Did some cleaning. Sold several boxes of books. They dont pay a lot, but it beats trashing the books or trying to find a buyer. The store has a lot of interesting media. The store has a nice feel to it, and the staff are very friendly.

I love the store and have been a customer to Hagerstown and Frederick locations for years.Some of the employees were not very kind to the new hires here. Or myself and my spouse. What a shame.

This is the LARGEST used book store I have EVER seen! It has EVERYTHING! You can even rent DVDs to watch. Everything is super organized, with lots of categories to choose from. Books range from old to new, with reasonable prices. The employees are super friendly and eager to help you find what you are looking for. I rarely leave with less than 5 books. It is a great store, I love shopping here.

Excellent secondhand bookshop!We were visiting the area and looking for a good book store. This one exceeded our expectations. They have everything! Games, movies, books...The prices are great. We’ll definitely be returning the next time we’re in the area.

Used to love coming here for cheap used manga, but I few months ago they hiked the prices up from about $3 to somewhere around $7. Doesnt feel worth it to spend almost as much money as a new volume would run you on someplace like Rightstuf. Havent bought from them since. Anime DVD prices are still pretty low but its rare to find anything good & not scratched.

Selection is gigantic. When I feel like watching a certain movie, I can just stop by here and find it 95% of the time. A large portion of my record collection is from here too, and they have a nice turntable to test them for scratches. Employees are polite and helpful. Prices are decent. After you rent a certain number of movies, every subsequent dvd rental is free for the first week. great stuff

I purchased a copy of Gallivant by Ronald Roose. Published in 1979.Described on the website as in Very good condition. Good dust jacket.Certainly is! Im so happy to have a first edition in such good condition.Thank you so much. Ill treasure this.

Great place to buy used books, music, movies and more. There are definitely gems here that you can find. The prices seem to be very fair.

Love, love, love this place! I could spend a whole day just wandering around. Walked in the other day, just looking for something to read and found it in the first minute.

We have never been to the area before so we were looking around and seen the store and had to stop to check it out. I was totally amazed by the size of the store and how much there was too look at! I could have spent days looking at all the mystery books!! The staff there is very friendly, and super helpful!! Its a great second had store, and there is something for everyone!! I cant wait to go back, and I highly recommend stopping by if you havent already!! :)

Well my friend and I were super excited to come and sell some of our old favorite books... It’s a shame no one ever came out to look at the books and make an offer like they said they would. We called the correct location 3 times, talked to 3 different people, parked in all different lots, and followed all of their directions. Don’t mean to be a “Karen” about this, but I’d like to speak to the manager.

Okay, this place is great for anyone into media in general. I mean, cmon, they have LaserDisc! I cant wait to go back and keep sifting through their collection. Prices are great. Remember, youre supporting a business that provides a fantastic service.

Love this used book store. They have a huge selection of books in the Frederick and Gaithersburg locations. In addition they have an on-line warehouse.

For me, this is th best of all of their locations. Maybe because I am most familiar with it, or because this dungeon of books has been explored and plundered the most by me. It is so wonderful to go and the staff are just a delight to see and work with whenever you go into the store. They will always help you whenever you need guidance or a person with a ladder to get to the top shelf!

I brought about 25 movies to sell. They onlygave me $5.00 for all of them. Thought it was very low.

Place is absolutely awesome. Although they need to get in touch with the fact that they have a customer who regularly comes in there a young man who has some sort of emotional defect who verbally abuses customers calling them names and racial slurs. Upon visiting Wonder books for the first time I came with my friend who was African-American oh, I myself and Im Caucasian we were outside looking at what the store had to offer in the form of CDs and DVDs. When suddenly we were accosted by a young white gentleman who said we should stop stealing and called my friend a criminal and said black people need to stop stealing. Among other terrible things that he said. I immediately went inside and expressed this concern and was attacked by a customer who apparently knew this young man and stated that he had emotional problems and some sort of emotional defect. Well you would not know that and I can understand that being a problem but the manager promptly said that he has had problems with this person in the past. Apparently this customer with emotional problems does this to other customers and has done it many times they need to really get a handle on this because if they are aware of the situation and they are continuing to allow this person on their premises they are liable for what he is doing to their customers and our opening themselves up for a libel suit. You cannot voluntarily allow someone to abuser customers just because they have some sort of mental defect. That is simply not excusable lots of people have problems and theres people that do have mental issues but if you are aware of it and you allow them to come into your store and abused your customers thats on you. I will not be going back to the store which is unfortunate. Im writing this review to let the store know and other people know that they could put a stop to this very quickly by telling the young man but hes not allowed on their property if he abuses customers. If he is able to walk out in public by himself and is verbally abusive and threatening. Very simple get it ex parte order and dont allow him on your property. But theyve chosen to allow this person to continue to be on their property and harass and be verbally abusive to their paying customers.

Wonder Book & Video is a gem of a store; if you want it chances are quite good that they have it on their shelves. Friendly, knowledgeable staff makes interactions pleasant. Their prices fit most any budget. You can find childhood classics, first editions, knickknacks, etc.

Kind of a rare gem in Frederick, movies, books, just a LOT of everything. Good for collectors.

The blonde (nearly bald) man who was working july 5th at 5:30 needs to be fired. worst possible customer service i have ever received. i am a new customer and was confronted with snarky remarks right off the bat by this rude man with a bad attitude. will not be coming here ever again and will encourage friends to avoid this place at all costs as well.

A great place to find used and collectable books, vinyl records, CDs, DVDs and other related items.Unless you know exactly what you want and ask the staff for it - give yourself a LOT OF TIME to browse and find treasures.They have a train load of stuff stacked from the floor to the ceiling.They really need a larger space where browsing is easier and may mean more sales for the store.People wont buy what they cant see.Im assuming that theyd need a football stadium sized space to display everything for easier access.I was browsing for some new to me CDs. I couldnt see anything for sale above my head or anything lower than my knees. I would have purchased more CDs if I could have been able to see them.I also was looking for a certain type of comic book.They had boxes of miscellaneous boxes of comics to dig through. Unfortunately those boxes are on the floor which makes it hard for someone with a bad back like me.I had an appointment and I didnt have time look through the vinyl records and DVDs. Thats first on my next visit.The store can be a bit overwhelming.However...if like digging, hunting, sifting and sorting - youll really love this place.

Attempted to drop off books for store credit for the first time. A employee came out and asked me (with his hand on his hips) Do you want to exchange your books or what? I said yes while exiting my vehicle apologised for not knowing the routine. He corrected me by saying, then you should pay attention then I told him he lost our business and drove away. I will not recommend or return.

You may want to plan for some time to look at all the books, videos, records, etc. I would recommend going to this store if your a book lover.

Everyone is so helpful! The sheer volume of books from floor to (almost) ceiling can be overwhelming, yet the staff is great about helping you find what your looking for. Always a pleasant shopping experience.

Wonderbook is always awesome. Its so nice to just go browse lots and lots if used books.

Great selection of books, movies, records. They also have a decent selection of used comic books, Graphic novels and even some gaming. Social distancing is in place and masks are required. If you live in the area you can also rent movies and video games. They also have a small snack section (soda, candy cars, etc)

Had what I needed at a reasonable price. If you love old book smell, its the best!

Incredibly large selection of books both used and new. Ive been to a lot of bookstores but this is by far the best.

Lots of options and a very friendly staff, if you are looking for something hard to find or just a good deal, you could do worse than stop by and look around.

If I could give it more stars I would. Staff is helpful if you ask them for something, but they also leave you be. You are welcome to just wander here. Picked up some biology books, an Agatha Christie mystery, and a book on NASA. So many books, records, CDs etc. Gotta go!

I love these prices! I can almost always find the books Im looking for, and if not on that trip, then on the next one. It is always worth the drive down, and not only is it a fun indoor activity to scour the store for some good books, it also brings us to Fredrick for a tasty meal. Recommend using this a day trip, if you like books👍

Hard to rate the whole store since I just went in there to shop for vinyl.The good news from that experience: I was greeted at the door and the clerk was very friendly to other shoppers.They have a lot of different used merchandise, especially books, making it fun to browse I suppose.Bad news: Used vinyl is outrageously priced. Many items of any value were about $5-$7 over what they should be priced and the condition of many records were subpar.I dont think a coffee stained, beat up pressing of Yes 90125 should be priced $17...just sayin.If you want to sell used records, be more competitive.There are 2 other used record stores in town and they are awesome: Record Exchange and Rock And Roll Graveyard

This is the best store ever! They sell used blurays and dvds. They even sell used books, comics, and trading cards like pokemon and sports cards. This store and the one in Hagerstown have dvds and blurays that you can rent to take home with you and watch. They even sell used cds and records. They even have disc holders outside that sell individual dvds and cds, which you can buy. Its just like the old rental stores like Blockbuster and Hollywood video, except they sell dvds, blurays, and books you rarely see anymore. Hope everyone enjoys it.

Okay. Seriously. This place is amazing. Their employees are super nice and remarkably helpful. I was tracking down a comic series from the early 90s, all original issues instead of reprints, and they helped me get a great start. They even showed me how to benefit from their website, which has a simple design, but is completely amazing for if youre looking for something specific! 10/10 Totally recommend!

I have ordered online multiple times in my life and have never received such awful service as I have through Wonderbook. Recently I ordered and purchased a “Guitar Hero 3” video game from Wonderbooks ebay store. The game came quickly but was not as advertised. I payed over 100$ for a Game with a guitar controller but only received the game. Wonderbooks add shows a picture of a game NEXT to a guitar that you play the game with. When I tried contacting Wonderbooks store I kept getting transferred back and fourth between their 3 stores Eventually an employee gave me a number to a warehouse. I called the warehouse and was not able to contact a person just multiple recordings with dead ends. Nobody in their right mind would pay over 100$ for a game you can’t even play without the proper controller.I ordered the game for my nephew for Christmas10/10 Scumbags

What a great place... Okay, in full disclosure, I am a used book store nerd. The moment in walk into one, Im transformed! Im transported into a new world. But enough about me...Wonder Books is that kind of place: transformational! The people there are wonderful--pardon the pun--and so helpful. I went in looking for one thing and found so much more... But its always that way for me when it comes to books.This particular store is awesome because its laid out like a maze... A maze I like getting lost in--unlike those corn mazes...So come down to Frederick and visit... Sometimes I dont even buy anything...I just visit some of my favorite books.If you love books, youll never be disappointed in Wonder Books!

I am a huge fan of half price books; I have been to many of them when I travel to Texas. I like this place better. They have a huge diverse selection of books, plus they have a great online presence to find used books they dont have in the store. I love visiting here, and we always go home with an embarrasingly large number of books.

I love this place! Where great books and CDs go to be adopted! A browsers paradise, with a great selection of fiction and nonfiction, videos and so.much.music! I go once a month or so to scan the new music arrivals, and the frequent Buy Two Get One Free is helping me assemble my dream music collection!

I was looking for Neil Gaimon books as a gift. They had several and in good shape. Prices are much cheaper than Barnes and Noble. The employee was very helpful and courteous. My gift was a success and very much appreciated. I dont think there is anything you cant find in the store.

It has books. I could end my review right there and if you are a book fan youll just go. But it has so much more. If you are a fan, plan to spent hours. Movies, books, games, random stuff, toys, its a treasure hunt with signs. And the staff is great. I wont say they know where everything is, but they are friendly and helpful. Theyll never just tell you I dont know. Theyll figure it out and get you on your adventure with a smile.

I dont know why I go any where else to get books! They have EVERYTHING! OK, maybe not everything, but they come awfully close! Its a great place to spend an afternoon wandering through the stacks! They also have a hugh selection of movies and music! Highly recommended!

Manager is very socially awkward. Restocked my entire pile of books while I was around the corner (so I had to look for them again, only finding a few of the ones she made disappear. Rudely demanded that I fix my mask when it slipped slightly down my nose. Refused to price an unmarked book and walked away with not so much as a sorry or middle finger. Selection is not as food as the other outlets, except for a huge portion of the store that is locked in cabinets with no visible pricing. Probably will just check the other two outlets when I am in the area.

As used bookstores go you cant beat the selection at Wonder Book. With an almost overwhelming selection it can be a bit difficult to find something specific but you can lose yourself in the stacks for hours finding forgotten favorites and/or newly discovered classics. The atmosphere is a bit bare bones and it definitely doesnt have the romantic feel that some other used bookstores feature but if you just want to grab an old paperback this is the spot to do it.

Oh my goodness!!!! BEST PLACE EVER!!! I’m a book lover..an old book lover especially, so this place is so incredible as far as I’m concerned!!! I don’t get to go as often as I’d like to go, but it’s certainly a GEM and I can’t say enough wonderful things about it!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

Love this place. Have a big selection of movies and whole seasons of tv shows to rent. When in the mood to read, biggest selection of books Ive ever seen. Employees are very knowledgeable and helpful. They even have a program where you get a credit back on your account when u return movies early. Prices are great.
