Smallish store, interesting assortment of items. Found prices a bit higher than elsewhere but folks seem nice
Very good gun shop. They have a well stocked black powder section. I was able to get some small number 11 percussion caps that fit on pistols. These are hard to find these days. The people are friendly and check to see if you need help.
One of the best gear selections in town, even if some of it is a little on the pricier side. Was a little disappointed that they didnt take layaway deposits because its just so hard to get stuff and one of the salespeople pulled the classic hope its still there tomorrow line after I decided to think about it.I confess I went to another shop in town and found the same product for about 30 bucks cheaper and bought it there because they accepted deposits. Made the deposit and went back like 2 hours later to pay it in full anyway because I just couldnt wait.Ranger lost a sale because of that, and they ought to consider changing that policy. But altogether its a nice little store with knowledgeable staff and I still highly recommend them if youre looking for accessories or gear.
Couldn’t find my glock for months and chanced upon this gem of a place. Knowledgeable, friendly staff, nice inventory. What more do you need? Oh..layaway?... 😂😭.. thank you, come again.I recommend.
Short version: Go hereLong Version: Im a regular here, and this place is awesome. The ladies who run the store are incredibly kind and knowledgeable, and the selection is pretty good for a small store. They have rifles, pistols, shotguns, a wide selection of ammo, as well as reloading supplies and firearm accessories (sights, magazines, lights, parts, cleaning, etc). In addition, they offer classes for getting your CWL as well.
Was willing to pay more then 50 percent cash on a gun to put it on layaway for less then a month and they told me they cant I know of 4 other gun stores that will let me do it for 20 percent. Was really disappointed as this was for a birthday present
Great place. And Hot girls that run the place
OK, I get it, its New Years Eve and stores are closing early, but I called ahead and checked to see if they were open. Well, I was told they were open until 4pm, so I was a little surprised to find the door locked at 2:05pm. I was met at the door and told they closed at 2pm and was dismissed after I told the woman that wasnt what I was told on the phone. I could have turned around after I made that call (I was in the parking lot of Precision Tactical in Crestview) and saved a bunch of miles and disappointment. Its not often that I leave Bay county and drive around checking out the shops, I visited 5 others that day, but I wont be coming back to yours.
Store has wide variety of products. They almost always have what I need. Store staff is super friendly and very helpful. The only downside (I personally find) is that their prices are on higher side compared to some other local stores. I always take my time and shop around. But often they have some of the things that no other store in town has. Store is definitely worth to visit and check it out.
Very helpful and supportive staff. Looking forward to more classes opening up!
I had a great experience here recently. I wanted to put a optic on my sons rifle. They helped me find the right components and tools. They also let me fit it on right on their counter. I will be shopping there again in the future.
I picked up two pistols they had all the info I needed and very friendly and helpful. I just had to get them. Great job Girls keep it up and Ill see yall soon again for more ammo and more add ons
Do yourself a favor and swing by this gun shop first. These folks are extremely knowledgeable about firearms, more than happy to go into the fine details, and are very friendly and professional. Decent selection. Best gun shop in town.
Great selection given the current situation
Purchased rifle. Waited around for background check because there is a backlog. Bought a gun mat to clean guns on. Bought a case for the rifle. Purchased cci 22lr ammo. Check Ranger Firearms on Facebook for ammo availability. Good place to shop.
Good little gun shop in fort walton. Prices are reasonable and they have a good variety of products. The people who work there are friendly and the guy I dealt with seemed to know his stuff. The prices on ammo and accessories are not to bad (couldnt comment on gun prices as Ive never purchased one from here).
Visiting family from another state and was in the market for antique guns. They had one here that fit the bill but as i started to ask questions on how to purchase the firearm since i was from another state (if i had to buy it, if my father who lived here had to buy it) i got called a straw buyer and was told i couldnt purchase the firearm. I own several firearms and can pass a background test, but i know it gets a little hairy when transferring state lines. I honestly have never bought a gun outside my state and was trying to acquire it properly. Instead of explaining the process (i can buy it, just has to be shipped to ffl in my state or my old man can buy it and gift it to me) the younger employee jumped to conclusions and assumed i was trying to bypass the law... i understand protecting your business but this was just plain rude. I apologized to the manager afterwards explaining that i was not trying to buy it illegally but i was absolutely not interested in buying anything from them at this point. Very poor customer service.
Outstanding, fantastic, friendly and very knowledgeable staff. They encourage you to feel like part of the store family. The store is small in size but packs a punch once inside. It just full of high quality firearms to accessories. The mainly female staff is very knowledgeable and Justin is a specialist in long range shooting. If they dont have it in stock they are more then willing to order it in for you. I strongly encourage everyone to visit this unique fulfilling firearms stores.
Lots of fire arms. Place is very nice and helpful. Women run the store its so nice they are polite and helpful. Very cool gun shop. Wouldnt buy a gun any other place. They make sure you are happy and get what you want. They will advice if used guns are coming in. They are very people friendly. Worth it
Shop there all the time. No problems! If l see somthing I like I look it over. If I like the price l buy it. Rember you dont have to buy any thing.
I have been trading with Ranger firearms since the first week they were open. I have never received anything other than excellent customer service, from knowledgeable employees. If you do ask an employee a question that they do not understand he or she will not hesitate to say you know I really do not know let me ask. As far as I am concerned you could not ask for better customer service personnel. My personal favorite customer service story from this outfit is that I recently sent my wife who just got her concealed carry permit into the store without me to talk to somebody about what she should carry. I particularly asked that she talk to one of the ladies working there however there was no one there and she talked to a gentleman. This young man took an inordinate amount of time to show my wife what was available and took the opportunity to discuss other options rather than what I had recommended for her. I was incredibly pleased with the service we received. As I told the owners, thank God you did not try to sell her a pink gun.The other thing I want to talk about is the excellent job they did during the late shortages, they made sure by using Facebook that every body knew what was available and more importantly they made sure that one or two people could not buy up all the stock so they would be some left for the rest of us. They keep an excellent selection of reloading supplies and also teach classes on reloading for those looking to get into it.In short though I have friends in almost every other gun store in town this is the one I go to. And I would recommend it for anyone.
Probably the best gun store Ive been to. Great selection, really friendly, and they really know their stuff.
Ranger Firearms is not the only place to purchase concealed carry weapons. You have others off Eglin Parkway. That being said why would I purchase a weapon at a place that is more expensive? Why would anyone give more of their hard earned money for the exact product when there is another place that will save you that $30 or $40...?I walked in yesterday and priced the .38 and 357s. The lady said they dont give police or fire discounts or even honor military or retired military. What kind of firearms store doesnt offer a discount for police or fireman...let alone military?Business need to realize we as consumers dont need them they need us. I will not be buying anything from Ranger Firearms for them not supporting us or budging on prices. Why would I again pay more when others in town will do for less. And who cares Im just one person right. Well wrong. Word of mouth is free advertisement and if these people were smart they would work with their customers.
Shopped there once or twice for some cleaning kits and other parts and pieces. Staff is very friendly and helpful.
Sales staff is friendly and nice to work with. Management... a little disconcerting. I purchased thousand dollar + firearm, and handled it for an hour. I decided the firearm didnt feel right, and asked about an exchange. Not even a discussion... just nope. Ive spent a few thousand dollars at the store, but Ill spend not a dime more.I suggest going to a store where the customer is valued, and management thinks about the long term. Go to a store where they care about long term satisfaction and repeat business.
Love it. The staff at ranger is always knowledgeable and fun to interact with. They are always willing to bend over backwards to make every transaction exceed expectations. It doesnt matter if it is a new firearm purchase or a mag extention. They always make it feel like they are having as much fun as me.
I have made many purchases at Ranger firearms. They have always been extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Their products are great, and prices are decent. They go out of their way to get products in for their customers. They are very friendly, and have some accessories you wont be able to find anywhere else. I love the folks at Ranger!
We love this place. The ladies that work there are friendly, professional, and very knowledgeable. It doesnt matter if youre a seasoned gun owner or a newbie, they treat you the same.
The best place around to get your firearms, ammo, and accessories. The girls here are very knowledgeable and helpful. I have been doing business here for years and will continue
Very nice store, the only one around town with reloading materials. Be sure to ask for Jac; she is amazingly and witty. She makes me feel like a VIP whenever I visit the store.
I was just there with some questions, they were very helpfull. I will be returning for future purchases.
Staff ignored me and my fiance. Awful customer service. Ive been able to find items for cheaper prices somewhere elts every time. Not worth shopping here.
Ive known about this location for the past 6 years. Been told to go in multiple times and never did and now I rarely get the opportunity to, living in Tampa. Its always a struggle to find my powder (Unique, BE-86, AR-Comp) in Tampa, and primers even worse. I stopped in when I was visiting family and they literally have everything youd need. Best thing was their Open Library for reloads. Every place I go they want you to buy the book. Gonna this a usual stop whenever Im in FWB!
The ladys here rock, they have a robust selection for whatever your marksmanship style is, and hands down the best reloading shop in the area
Always knowledgeable, friendly and helpful staff. Best for all of your shooting and reloading needs. Extensive in stock selection.
I drive a long ways to visit Ranger. The staff is always extremely friendly, knowledgable, and very non intimidating. The store has a huge selection, including used and surplus firearms. Ammo is fair priced (the ammo I buy at ranger is twice as much anywhere else in town, and only a buck more than online with no shipping). I try to stop in Every time I am in Fort Walton Beach. Its my GO TO Gun Shop! Thank you Ranger!
The prices are decent there be people are very knowledgeable overall a good place to buy ammo Firearms etc etc I go there again
Bought my wifes first pistol for christmas. Staff was unpretentious and most helpful.Didnt try to sell me more than we needed.Had less than pleasant experiences with several other gunstores while shopping. These peoples approach was outstanding.Their style is Smart business. They will be getting all of ours.
Bought a couple of weapons from this shop over the last few years. I am always impressed with the friendly & knowledgeable staff. Good prices & quality.
Best store around for reloading. Fair prices and plenty of selection 🖒🖒
Staff and store are great! This is my go to store for all of my shooting needs. They always have the best prices anywhere in town.
Small shop with a lot of gear and guns. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Tried lots of holsters looking for a new one for my carry.
Hands down the best gunstore in FWB. Staff is very knowledgable and they actually have personalities haha You dont have to feel bad about spending money here. Ranger Firearms is good people
I bought a holster that was suppose to fit a P220 Sig. It did not lady that owns it would not let me return or replace it without the receipt. Was very disappointed. Needless to say I dont shop there anymore.
DO NOT HAVE YOUR GUNS SENT HERE!!! $40 plus $5 for background ck to retrieve your weapon. Not even a military discount. What a ripoff.
Many other friendlier and more knowledgeable establishments to spend your money at.
Don’t take their CCW class, it’s an insurance sales pitch by scare tactics.“Using your gun will be treated as a homicide”
Female owned and mostly female run is their selling point. The staff is friendly and will remember you each time you come in. Doesnt have the biggest selection of guns but they do have a wide selection on ammo, accessories, and reloading supplies
I have been a patron of this establishment for years and years. To this point I have purchased 2 pistols, an ar15 lower receiver, a Nikon scope, many magpul accessories, I 2 reloading presses with many a reloading accessories, ALL my reloading supplies such as gun powder, primers and projectiles. I literally spent $450 last week on another reloading press and such. I would expect with my patronage and money spent they would give some sort of discount to loyal customers who would give to their LOCAL suppliers and gun shops. After spending $450 last week, I walked in to spend yet again around $80 to $100 more. I simply asked the attendant if I purchased 2 totaling $45 if she would sell me an item marked $47, for $40. She said no and stated they already sell them for as low as possible or they wouldnt be making any money. Well, excuse me, but from this point on you wont be getting ANY money from me. I did not speak my mind as I am not a ride person and I pride myself for my manners. I will spend money elsewhere where my hard earned dollars are appreciated more as from an individual, not just the next customers. And it seems as though this last past year, their prices have increased dramatically. Their prices used to be competitive but now they seem to be more expensive then lets say Dan pawn, or even Jimmys pawn for crying out loud. It is sad, they are very personable, but their high prices and inability to give a patron, who in all years purchased over $3k in total a 8 dollar discount on an overall $90 sale is the last I can deal with. It seems as though $7 discount has costed them a lifetime customer. I can no longer recommend them to my fellow gun entheusiest. Its sad when I must ultimately pull my dollars out of local businesses and order online, but such is the world now. I also was interested in a savage long range model 10 in .308. Bass pro had it for $999. Ranger firearms has it for $1129.99. I asked if they would price match and they said much the same thing, we price it as low as we can so no I cannot price match thats fine did purchase that weapon from bass pro for 1059.99 out the door. Bass pro shop also has a wide variety of powders which are cheaper than ranger firearms. Let that sink in, BASS PRO has cheaper prices on like products than Ranger firearms. Nuff said.
Ive found the staff to be just fine. During the recent dry times, theyve had ammo no one else has, and though I have to drive a long way to get it I have to admit theyve rationed it fairly. Small shops have almost all had to raise prices simply because of supply and demand. If they dont have much product, they need to get as much as the market will pay for what they do have. Big chains like Bass Pro and Wal-Mart can keep prices low, but small dealers just cant. I expect competition will solve that problem once more guns and ammo are available. As for phone calls, they have a small staff, and their priority has to be tending to the people standing in front of them. I just follow these rules:(1) Dont call just after the store opens or when theyre getting ready to close. Those are rush hours.(2) Keep it short and simple, preferably something that can be answered Yes or No. If you ask questions like What ammo have you got? or What ARs do you have? theyll probably brush you off. And they should.By the way, Im a retiree living in Destin, and am in no way affiliated with this store or its staff.
Helpful friendly staff, Good selection of items, reasonable prices
They have very friendly staff when purchasing. No military discounts or anything like that. I typically always get one, even if its only 5%. Here, no discounts for anyone. They say they try to keep their prices low for everyone.
Very friendly staff. Great guns at great prices
Always very friendly knowledgable and very informative local family business
Great as always, never a dull moment and knowledgeable staff
Been there two times, Both times staff was not very helpful, at times would egnore my questions and walk away. At the end all they could say was we cant find that.I was looking for a cobra gun holster.
Always knowledgeable staff and good selection.
Rather play Chatty Cathy with each other than wait on customers.....sorry girls you lost a sale today!
Bought a mosin from them, good prices and friendly staff
Great Girls were a great help
These people are so knowledgeable.
Friendly and knowledgeable folks
Small selection and everything is overpriced.
Childish male employee with a full beard and halitosis badly scratched the slider of my pistol while trying to sell me a cheap plastic holster, something I clearly expressed was not interested in buying because cheap plastic holsters scratch guns.
Great people, knowledgeable, winderful selection
Very friendly and knowledgeable employees
Really big help with all questions
Gotta new pistol
Friendly
