quickly and be back at the Hippie Hole satisfied and full.

We stopped here after a hike at the waterfall. Staff was all friendly and pleasant to meet! Also BBQ pork sandwiches with slaw from the cafe were on point!

My BLT was about the best BLT I have ever had. Plenty of bacon from first bite to last. Wifes food was equally good. Besides burgers and sandwiches, they also have a small daily meat and veggies selection.

Yummy! Everything is cooked after you order! Really good bacon burger. Patty filled the bun and was really flavorful and juicy! Worth the twisty road to get there.

We were visiting the Little River Canyon area and stopped by. We were warmly greeted as we came in and also chatted with the folks behind the grill. I asked what the favorites were on the menu and the prompt reply was really, everything is good. Well, I cant vouch for everything, because we only tried the breakfast burritos 😊 The good: ample portion and tasty.The so-so : rather salty and it took QUITE a while to prepare. Now, since we were meandering and not in a hurry, not a problem for us, but, you may want to be aware. Also have some Tshirts, souvenirs and grocery items ( that you pass on the way to a clean bathroom).

I read about this place online, and since we were headed up to the Little River Canyon Preserve, we decided to stop in here for a quick lunch. Based on the reviews, it sounded wonderful. I got a cheeseburger combo which was only a little over $6.00 and included my drink. Wow.... I really think it was the best cheeseburger that Ive ever had.... the french fries were those crinkle kind and were so good... not one bit greasy. Our food was ready very quickly, and everyone there was so nice and friendly. Dont pay any attention to that poster who only gave it a one star. It seems as though they were there during the Worlds Longest Yard Sale which brought so many people to the area, and they must have been swamped. That is only once per year...... its not a typical occurrence for them to be slow. Focus on all the other reviews which are 5 stars.

This place is a very great store. the place has become more and more popular with a new owner. not a fast food place its a great food place. lately, they have been jam-packed, but they still deliver. all staff are hard working and dont slack off. some people dont understand that their not a fast food place theyre a restaurant. they cant make great food fast when understaffed. but if you wait a while talking to the locals or look around the store while they make the food youll be surprised how great the food is. many people cant wait and thats understandable but dont say that they are a bad store if you dont have the patience to get great food.

Coming from Geraldine we were looking for a Mom n’Pop place for breakfast and this is what we found. Don’t be deceived by the store front. The food was good, really good, and the people were so friendly. We were glad to find it and will be back!!

The grilled chicken sandwiches were delicious. Our order was accidentally picked up by another family. The staff quickly cooked, from scratch, a new order and were as kind as could be. Great place to stop after hiking.

Friendly staff unable to put out food. I arrived at 2 p.m. on Saturday with a big appetite and high hopes after reading G reviews. I ordered a cheeseburger at the inside window and sat down with my self-serve drink. It should have been a tip-off that NONE of the other 10-12 seated customers had any food, only drinks. The eating area was full of flies, and the floors were pretty dirty. I waited and waited and waited. After 25 MINUTES OF WAITING, some of the people there before me still did not have any food. so I cancelled my order, paid for my drink, and left. I know this place has lots of fans, but on this particular Saturday, they seemed incapable of putting out burgers.

We had the lunch special and loved it! Highly recommend this place just outside of the Little River Canyon National Preserve. Great friendly service, good prices, and indoor/outdoor dining. Hit the spot!

Im amending my previous review of Ralphs because my most recent trip was fantastic. The wait was short, the food was delicious, and the staff was (and always is) friendly.

Real good food no matter what you order. Service is very good and the prices are reasonable. Everything is fresh and served fresh. Great cheeseburgers and plate lunches.

The BEST cheeseburgers in Fort Payne AL! And let’s not forget the AMAZING 1inch thick, light&fluffy pancakes for breakfast that are as big as the plate!!!! Great service too! Hands down my families FAVORITE restaurant for Breakfast, Lunch and Supper!

Non existent service. Slow service was fine. I wasn’t in a hurry. But after a 40 minute wait for a child’s cheeseburger we gave up and left. Perhaps the four dollars they beat us out of will help them hire better employees.
