Fully delicious and worth the 20 min drive. The chocolate donut with cream filling tastes like marshmallow. So good! They are a little pricier, but it is worth the value. Oh and for those that dont know (because I sure didnt) kolaches are a filling (sausage and cheese, ham and cheese) with bread wrapped around. Again, so delicious.
Shipleys is a great place to get donuts! The staff is very friendly and courteous. I went through the drive through and was pleasantly surprised by how polite they were. The lady at the window made an effort to conversate and it was nice during my short wait. She complemented my wifes glasses and thanked her for being a nurse during this time. It was also very efficient and I was out of the drive through within 3 minutes. Also how can I forget how delicious the donuts are! Very happy with the food and service. I will definitely be getting donuts here again.
We really like thier donuts. Great quality, good donuts without a high cost. They offer first responder and military discount. They have coffee and kloches (spelling?) as well. Great place to stop for a quick donut, or grab for the office. They also offer drive through service.
The items on the menu are really outstanding. Great friendly staff. Fast service. A frequently visited place for both home and work needs.
The best donuts. Cannot stress this enough. You eat a fresh Shipleys donut, and youre starting your day right. And Kolaches. I missed them so much. Westco has the best ones with their sourdough though. If youre ever in Houston get Shipleys donuts, and Westco Kolaches
One of my employees that lives in the area brought an assortment in this morning. I had a cinnamon roll and, I must say, I believe it is the best cinnamon roll I have had in my 65 years! Light, airy, and yeasty like a good glazed donut but all the cinnamon flavor of a good roll. Excellent!
Mildly impressed...I mean they were not bad but they are not worth going out of your way for. If you are passing by and want some donuts sure they will satisfy your craving but other than that its...meh. Also, they dont carry the cream cheese filled donuts at this location which is also a disappointment
Really great donuts. So happy they opened up a place close to home.
It was our first time at a Shipley Do-Nut shop. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We bought a dozen different donuts and 2 ham and cheese kolaches. Everyone enjoyed what they ate. Daughter-in-law said the strawberry filled was the best fruit filled donut she has ever had. Will definitely be visiting again.
First time ever having Shipleys. The staff was extremely friendly which was a nice way to begin my day. I would go back for the customer service alone. I was a little taken back by the fact that no one was wearing a mask but Im sure that means they are going above and beyond with regards to their sanitation and cleaning.I bought the donuts for a group of people and we all agreed that the donuts were okay. The taste was alright but they didnt really seem fresh to any of us, unfortunately. Still, I can see myself trying them again.
Shipley donuts are THE BEST for flavor, good ingredients, good selection, and reasonable price. You know how other donuts leave a taste in your mouth or taste like wax?? NOT Shipley’s, these donuts are real food and taste like it. I fell in love in Texas but am so happy they are in Colorado. They should open one in CO Springs!!!
Mmmm sausage cheddar jalapeño kolaches are so good! Donuts were so fresh and warm they melt in your mouth.
Great local business! Gives discounts to military and first responder.
Amazing simple donuts in Colorado. This is in fountain... Just try their glazed donuts! Donut lovers rejoice!
This is our favorite donut shop. To leave Texas and find it here. #AMAZING
Drove about 20 miles to get some donuts because I heard amazing things. I thought it was nice that they dont force you to wear a mask if you dont feel comfortable although,I did wear a mask. The donuts looked amazing. Unfortunately, the boxes dont hold up well. I almost dropped my donuts about 5 times because the boxes are way too flimsy for the weight. The employees werent the nicest. They dont acknowledge you when you walk in and they all kind of seem on edge. I overheard the manager/owner yelling at an employee which was extremely unprofessional, which made me understand why most od the employees seemed on edge. As far as taste, the do n uts were pretty good. The cotton candy one, didnt taste good so I wouldnt suggest that but overall they were good. Not too sweet. The environment is what killed it. And the box.EDIT: In response to the owner; it doesnt appear that I have been the only one that had made that accusation. And by the unprofessional, condescending response, readers can make the assumption that claims are true.In regards to the box, if you were really, truly sorry about the quality, you would make an attempt to receive better quality products rather than just condescendly apologize.
I grew up on Shipley’s in the south and always fantasized about them coming up to Colorado. Well worth the 30 minute drive down the Fountain to buy them! Pretty sure if they opened up a store in the Springs, I’d be visiting my doctor a lot more often. Their donuts beat Amy’s, Hurts, and Duncan hands-down!
Omg looking for the best donuts Shipleys it is. I lived in Texas for years where no matter what one u went to they taste the same. Hands down they pass the test at this location donuts were delicious 🤤 want a light donut without as much dough try these
Don’t get me wrong, the donuts are delish! But I can’t get over the fact that the employees do not all wear masks, nor does the owner. I’m done going there. If it’s a mandate to wear masks, then follow it. Giving a 1 for not wearing masks, would give more if this was just for the donuts. If it’s for the overall experience.
First time trying you guys today! Everyone was friendly and I absolutely loved that nobody had a mask on and I didnt have to wear one going in the store. Will be a customer from now on!
The only place in town/area that I can get yeast cinnamon sugar donuts. I wish that I had taken a picture of the goodness, but my mouth watered with excitement and eaten a half-dozen before I had realized that I should have taken a picture.Best donut in the area, even for a chain!
Shipleys was one of the things we missed the most about Texas. We were so happy to have one not too far from home. The donuts are delicious! I have gotten them for my office and they are all hook now. We love the glazed donuts and maple! Not to mention the kolaches are always fantastic. Customer service is great, all the girls are super nice and friendly.
Overprice, old food with slow service. Go to Dunkin or get gas station donuts.
Donuts are great! If the employees were wearing masks, I’d give it five stars. The owner is obviously trying to make a statement. Hopefully the new Shipleys will have a different owner.
Great donuts and prices. Took my kids here last weekend and they had a blast picking from the wide variety. Staff is also very friendly and helpful. Best iced coffee I’ve ever had. Would go here everyday if I could 10 stars
I have never been to Shipleys and decided to give it a try today. They were out of almost every single donut and said the wait would be 30 mins. What donut shop has no donuts especially on a Friday morning. I did not stay and will not be back. Apparently it is national donut day and if that is the excuse that is going to be given then at least the employees should be trained to state such and apologize for the inconvenience. The apathetic attitude is what is costing Shipleys money and future customers.
Service is great and quality of food is above most chains. Willing to customize items within reason as they come off the line. Only thing I would like to change is severity of glaze; way too thick for my liking. If you like sweetness overload then this is your place!
I have a nut allergy, which Shipley Do-Nuts was able to accommodate easily! I ordered a dozen donuts which they made with extra precautions of cross contamination for next day pick up. Thanks to them I had my first donut in years!!!Thank you! The donuts were delicious.
Great supply of all types of donuts. Delicious and a truly great staff
This place is my go to always for the best donuts around. Fast, friendly staff and super yummy donuts 😊
Normally fantastic, but lately the people in the drive through have been clueless and take 0 pride in what they do. My order has been wrong 3/4 the last times and today my kolaches were raw. Clearly raw, not just a little doughy.Im a texas girl and Shirpleys is one of my favorites back home, but after being charged for other peoples orders, receiving the wrong food, and now this, I dont think Ill be returning. What stars are given are because I know how good it CAN be. Its just frustrating to expect something and be sorely disappointed.Reply to the owner: every time I call they say the manager isnt in currently but I can try to call back.
LOVE this place and LOVE that they do NOT discriminate against community members unable to wear the masks due to medical concerns. Not everyone can wear them so the people on here complaining about masks need to understand that and actually read the entire mandate. I appreciate them having such a clean store and amazing employees who go above and beyond. Do-nuts are always fresh and yummy, said from a daily loyal customer. Keep up the great work guys because you cannot please them all but you are making the majority HAPPY.
My husband is lactose intolerant so we drive all the way in for a plain kolache at breakfast time (8am) and they are 9/10 always out. They only have the ones with cheese. Want a particular donut? Also out. If you are always out, increase production. It’s not like we were coming at 2pm wanting a plain kolache and a crazy donut.
Shipleys is one of the best! I live in the Springs and I have definitely driven down to Fountain to grab some donuts and kolaches. The kolaches from here are some of my favorites and I love the glazed and chocolate frosted donuts. Their food always tastes fresh and delicious! and the staff is super friendly and helpful. Worth the drive!
Doughnuts good very much like Krispy Kreme. Coffee very good. The kalosh things are amazing
I really wish i could give no stars. This place is always out of EVERYTHING! And do it’s are never fresh after 10am
These donuts are the softest and most satisfying Ive ever tried! The taste is perfect, I love how simple the flavors are. I highly recommend giving the kolaches a try!
Great staff.. Amazing donuts. We will be back for sure. 😉
I have loved Shipley Donuts my whole life. So happy we have one now!! The staff are so warm and welcoming and the donuts and pastries are so fresh and amazing. My heart break for this locally owned business though due to all the negative Karens with their mask complaints. Just stop, everyone is doing the best they can and I feel safe every time I go there. GREAT PLACE!!
All the food items are delicious here! The drive thru is quick and easy. Come early in the day because they do run out of items by lunchtime.
Good donuts. Clean and fast service.
Went in this morning for the first time and was so impressed by how friendly everyone was, especially the lady who served me. I believe she might have been the owner. The whole place was so clean and boy did they have a great selection. I will be returning, probably weekly haha. The glazed were so fresh and warm. Love it.
They have amazing donuts, but the reason for 1 star NOT A SINGLE EMPLOYEE WEARS A MASK!! Wont go back
Best donut shop in and around the Springs. The Jalapeño Kolache is also a favorite.
Great doughnuts. I love all of the fillings. I love that they dont charge extra to fill Long Johns. The doughnuts are always fresh, made the same day, and made from scratch. I applaud them for marching to a beat of their own drum.I choose Shipleys over other great doughnut shops because, unlike other businesses in town that choose to operate in fear and mask up, common sense drives this great crew of doughnut making professionals. Masks dont protect you. Masks are nothing more than the appearance of protection. Look at the warning label on every mask available to purchase today (unless their a respirator) and they all say about the same thing; not intended for the prevention of infectious disease. Ive looked locally at Costco, Walmart, Sams Club and Safeway. Ive also looked at multiple mask vendors online, specifically Amazon. Ive not found a mask yet without a variation of the words not intended for the prevention of infectious disease. But please, dont take my word for it, do your own research and discover for yourself how little protection masks offer.I know Shipleys is SAFE because the crew members wears gloves and wash their hands and change their gloves and wash their hands between customers and tasks. Gloves and hand washing are what offers the best protection against infectious diseases. I have watched as employees have washed their hands inbetween every customer and changed gloves between customers. This makes Shipleys as SAFE of place as you are going to find to enjoy a great doughnut.
I knew then from Texas and they are still the best in the state. The kolaches are the best!
Exceptionally friendly service! Great yummy donuts.
Omg! Kolache!
Delicious!! We Didnt care they didnt have masks on... the Donuts and service were still great!!
I absolutely love this place. Its amazing!!! The employees are great and gave some great advice on what donuts to get! Pumpkin spice and blueberry cake is now my absolute favorite! The owner treats costumers and employees like family. Such a great place to be!
Great place for your donut needs!!
The cake donuts are fantastic to have with morning coffee and the employees are very friendly!
Im from Texas where Shipley originated and I know someone who personally knew one of the founders. I am beyond excited for Shipley to have made it to Colorado!
They will give you a half empty cup if you order no ice because they are just that cheap. They also had no masks on which is absolutely disgusting. Very bold way of saying you do not care a single bit for your customer’s safety/health.The owner needs to close up shop and find a new field because this ain’t it sis. You’re doing a horrible job. 😂
Very friendly & courteous staff, a real treat in the fast food arena. Fantastic Apple Fritters. Will be back often.
Friendly service. This was my first visit here and explained all of the options - yes, its donuts, but every place does things a little differently. I got a dozen. Tasty fillings and very fresh donuts! They also have Kolaches which are like doughy pastries filled with various things. Yum! Definitely going back soon!
Literally the best donuts in all of the U.S. of A!!!
I love their donuts they are so good. And the employees there are really super nice and they seem to work together like family
We’re at peak Covid and I was absolutely disgusted because the person packing my donuts didn’t have a mask and uses the excuse I have a medical condition. You should be at LEAST wearing a face shield! We will not be coming to the store ever again. And I called the manager, and they said the owner approves of workers to not have to wear a mask if they don’t want to even serving donuts! You don’t care about our health, why should we care spending our money.
Pretty good donuts and about the expected price. Overall everything is a little bit too sweet for me compared to other donuts... The glaze, lemon filling, apple filling, etc. However the blueberry cake donuts, usually one of my favorites, are not sweet at all so I wont get those again. Not bad but not the best Ive had either.
Great service and food.Gift certs are only good at this location. Thus only 4 stars.
I would like an explanation since some of your employees cant wear masks, how you are protecting your customers? Face shields are a thing and I think you should protect us by making your employees wear them! You get one star for not caring about customers.Edit: if you havent noticed the owner will not address concerns about employees not wearing masks, she says they are all false reviews and says she takes everything seriously. I put in a report to the health department, Im sure they take that seriously.Bottom line you are not protecting me.
Tasty coffee & kolaches were tasty...
Great donuts yummy! Bit high price but better than other around
Simply amazing. The owners and staff are always more than welcoming
I used to be a big fan if Dunkin back when their focus was actually good quality doughnuts. Thankfully Shipleys has come to take over that place for me. Everything Ive tried there has been great! After trying more of the products and the kolaches, rating will probably go up...
You have kolaches written on the front of your building, but sold out? Also pretty disappointed by the anti-mask signs all over the windows.EDIT: Looks like Im not the only one who noticed you are anti-mask. Way to talk to a customer come earlier next time. Nice customer service, anti-masker.
Drove 30 mins because my husband loved these donuts back in Texas. I thought they were dry and unremarkable. Now that I know they’re being prepared without masks we won’t be going back, not worth it for dry donuts anyway.
Feels like a slice of home when we visit since we are from where shipley’s originated.
The cheapest and best tasting donuts in the area. Highly recommend.
As someone who grew up in the DFW area of Texas I have to say how grateful I am you are in CO. Both locations are incredible and for anyone posting 1 star - have a little respect for small businesses trying to make it. Your donuts are superb! The best in the country, and maybe I’m biased because I grew up on them. At 35 still one of my favorite childhood memories when my dad would have Shipleys for us in the mornings. Time flies but your donuts are still amazing today. Will tell everyone I know to come here - the absolute best donuts and that Sausage Jalapeño & Cheese Kolache :)
Vanilla coconut donuts are really good and the kohloches
My name is Karen but Im not a KAREN lol. This place is by far the best place in the Springs area to get donuts. Very clean, very welcoming, the girls are always so sweet. Dont pay any attention to the 1 stars, not too sure they are real people from their names haha. Must be a negative Nancy who was offended and grabbed her Karen friends to all attack an amazing place of business that is locally and Veteran owned.
Fountain area hasn’t had a great donut place like this!
The donuts are good however they seem to be getting smaller each time we go and they are expensive. When they first opened up it was ok because it seemed you were getting your moneys worth but not now. I would definitely recommend Amys donuts on fountain off of circle much better huge donuts and quite a bit cheaper.
I dont know how, but I vote these are better than KK! The glazed are so light and delicious, its become a Saturday tradition I look forward to.And no, I dont share.
Went there the other day and turns out that every single employee is medically exempt from wearing masks. What a coincidence!Their lack of regard for the safety of the general public has made me decide they will never receive my business again.Edit: as you can see, the owner is on the defensive, instead of fixing the health concerns that people on here have. Real class act. You wouldnt see this many reviews referencing masks if it was a one time thing.
Awesome donuts!
As much as I like Shipleys Im giving it a 1 star for the lack of employees wearing masks. I understand people have medical conditions but this is a mandate and global pandemic. I wont be going back.Edit: I just wanted to toss a quick comment to say that I get if one or two people have a medical condition. Half the employees I saw today did not have masks on. Management clearly just doesnt want to enforce it. Pay your employees with conditions to have time off if you care so much.
My Mom and I went in this morning. Vanona (hopefully I got the spelling correct) waited on us. She has great customer service. Very friendly and upbeat. The donuts were deliciousWe definitely will be back!!
I was curious to try this donut place out. It didn’t really excite me and the girl at the window had no personality.
Apparently their employees are medically exempt from wearing a mask during a massive pandemic. If they cant wear something as small and thin as a mask without some medical complication popping up, then those employees are extremely high risk if they catch covid, and shouldnt be out working anyway. How am I supposed to feel ok going to a place like this that thinks they are above the governors mask mandate?
Donuts are delicious. Wish they wouldn’t close so early in the day
Friendly staff grate tasting donuts and all at a reasonable price would recommend
I guess theyre good... but theyre constantly out of the variety that I stopped by hoping for.
Love this place. Best donuts in town and nice staff who are reasonable and thoughtful.
I loved Shipleys before the pandemic. I havent been in since pandemic. I drove thru today. There was no sign in where you order. Once you get to the window, you see the sign. First of all Im very sorry that I spent my money at a place that does not support Masks.Second, it was clear that it was not for one or two employees that were unable to wear a mask. I didnt see anyone in there with. I have a seriously disabled daughter who can wear a mask she is got down syndrome and autism and she wears a mask. I would never, ever come back again.im sure you dont care, as Im only one customer, but I think you will eventually feel the pinch
I LOVE hotdogs, ever since I was a little kid - I loved hotdogs. When my husband brought home your breakfast sausage wrapped in fresh bread, I exclaimed - THIS IS THE BEST HOTDOG I HAVE EVER EATEN!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you for being courageous, and serving a very good product.
BEST do-nuts in the Springs area! Great customer service and the freshest do-nuts I have yet to find anywhere. Definitely recommend!!!
We have been ordering once every week since they have opened. It keeps getting better and better.....if that was even possible! Great food and the staff has always been friendly no matter what time of day. Best donuts I have had and a new favorite of the family! If you had a hard time when they first opened, I would recommend trying them again. It is so hard to manage a grand opening with so much interest no matter what type of staffing you do have and have enough donuts to last through the day. Making donuts is a process.....not like the burger flipping places around it. It takes time to make dough, proof, bake, decorate, etc. etc. After ordering here multiple times, we have never been disappointed and it was well worth every single penny.
Probably best doughnuts in this area...way better compared to Dunkin
