Place is small but it has a lot of good deals. I would stop in here first before good to the grocery store. Also good prices on laundry detergents.

While Im grateful to have a Dollar General in Fortuna, it lacked a lot of inventory that other franchises in the area has. It was also not merchandised as well as others in the area. Also, the restroom was not available to paying customers.

Pleasantly surprised by this dollar store. Its not a favorite stop, mainly because not everything is a dollar and the quality seems low on most things. But they have almost whatever youre looking for.

Describe this place? Sure, Ill do my best. Imagine all your hopes and dreams coming to life in a single place. One magical kingdom if you will. Thats Disneyland. Dollar general has nothing to do with that but you will be amazed at the variety of relatively quality items at affordable prices!

Always like to find good deals in here, but make sure your not just thinking it sounds like a good deal, and check other stores pricing

If you look for the deals you will often find them. Its a careful balance between price and quality though so pay attention. Sometimes the quality is simply too poor despite the price to justify the purchase. Often times, however, you can find a decent bang for your buck so its worth checking out. Some things they will usually have and others its hit or miss so you dont know for sure what you might find.

I have been an employee with Fortuna Dollar General for a few months, but all mine and my familys shopping is done here! I love all the deals we always have, and all of the staff are amazing! Reading some reviews I see most say packed isles and dirty floors, but with the new management over us and a great team, I hope you revisit and see the REAL Dollar General and enjoy our store as much as others including ourselves.

Fast Shopping, Thrifty Store.We shop here for the essentials, paper products, plastic bags of all kinds, foil cook pans, etc. Soo many different types of goods to buy at a reduced price. Trash bins, underwear, canned goods, candy, chips and cookies. All at very low prices. Good place to Shop. Come here once a week. Will recommend to Everyone.

I was dissapointed that they did not have a restroom for customer use. Other than that, the staff was friendly and this store was better laid out than others I have been to.

I gave this establishment 2 stars instead of 3 because the word, DOLLAR, in the title of the stores name is misleading, in my opinion.This is NOT a dollar store. It is a discount store, and there are deals to be had of you are familiar with the prices of the items elsewhere, but you can also pay significantly more here if youre not careful...For example, there are a lot of, 3 for $xxx, mixtures requiring you to do a little arithmetic to determine whether your actually paying more for an item than you would someplace else.The selection is good, the staff is friendly, and the store is clean.My recommendation? Become acquainted with the actual prices of these items elsewhere and then apply your frugal shopping shrewdness accordingly.

The nicest people who are very helpful and kind.I actually didnt have enough money for my purchase (I had evidently misplaced a $100.00 bill 😞) and I wasnt even close to being able to afford what I had and did not know what to do ‼️ I broke down crying and everything. They were so sweet and just like hey, stuff happens, Im sure you will find it ❣️ The manager came over and she put her arm around me and said ohh honey, dont cry... Well save All of your stuff, just put the whole cart right here (behind the counter) and then you can come back and not have to go get everything all over again, okay ⁉️You could tell They truly felt bad for me and I felt badly for them too. It was really an uncomfortable moment that they handled extremely well and I cannot say enough great things and thank yous ❣️❣️❣️ I did go back and get my stuff which actually surprised the next shift manager. She said nine times out of ten, it doesnt happen. I even had exact change and that made her really happy 🌞

I dont know why others gave the store a good review. I have only been in there once but its the worst store Ive ever seen. Stuff stacked in the aisles and in carts. It looked like a kid had walked down each aisle knocking things off onto the floor. I left without buying anything.

Lololo theyll say hello to anyone walking in. I went in and out three times to test it and each time they did it.

Convenient, good customer service

Grade B merchandise under paid employees who arent always very friendly. Like most Dollar Generals the store is kinda dirty and very disorganized. Youll almost always have stock blocking the isles. There are many other better choices than this over priced place.

The dollar general in rio dell ca is sooooo busy, thats the reason for the occasional understocking of some things ive found that if im patient and i ask, usually, the helpful staff can find me what im looking for or a suitable substitute soon enough. Prices are great, quality is good, better than walleyes lol.

I love dollar general in Riddell and here in Fortuna. We are lucky to have not just one but two dollar gen. Stores within a 10 Mile distance of each other. I bet they are jealous of that in the Eureka Arcata area as they are still without a dollar general or other dollar family stores except a dollar tree in Arcata at valley West. I cant wait until we get a dollar grocery store, I had the pleasure of going to one in Stockton California not to long ago and was impressed. Thanks google for asking and dollar gen. for being a part of the community and here in Fortuna.
