Excellent pasture raised beef. The quality of the beef is top notch. Everything from steaks to roasts and briskets and jerky. Beautiful store front and interior, step out of the store and you see the beautiful pastures where the cows are raised.

Weve been buying meats from Hedgeapple Farm since they opened and have never been disappointed! Most recently was tonights slow smoke of a wopping 3lb Cowboy Steak pictured in the attachment. That thing must have come off one big cow! And boy, was it tender and tasty with a nice bottle of aged Tarara wine. Love Hedgeapple meats!!!!

Good afternoon. I am the lady from Tennessee which ordered by phone July 30th and my daughter brought my order to me. Let me say this that the chuck roast was so delicious and tender. As for the filets I can not say enough to the amazing tenderness and flavor. No knife ever needed. Hamburgers are great as well. Thank you again. Update- Oh my gracious. We just tried the brisket and good golly was it the most delicious and tender brisket we have ever had. My family was nibbling on it before it even reached the table! Had to add to my review because it was that good.I can’t say enough good things about this place. I have never had anything bad from there. Everything is always so good! The brisket burgers were hands down the best burgers we have ever had. The taste is superb. I highly recommend this place! Super friendly staff as well.

I am grateful to have found Hedgeapple Farms grass fed-beef. Two years ago, I was trying to find good grass-fed beef locally and found it to be substandard in flavor and texture to the point my wife was asking me to stop buying it. Now we get all our beef from Hedgeapple Farms with grass fed beef as good as the best grain fed grocery store products. We have had Delmonico steaks that we could cut with the edge of our forks, excellent New York steaks and Chuck Tender Roasts. Hedgeapple Farms has a 5-star rating from us for two years of consistently delivering excellent flavor and texture with their grass-fed angus meats. Health benefits have also been noticed with annual medical exams and doctor’s encouragement to continue eating grass-fed meat and dairy.

My family and I are beef obsessed and weve tried just about every butcher or local farm in NoVA. Hedgeapple is the champion. Better than McLean, Lothars, Red Apron, and many more. Their beef tastes amazing, their staff (Scott) are knowledgeable and helpful, they have exceptionally fair prices, unique cuts, and do great custom work. On top of all of this, they manage to remain incredibly environmentally-friendly towards the surrounding soil and watershed. This is the best beef you will find in the DMV area.

Randomly saw the shop and stopped here last weekend. Got some absolutely amazing tri tip. Smoked and seared. Whole fam raved about the flavor.

I stopped in there for the first time today and purchased a beautiful cut of meat. I am so excited to cook it. The service was excellent. The butcher was knowledgeable and extremely helpful. I know I will be back again!

Great Tender Sirloin.

This is our go-to place for our summer cookout meats. My family and I are not big meat-eaters, but during the summer months, when hosting backyard cookouts, I usually pick up their hamburgers (worth the $) and a steak or two. Since Im going through the work of having a party, I want to make sure that everything is really really good (and worth the calories) and know that anything I get a Hedgeapple is going to be great. (I also usually get help from them picking everything out - I tell them what other things Im having and they guide me to what would work/cook best).

My cowoker and I travel from Montgomery County once a month to buy all of our meat here. Scott and Carol are wonderful. It is less expensive than grass fed meat in the stores and you know exactly where your food is coming from. Its a beautiful farm to visit.

All the farmers and meat markets are understandably busy during these trying times. I’m not one to leave reviews typically but this experience warrants one. We called Hedgeapple to see what they carried since we have never been. The guy answering the phone was so short and rude. I simply asked if they carried pork and beef so we don’t waste the trip: we have kids and don’t have unlimited hours. He said no, and I go what do you carry since we haven’t been there? He responded yea I can tell and we only have beef. It was in a rude tone and snappy. There is no reason to act like that to your potential customers! Through all this, remember kindness. I recommend Wagner’s and Hemps if you are looking give business to a place that is deserving. Onto the next!In response to what was written below by the owner:- I did visit a couple websites but it’s hard to remember who carried what and no I didn’t write it down. I noted a few that appealed to me and called around to see what they had. Sorry if you have an issue with me calling and getting straight to the point to ask a simple question rather than researching. That’s on you-not me.-You sounds like an egotistical owner and I said to my husband well we won’t be setting foot in that place.-Every meat market has a line currently. We usually go to Wagners but with them having a line and it raining I called to scope out somewhere else.You clearly didn’t want to do your job in a kind way, so I have trouble believing your customer service is excellent. I read some of the reviews and they praised the beef, not your service which is equally if not more important to some people. Get off your High horse and maybe let the lady answer the phone next time. You would have been better off for it. Also, I’m about as far from a vegetarian as you will find. Again, onto the next!

Wonderful farm which provides many grass-feed beef selections in a modern freezer display. The store is an old log cabin which has been moved from its original location and recently restored. Beautiful setting. Friendly, helpful service. They always carry my purchase of 20-40 pounds of beef to my car and load it for me. Above and beyond, but wonderful when I have my toddlers with me.

Hedgeapple Farm has the best-tasting meat around AND its 100% grass-fed! Prices are totally reasonable for the quality, too. It is an amazing operation and they take pride in their business.

Stopped by the farm market on Friday MAY 3rd. I had the pleasure of meeting Scott. Thawed some of the hamburger I purchased, and let me tell you those 80/20 patties are something else! MMMMM GOOD. We will be stocking the freezer with Hedgeapple meat from now on.

I have been searching for a place like this forever. I will never buy meat anywhere else. Best tasting beef I have ever experienced and I have tried every Organic/Grass Fed place from all over the planet. The staff is unbelievably knowledgeable about their product. Only one word needed WOW!!!! I’m a chef who has cooked in many different countries in restaurants and cruise ships this by far is the best beef around, I don’t believe you could find anything close to it in maryland,Virginia and dc. areas, it reminds me of beef I cooked with in Japan. It totally made me think I was eating a good Kobe steak.

Best beef in Frederick County. This is the place to get all your beef. The burgers, ground beef and steak are the best I have tasted. Everything is pre-frozen, wrapped in perfect portion sizes and easy to buy. We always buy all our beef here. Try it, it is the best beef you will ever eat!

Very friendly staff. The preserve raises Black Angus. Grass fed and finished, no hormones, etc. If you make bone broth, they have knuckles and leg bones. The meat is packaged and frozen. A great assortment of cuts and sizes.
