I highly recommend Lone Star Scuba. Owners Manny & Sharon are some of the kindest people you will ever meet. They genuinely care about the welfare & safety of beginning divers and theyve created a network of excellent instructors. They are very thorough and detail-oriented with instruction and planning. One of the staff even let me borrow his personal scuba equipment. I was genuinely impressed. I would 100% recommend Lone Star Scuba - you will not be disappointed.

The owner Manny spent an hour with my wife and I walking us thru different mask, snorkels, and fins to find the right fit. Explained everything and was very patient. Amazing service and high quality gear. We will come here for all our needs.

I gave this shop the runaround and they stayed completely kind and accomodating. Good people. My hubby bought me a wetsuit. Turns out it didnt fit and they kindly accepted the return. Then we purchased their scuba certification. My doctor wouldnt agree to it (medical issues) and again they kindly gave us our money back. Highly recommend. 5 stars.

Wow! I enrolled my girlfriend to get her open water cert. Since her sign up with Lone Star Scuba she has been thrilled!Lone Star Scuba and their staff are the most caring professionals I have ever encountered. We were nervous about the final open water test being that it is March and the water temp was wayyyy too cold for me! However, Lone Star Scuba provided ample protection by allowing my girlfriend to borrow one of the owners personal suits! Come on, who does that?In closing I have been diving for sometime all over the world, if you want first class service from precessional instructors that deeply care about you success under water, Lone Star Scuba is your place!

I was gifted a Scuba certification course and gear for my birthday. Lone Star Scuba was amazing to work with, especially for a beginning diver. They helped me buy all the right gear (not the most expensive), and were very flexible with the open water course as I had to cancel my scheduled weekend due to a car accident. Chief was a great instructor and Manny and Sharon were great. I would highly recommend Lone Star Scuba if you want a great learning experience!

Excellent service; lovely people who are professional and accommodating! Sharon was super knowledgeable in helping me pick the correct gear and when the covid shutdown happened in the middle of my open water course, she would call and update on their availability and changes in policy etc. Staff even opened up their own backyards for pool training and the instructors I worked with (Tim and Kim) were very patient and excellent teachers.

These guys are great! Ive been training, renting, and buying equipment from them for almost a year and had a positive experience each time. I just wish they were closer because I drive past a couple other scuba shops to go to their store!

I stopped into Lone Star Scuba to get a new strap for my face mask. Unfortunately, the old clip broke when the owner tried to to put the new one on. It was no big deal, since the clip where the strap inserts had become brittle and the new one was velcro anyway.. The new strap was fine, but the owner insisted on giving me the strap for free.This is why diligent businesses succeed. Customer/owner relationships. Thank you.

These guys are the TOP of the TOP. I needed some help with a project to work on a drain in a swimming pool. They explained why I needed to use a snorkel instead of a scuba without training. Further they told me how to and how the snorkel with safety! If I was to ever really wanna start diving -- I would use these guys!

I began diving in 1993 and dove passionately until I had children. I recently went into Lone Star Scuba to speak with the staff about getting back into the sport. Over the years I have been in several dive shops, large dive outlet stores, and online shops. After speaking with the staff, we decided it would be best for me to take the open water course again because of the 12+ years I have been out of the water. I agreed with their assessment. After they inspected my equipment they agreed that there was no need for me to purchase new mask, fins, snorkel because mine would work. I sincerely appreciated the honesty. They did point out that my fins were looking a little worn and to be cautious of that (they were purchased in 1993). The Classroom part of the training was at the store and I couldnt resist purchasing a new pair of fins which were awesome during the class. The store is one of the nicer run dive shops I have been in. Service is excellent and they have a great selection of ScubaPro equipment. The instructors, dive masters, and owners are great to work with. Im looking forward to many years of SCUBA fun with this shop and their employees and partners.

Great instructor, with a lot of experience. Hes super patient and knowledgeable. The shop is filled with generally polite, nice people. I had some concerns and they were addressed timely and respectfully and the owner is highly conscious of the accountability and reliability of his store and his employees. Theyre easy to talk to and to work with.

I broke my old fin straps with my 1960s fins and they were instantly helpful and even had metal weight grips for my weights. They were very friendly and I would deffinantly come again!!

I recently visited Lone Star scuba to purchase a pair of dive boots. I am new to scuba and unfortunately I had just purchased a pair of fins online so I did not have them with me to properly size. I informed the staff of all of this and they (and their boss) assured me that there was nothing to worry about! I could simply try the boots with my fins when they arrived (they were set to arrive a couple of days after the purchase of the boots) and if they didnt work out, (this part is verbatim what the manager said to me) bring them back in and well swap them out. I kept the boots untouched and sealed until the day I got my fins then took them out hopped in the pool with them for ~half and hour and quickly realized (even with my fledgling knowledge) that the fit was off as they would barely fit into the foot cup so I was essentially finning with toe strength. I immediately (literally) hopped out of the pool, grabbed my things and drove up to the store and explained. Luckily (or so I thought) the entire staff that was present upon my first purchase was there including the boss. The employees looked and saw the improper fit (I had my fins with me) and quickly said no problem, they could switch it out for the proper size. I waited by myself for a short while only to have the employee who helped me come back silently and saying Im sorry, our policy is that once the boots have been wet we cannot take them back, plus theyre clearance so.... First and foremost, I can respect a stores policy, so long as it is mentioned to me so that I know what and what not to do. I was NEVER told anything of the sort upon my purchase. I dont even see how there could have been an assumption since I mentioned to them (all of them, more than once) that I had zero experiment with scuba so my natural thought process then becomes, to try out a boot with my fin, wouldnt I try swimming with it? This seemed very logical to me as the boss told me (upon original purchase) ...dont worry if they feel a little weird, they fit better once theyre in the water. Second, if clearance items cannot be exchanged, why wasnt I informed of that either? Or for that matter, that the item was clearance? Instead I reluctantly asked about the price ($70) and the boss said they were on sale and that he could give me $20 off. Apparently that was the clearance discount bThe boss didnt even have the balls to come out and tell me this crap himself. Instead he sends out his employee who refuses to exchange he item. So ultimately Im now out 50 bucks on an item that I havent even used an hour. Thanks for the horrendous experience Lone Star Scuba Ill be sure and tell all my friends...

Ive been going here since for 17 years now for everything I need. They are extremely helpful. You just cant beat going into a local dive shop, and asking questions, and knowing that in the end, you are getting the right equipment for what you intend to do.
