Adorable shop. (these photos are from January 2020.) everyone was so kind and helpful, even though I spent a full hour touching everything and only ended up buying some clearance Madeleine Tosh and a set of circulars. they even balled my yarn, which at the time I’d never been offered before. It’s a good thing I don’t live closer, or I’d be spending much more money here.

Very friendly staff. Ask what I was looking for as soon as I entered the store. As soon as I stated what I needed they immediately knew what project I was purchasing the yarn for and was wonderful helping me with my palette. I cant wait to start the KAL in Oct.

This shop is always a joy to visit. The owner, Natalie, is witty, an excellent merchandiser, and knows her product lines inside and out. Natalie and her employees are all experienced knitters happy to lend a hand in choosing yarns or helping with a snag in a current project. Set in an old brick building, the shop has a warm “at home” feel that always brings comfort.Natalie’s accessories deserve special mention. I never come away without a new fur pompom, unique markers, or some special treat that I just know I’ll need in the near future. We visit Fort Wayne sporadically from Southern California to see family, and Knitting Off Broadway is always a mandatory visit, usually multiple times because it’s so much fun. Besides the plethora of knitting knowledge and supplies, Natalie is always up to date on the latest hot restaurant and bar openings so provides her own Yelp-type service as well!Be sure to stop in...this is a true gem of Fort Wayne.

Yesterday, I pulled off a side street into an empty gravel lot to get my daughters snack in the back seat. I noticed there was a sign saying knitting parking only, so quickly took off my seatbelt and turned out to reach in the back seat before I was greeted by a woman. Rolling down my window I was welcomed with a “you can’t park here”..I explained I was just getting my kids snack and will be on my way (car still running, kid still buckled)..she continued to tell me how I was a poor role model, was disrespecting property bc she rents and pays taxes on this lot, and she would love to take me to court as she winked and called me baby..in total shock, I simply explained again I didn’t know exactly where I was, and again meant no harm was just calming down my child. She insisted I moved my car 200 feet over in what she told me was a school parking lot to get my kids snack out, as I happily did after being name called and threatened..It is a shame how a person (let alone woman to woman seeing I am only tending to my child not vandalizing her lot) would behave this way trying to represent her local business. I personally pay for a parking tag downtown to use in a lot myself, I understand how a small business needs to pride themselves on property, but I will never understand how an elder woman would be so rude and out of control of her thoughts to say these things—especially after explaining I’m not camping out. I really am sorry someone in the past created the need to be so protective of your parking lot, but a little professionalism in a situation like this can get you a longer way than it has here. I really meant no harm and honestly wasn’t very excited to pull over in your lot to calm my kid down...This could of been handled so differently, but now I will never want to step foot inside this business, let alone the parking lot. I will be sharing how poorly you have treated a potential customer and how you respond to your fellow community..such a bummer..

If your looking for the best offerings in yarn youve found it. Natalie and her staff at Knitting Off Broadway will help you make your selection for your knitting projects. You may pay a bit more but never the less your not shopping at Walmart for specialty yarns. I know Ill continue to be a loyal client. Thanks again Natalie and staff.

Love this store, and love the people. Wish I had the money to visit more often, as the prices for yarn can get a little salty, but that is only because it is very high quality. As for the rude people, dont park in spots designated and paid for by someone else. Many elderly folk visit this establishment, and need the parking. Love this store, and I will be returning as often as possible.

Knitting Off Broadway is one of my favorite places in Ft. Wayne. Talk about ambiance!Quality yarn, excellent customer service, and plain old good company - every tool a knitter needs and more.Hard to understand the comment about waiting a half hour. When someone is getting help, they get the time needed to satisfy their needs - so if I have to wait for my turn, no problem - because when it is my turn, I get the time necessary for all my questions and decisions. Thanks to the entire staff at Knitting Off Broadway and all the great people I have met over the years!

Oodles and oodles of yarn in a gorgeous, historically rehabbed building. The smell gets me every time...probably the best selection of yarns I’ve ever shopped under the same roof. I’m always grateful to get to shop here. The staff and owner are knowledgeable and have knit with every yarn in the store. A lovely series of ongoing classes that encourage beginner and andvanced knitters, need I go on? Save some time to stay and touch it all, it’s my favorite thing to do. Be sure to ask where the clearance yarns live, it’s virtually impossible to purchase artisan yarns discounted anywhere!

I love going to Knitting Off Broadway! Everyone at the store is so helpful with finding fun new projects and yarns to work with! I was even so surprised and thrilled when Natalie offered to assist me with difficult knitting instructions for a project I did nt even purchase at her store! Now that goes behind the call of duty!

Reading the reviews it seems that owners/staff dont want to accept how rude they are and own their responsibility in that. I WAS a customer in the store. I was ignored for a half hour. When I asked for assistance I was made to feel burdensome. None the less I bought overpriced yarn in a general support for the neighborhood and local business and as a thanks for advice, which turned out to be completely wrong.

This is one of my all-time favorite yarn shops! I live in Tallahassee, FL, and Ive been in a lot of yarn shops, but Knitting Off Broadway is one of the best Ive been in. Ive always been greeted as soon as I walk in the door, and someones also asked immediately if they can help me. If theres anything in particular Im looking for, the staff has been so helpful in assisting me to find it. If I just want to browse, someone always comes by every once in a while to find out if Im finding things OK. The shop is in a gorgeous building and is loaded with the most incredible variety of yarns in all price ranges. Ive bought lots of yarn, needles, pattern books, you name it here. And if theres something I might be interested in purchasing in future by e-mail, the staffs written down all the details for me so that I can order the item or items online. I only wish I lived closer to Knitting Off Broadway! Im delighted that theres now an online yarn shop for Knitting Off Broadway. Ill no doubt be ordering more from them.

Yarn was lovely! Staff was ok. Felt judged from the moment I entered the store and was approached and invited to visit the sale section less than 5 minutes after my arrival in my plaid flannel jacket, large heavy duty truck, and toddler son on my hip. I can afford to shop in your store but you will get no more of my business. If you don’t fit the Mercedes SLK300 profile that they want at their store, go to The Fifth Stitch in Defiance, OH. I drove the same truck and wore the same jacket with my son in his car seat and the owner daughter rocked my son to sleep while I walked the shop in all it’s glory and was not once asked if I wanted to see the sale section.

I live more than 600 Miles away from the store. But they had the yarn I wanted so I ordered it online. Turns out I made a mistake and it wasnt the color I wanted and so I called them. They helped me get the color I wanted and took back the yarn I didnt want. They have been lovely to work with and Ive ordered other yarns from them. They even went back to obe manufacturer to get them to dye more of one color I wanted. I only wish they were a LOT closer to me so I could go to the store in person.

This is probably my all time favorite store although I live no where near the place. In 2009 I was living in Philadelphia and on the way to visit family in Berne, we stopped in Knitting Off Broadway. I was a bit hesitant when we went in; Im a luxury yarn junky and I had recently had a bad experience with knitter snobbery in another state. When I walked in the door I immediately knew I was in a fiber lovers paradise. All of the brands I knew and loved were there, test knitted and beautifully displayed. Yarns Id never dreamed of seemed to be calling out to me. I was immediately approached and I remember trying to politely blow the woman off so I didnt have to deal with another rude sales person. My boyfriend came in the store after me, and she approached him. He explained he was there with me and they chatted. A few minutes later, both of them came up to me to show me some yarns I might like. And a pattern I had been eyeing up on ravelry. And a book I needed but didnt know existed. This is when I fell in love with the place. Now, every time we go to Berne (once a year), we make it a point to stop back at Knitting Off Broadway. The staff dont remember me, nor would I expect them to. But despite them not knowing me, every year without fail, Im treated like a regular customer. This is a sign of an amazing staff. Id recommend this place to anyone at any skill level.
