The bourbon balls are to die for! The place is quite quaint and we got to get a tour So I must say we didnt barely spend any time in the production room which is where the majority of stuff happens and I really wanted to see...... That was the one and only downside to which is completely covered up once you try a piece of chocolate.
Nice tour. Music played on a radio in thestore/museum is way too loud and should be turned down.
Awesome candy! Great tour.
Not too sweet candy and extra sweet people.
Overpriced for the tour. The girl that led the tour had only been working there a short time. When asked how long they had been at this location, she said she didnt know about anyone else but, she had been working there since spring. The candy was good but over priced for the quanity.
Amazing to see how so few people can make so many delectable chocolates. We spent about $50 for a pound and half of various flavors and types of candies. The tour was educational on both history and the processing of cocoa. Also had a variety of antique equipment (some still in use).
Good sservice. So friendly and helpful.Candy is sooo good.Spoil yourself a little check it out.
Nice hostess...was given a complimentary Bourbon Ball which was one of the BEST I ever had...not overpowering like some bourbon balls. Didnt take the tour because it was getting late, but I understand they have a restaurant in the building where the chef cooks Thai food!!! Sorry I missed that.
Bought some candies, they were very good. Customer service was pleasant. Will probably take a tour soon.
Wonderful local candy shop. Very friendly staff. Top favorites are Bourbon balls and milk chocolate toffee! ❤️
A great stop on our weekend getaway. I wanted an assortment and have a hard time making up my mind. The super sweet cashier made us an assortment of her favorites and local favorites anf she did amazing.
We didnt get to tour the factory but the candies were delicious!
Great tour overall, but the guy doing it was only working 3 weeks and there were no samples.
Beautiful and enough sweets to satisfy anyone. Their bourbon infused chocolates arr phenomenal.
Great bourbon candy. Love this place will b going back
Delicious candy (ask for a sample) and friendly service. Wish we made it in time for a tour. Well come back
We didnt take the tour because they were not making candy at that time. We will go back and take the tour. The candy was delicious and we enjoyed sitting in the Cafe visiting and snacking on our treats.
Friendly staff. Great candy.
No tours on weekends. Sort of disappointing. Caramel covered marshmallows are wonderful, though! Plus we have an assortment of chocolates to try.
Awesome staff. Awesome candy
Candies are deliscious. Love supporting local business
Spur of the moment choice to tour and we thoroughly enjoyed!
They dont have the tours through the candy factory and museum, but they do have video tours of you are still interested in the history of the place. They always have the best candies and chocolates. The bourbon balls are the best though. If you dont care about looks and are just looking for the best tasting bourbon balls, ask for the Boo-Boo bags. They are cheaper and taste just as good.
Worth the trip! Small, quaint, friendly- only complaint I got from those receiving their candy as a gift: I should have bought more. We took the tour and enjoyed seeing the humble staff and good ole American small business success and how they overcame adversity through determination and creativity. Great product, also surprised to find a souvenir shop too! This was our first trip to Kentucky, hope it’s not our last.
Wonderful and Magical this little company! SO worth the trouble to visit and indulge in. A treat to visit and experience and repeat the treats afterwards.
My wife and I was driving through Kentucky and seen the sign for Rebecca Ruths candy. We needed to stretch and figured this would be a good place to visit. So glad we went. Excellent chocolates sold here and staff was very friendly and helpful. Would definitely visit again when driving this way and would recommend to anyone passing by .
A must-stop experience of traveling through Frankfort. Gotta try a bourbon ball at least once in your life!
What a great story of success
Be warned...this stuff is addictive! We spent quite a bit in here and I dont think there was a single piece I bought that I didnt enjoy.
Very friendly staff, as you walk in your nose is treated to the fantastic aromas from the kitchen, if you can make it past that with out an over indulgence you enter the candy shop. Wow, if you like chocolate you should just bring your sleeping bag and camp out. The bourbon ball is like a little shot with dark chocolate and a pecan finish. Didnt I say the chocolate was great?
Delicious chocolates no fudge very disappointed but I did get to design my own chocolate box.. They even had bourbon chocolate
Fantastic bourbon ball candy
Very awesome bourbon chocolate covered cherries was like takn a shot was so good
My wife loved the chocolates so much we came back two days later for more. Super friendly staff too! Nice to see some history preserved.
Great candy shop. Kids enjoyed it.
Delicious candy. Friendly staff.
Very busy excellent chocolates.....
The people who work there so obviously love and enjoy the work they do — they make the experience! The chocolate is of course wonderful and worth every bit to experience! Highly recommend 😊
We had fun going there. Got to watch a small video about the history of fruits. And the candy was delicious
My first time there and I didnt know what to expect. Staff a little confused, but it was attributed to being short staffed. Great product!!
Amazing candy and even more amazing staff! Love this place!
Very tasty and delicious candy
Awesome my first time there and its great. The candy is professional with bourbon and Rum. I bought 50.00 of chocolates look forward to enjoying them all.
We love this candy shop. I love the Bourbon balls. My favorite.
The people there were very helpful and friendly. They were also very personable.
Everything I got here was delicious, especially something raspberry flavored but I dont remember the name. There was a very nice young woman behind the counter.
Nice place friendly service
The candy is great. Some of the best bourbon balls in Kentucky. But if you’re looking for something fun to do with the family, I’d look into other options as the tour isn’t that exciting.
Had a nice tour of the Rebecca Ruth candy store and Museum. Such wonderful history. Our 6 year old granddaughter even enjoyed. Course the chocolate sample she got at the end didnt hurt.
They do not give tours within 4 days of a holiday and if you do come for a tour on the weekend not within 4 days of a holiday, the factory is actually shut down - so ‘you’re not missing much,’ as stated by one of the employees. Neither of these details were stated on their website and we drove 40 minutes out of our way to take a tour with our kids. The girls behind the counter were nice and the candy was pretty good, but overall we were disappointed with our experience here.
Interesting sample of Kentucky Old School, gotta get you some Bourbon Balls!
Visited for my annual Valentines Day candy for my wife and was very pleased to discover Miss Risas restaurant in the area opposite the candy counter. What a wonderful find! I had her red chicken curry with butter squash, lime leaf, fish sauce, and more. Absolutely delicious! As good or better than anything Ive had at the Thai Kitchen in Frankfort.
Tasty candy.
Very interesting!
Interesting story of the company. They quit making candy at about 3pm, so we didnt get to see them actually making it. That information would have been nice to know, since the information online just says they close at 5:30. Great candy though, so it was worth the trip.
Great place, yummy chocolates!!
Beautiful shop.Super kind people. Took time to visit and made me feel welcome!
Anytime I am in Frankfort I try to stop by for a boo-boo bag. Those are candies that dont quite make the cut, so theyre sold at a good discount. The flavors are the same, but you save some money.Today I took my father in law to get some candies. We had lunch and it was amazing. I got the chicken Thai curry and it was affordable and fantastic. I need to come to Frankfort more often!
Our tour guide was an absolute HOOT. He made it so much fun and the tour information was very fascinating. Also, you got a free bourbon ball at the end of the tour, how could you go wrong? We ended up taking two dozens of candy home with us that day. I HIGHLY recommend checking this place out!
The candy was delicious!!! We stopped over on our way home to NC and it was well worth it. We did the tour and the woman showed us the factory and told us the story of the company. She was very informative and knew the history and equipment well. Next time we drive through we’ll have to pay you guys a visit again. Great family business!!
We had a wonderful time doing the tour. We stopped here when headed home from a visit in KY. Awesome chocolates, with at good prices. We loved so many its to hard to list just one that we loved. So glad we got a cpl of almost everything. Plus bags of chocolate covered peanuts too. Yummy!!
Good place to go
This is my first time being there. Its very chilly. And the candy is amazing!! The chocolate was great. The bourbon was a little good. My most favorite one was the chocolate covered cherry!! Cant wait to go again someday!!!
A quirky and different place to go when your entertaining people whove been to one too many distillery tours but still want to see something related to our bourbon industry. Its actually pretty amazing to see how tiny the manufacturing area is and realize how much product they produce there. Fun tasting of candy included in the tour and lots of buying choices for gifts or for yourself. Its a short tour but our guide was good and had a good deal of knowledge to share.
I worked here all summer. I just want to say it is the most amazing first job a teen could ask for. So flexible, caring associates, and great candy! The orange creams are to die for and the chocolate covered creamed pulled candy is superb. I recommend everybody who come near Frankfort to go out of their way to visit Rebecca Ruth! You will not be disappointed by the history, tours, candy, staff, or cleanliness!
We did the tour yesterday with Creed. He was very knowledgeable, and we learned a lot about the history of the store and chocolate. The bourbon balls were great, would definitely recommend.
We were introduced to Rebecca Ruth Bourbon Balls in our hotel guest bag. We decided to visit the shop because we love anything bourbon. It was a quaint little shop in downtown Frankfort not far from the Capitol Building. I fell in love with the antique front door immediately. We didnt have time for a tour, but will definitely call ahead to schedule one when the kitchen is in production. They had a survey to fill out on the guest sign in table for a free sample for filling it out. Worth the time to do that. We tried the Moonshine Apple Pie bonbon. Even their assorted Boo Boo bag is worth the visit. We will return in the future.
Amazing employees, you can tell they really love what they do here. Chocolate is so good and dont forget to learn your history while you are here.
Cool history! And guide was very personable! Candy makers were on break when we toured, so that was kind of a bummer. Would be loved to see the factory in real action. But overall, really neat! And great chocolate! Home of the very first bourbon ball.
A very nice and hospitable place to go. They also have a really good lunch area not too expensive and plenty to eat. The people that work there are very pleasant to deal with makes you want to go back.
Great candy, unique part of Kentucky history. I highly recommend taking the tour. Production stops at 3 so get there early if you want to see the magic happen.
I visited here in the middle of a road trip. I was expecting more, larger building and a guided tour, but it was still fun. My son and I had a good time looking around at the candy and reading about some of the history of the candy maker. The staff were nice and very helpful. We had a good time.
Here lies the story of where bourbon balls were invented! Its a great stop, with one epic assortment of homemade candies! Loved the service, and if you go ask for Stephanie, because she was simply the BEST! Chocolate covered cherries, or the maple butter covered in chocolate, even chocolate horses....Stop here for some rich RICH Kentucky history and take home a lot when you go!
Delicious candies! And its really cool to see how its made. The staff is nice and accommodating. They have different kinds of candies than Ive heard of before, like pulled candies that taste like dinner mints (that creamy, almost powdery texture) but not mint flavored. The marshmallows covered with caramel are DELICIOUS! The chocolates remind me of a more delicious version of Hersheys chocolate. Ill probably order my sweets from them (I live in TX), so itll limit my intake of sweets but be OH so good!
Everyone needs to visit this place.
Stop by here at least twice a month. Always friendly staff. Great bourbon balls!
