Wonderful Experience! Our sales contact, Zach was wonderful to work with and very knowledgeable. When we were handed off to the finance team I was a little skeptical if my high opinion would change (finance rooms can stress you out!). There was no need for concern. Mike was awesome, full of character and kindness. He then handed us off to Dave so I could learn about our new Atlas and he would not disappoint either, he handled everyone of my ridiculously silly questions (how do I turn the radio on?) with patience and excitement. The entire team made us feel like they were truly happy for us to have this car. Zach, Mike and Dave, thank you for making a dreaded experience easy, and even a little fun! Update: Morten, the GM reached out and did his best to correct the initial interaction and provide good customer service. I appreciated his efforts and time.Horrible Customer Service..... Buyer Beware.....I was refused a copy of my fuse box diagram and refused to purchase a copy when I offered to buy it. Instead, was told to make an appointment with the service center to have the fuse replaced.... Ever heard of extortion? Also, I was treated rudely and told Their technicians get paid for their time including reading diagrams. WOW..... So, many people stop me and look at my VW Beetle daily. Because of the color and condition of my car, people are always trying to take pictures with it. I will tell every single person NOT to waste their time or money purchasing from this dealership.

I drove down from PA to look at a GLI. The salesman, Bill gave me a total price that was incredibly high. When I told him what I thought, he made no attempt to work with me on the price. The next day, I got a text message from the sales manager telling me they accidentally gave me the wrong price. Too late. I found another dealer that was much more willing to work out a price I was happy with. So thats where I spent my money.
UPDATE: I am updating my review (from 2 stars to 4) after the dealership contacted me to resolve the issues above. The damage done to my car was resolved to my satisfaction, and the service manager ensured the job was done correctly as well as making it very clear that the dealership wants to make things right and retain my business. I believe they have done everything in their power to amend their internal processes and procedures. Based on the whole of this experience, I will continue to take my car there for maintenance.Prior Review:My Service Advisor was fine, and the manager was nice and helpful, but overall my trust in the service department at Fitz has drastically diminished. Aside from the service staff crashing my car in the lot, the body repair job was not complete when I came to pick it up, even after being sent back a second time to the collision center. I have to bring my car back again, and aside from the inconvenience and my wasted time, I dont want the service staff driving my car. I noted that there are extra, unexplained miles on the car (extra miles above the 2 round trips to the collision center), and my cars mode was changed to Sport mode by whoever drove the car when it was under service and repair - leading me to believe the car was joy-ridden as there is no necessity to do that. I will probably not return to Fitz for any major service, and would not advise others to do the same. At least, not for collision repairs.
I want to thank David Harrison and the entire Fitzgerald team for all of their help last night while we purchased our new 2020 Mazda CX-9. I know it was really late and we kept everyone there past closing time. I work in the customer service/sales industry as well and I recognize exceptional service when I see it! Everyone last night was friendly, helpful and didnt seem upset at all to stay late to help us out!We love the car and we are very thankful for everyones service, patience and friendliness! I had to take my vehicle in for service, So I wanted to go to a difference location. I took my vehicle to Fitz Auto Mall Volkswagen in Frederick. They are the best. love the set-up. The staff was very nice and understanding. Provided me with all the information of the recommend for my car.
Love my new VW Beetle. However, it was missing a small part on the front bumper area and I was told it would be mailed to me. I have never received it and my husband and I have tried to connect with the sales manager as well as the salesperson who sold us this vehicle with NO avail. NO ONE returns our calls. I would never recommend this dealership.

Yikes. I have a decent sample size of dealerships to compare this to - and my family’s experience here is by far the worstwe’ve ever had in a dealership. We communicated thoroughly with them in advance to lease a VW golf R - they were out of state so we drove 3 hours to get there and were assured all was set for us - until we get there. Turns out the quote we received was faulty because they “didn’t have experience” with one pay leases and miscalculated everything multiple times with thousands of dollars of margins of error. It made its way to a female manager who not only didn’t know how to calculate basic percentages, but was yelling at her employees, and was being increasingly rude to both them and us. We wasted time and money getting to the dealership that clearly had no business assuring us of a quote on a lease they had no experience setting up. Not only disappointed in the costly mistake and hopeful they learn from it, but above all extremely disappointed and shocked by the behavior of the manager - that even the employees had to apologize for.
I had a problem opening my gas cap door and so just drove in to have it checked. Fitzgerald was super helpful. They took it right in and it was time for service so I had them do that too. Service was quick and Chris was pleasant and helpful. They have been taking care of my car since I purchased it there. Ill go back.

I have been trying to avoid bringing my car to a dealership mechanic for a long time due to past experiences. due to the seriousness of my cars problem I took a chance on fitzgerald VW. make the long story short, i am satisfied with the work they have done, have warranty on their work, and no up-selling was done, I think i have found my shop.
Took our car into be serviced (starting issue) they told us it would be $300 to fix it, thats parts and 1 hour of labor. They said that they have to take a few things off to put on the new part.When I looked it up online and called around 1. The part was $40 (VW part from the dealer). 2. It was a RELAY that you plug into next to the battery! The man at auto parts laughed when he heard what they were charging us. In fact he felt so badly that it took him all of FIVE minutes with NO tools to put the new relay in.After all was said and done, it turned out the relay was not bad and that its something else. When I called VW they said Well its the first thing we replace to see if that fixes the problem. Seriously? They were going to charge me $300 and didnt even know if it was bad or not?!We ended up taking our car to Good Neighbor in Woodboro. Actually and honest mechanic!

The place for VW service. Done right the first time and faster than expected.
From the moment l dropped my 2016 VW off for service I had a bad feeling that I was going to get overcharged. What was expected to be a warranty service turned out to be a dealer service charge. Having 28000 miles on my car which is less than two years old, I lost power twice, stuck in parking lots for 15-20 minutes until the car returned to normal operation. I took it to Fitzgerald VW in Frederick to get checked out. They tell you up front that if its a problem caused by mice or operator error I would get a diagnosis charge. Well their diagnosis was a loose battery terminal. According to Fitzgerald, VW doesnt warranty parts that come loose. How is it that a manufacturer wouldnt cover their own car coming loose? This was on top of other warranty repairs scheduled and an oil change scheduled. The VW was previously taken to another dealer for an oil change and inspection. Stohlman VW either pencil whipped their check or mice climbing under the hood with a wrench and took off the terminal. At any point Reattaching a battery terminal here will cost you over $100.I feel if they can blame it on you and charge you vs the warranty, they will.
