Purchased a whole chicken here and the butcher was kind enough to take out the back (butterfly cut) at no additional charge. Made a lemon garlic roast on the skillet w wine sauce, and the chicken was so juicy tender fresh. Remarkable difference from the store. Ill be a returning customer, no doubt!*also curious about their ice cream sandwiches they have in their freezers. It’s a cool shop I hope they stay in business for years to come

We ordered a 60lb pig for our sons 19th birthday party last weekend at OTB, they did a fantastic job with the order! They had it ready to go, butterflied and wrapped when I got there. They were even kind enough to load it into the cooler for me. We will absolutely recommend them to others and use them for future events.

Went in the store for the first time to order a ribeye roast. Had some questions and placed the order. When I was asking questions, man behind the counter seemed annoyed that I had questions and referred me to a flyer and said, “If you want to know anything else you can read it on this.” Seemed put-out that I was asking question. Went back the next day to purchase some groceries that I saw they had the previous day. At the same time I was canceling my order because they only carry grass fed beef, at least at this time they did. I went to pay and the same man from the day before took care of me. I asked for a bag and was told, “You have to buy a bag, we don’t do plastic.” I asked, “So I have to buy a bag to carry my groceries out?” The associate goes, “Have a nice day” and walked away. Rude! I don’t know how retail expects to exist in this day and age when they treat people so rude. That was a first and last for me.

What a gem! And a fabulous find as we walked downtown! Fabulous organic grass fed milk (the heavy whipping cream reminds me of milk from the cow itself that I drank as a kid). Its awesome and DELICIOUS! We also bought pork also, cant wait! We will be headed this way often.

WOW! This place is exceptional! Game birds, local beef/pork. Hard to find beer, wine and....Did I say exceptional?BTW...Friendly; Plus knowledgeable butcher on premise. Deli to dine at downstairs, too! Just wish the deli served their wagyu beef hot dogs! Best kept secret in Olde Town Fredericksburg.

Excellent people and product. Went in today needing ground pepper and in a pinch. All they had for sale was whole black peppercorn. Gentleman behind the counter went to the kitchen and brought me a little baggie of black pepper from their stock. I live nearby, and will be coming back here for steaks and more as often as I can afford.

Yes its a little on the small side, so when busy a bit congested, but its a downtown local butcher shop so thats expected. The staff are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable and the prices are reasonable considering the quality of the meat youre buying. I like they also have a few fresh vegetables on hand from a local farmer so its possible to pick up a few items to make a decent meal.

Just enough punch to make you remember how good it really is.The Philly Steak and Cheese was awesome by itself. I could have had some other toppings on it, but it doesnt really need it.I would love if they added soup to their menu as well. The staff were friendly and helpful but rib-eye was a complete waste of $50. The meat was extremely chewy, not expected at $24 per lb. If youre a real steak fan only go for USDA graded meat (prime) or well reviewed meat. Local can mean over priced and chewy.

My husband and I stopped in for some bacon. Great big hearty slices and a huge selection. I highly recommend this shop. I recommend serving pemento grilled cheese sandwiches on rye bread. Also, some Walker&Sons spices. Its hard to find!

Ive heard of this place before and decided to check it out. As soon as my wife and I walked in, we were met with smiles from the staff.I dont know much about the place, but it is exactly what you would expect from a well established, hometown butcher that has been there for generations.All surfaces were very clean and well maintained.The selections of various meats and local products like sauces, rubs, craft beer, wines, and dairy products were amazing. And everything seemed very fairly priced compared to similar shops.Also, they are very eco friendly by cutting out plastic containers and encouraging reusable shopping bags.You guys are doing great and I will definitely be back!

Olde Towne Butcher has never disappointed me. They butcher clean local beef and pork on-site and sell standard and custom cuts of meat and make a variety of products like meatballs, pulled pork and an amazing variety of sausages. They also have a good selection of high quality mustard, hot sauces, beer, etc.

Best steak and cuts around and everyone that works there is super friendly. If your not sure what to get just ask them they will make sure you leave with something great.

Terrible first impression. The guy at the counter was super rude when I came in to see what was available. I asked if they had a sale paper (like a flyer) to plan a future dinner, to which he replied we dont have sales. Sorry if that was the incorrect term, I just wanted to keep something on hand for ordering. Problem solved.. I appreciate the lady for answering my questions after that but Ill find another shop.

I am a customer of this shop, until today I have had no issues with any workers or purchases. Today I went and asked for a 4lb chuck roast the man went in the back came back out and said I would have to take the two cut ones in the case which is not want I asked for . I dont understand why he couldnt explain why I had to take the ones in case if they had none in back couldnt he of said so ..

Anytime my husband and kids visit family in Fredericksburg V.a. before going to the beach in the summer, My sister inlaw and I stop by this awesome place for meats. Always fresh and load up on samples for the drive. Great customer service and some of the best quality meat&seafood. They give you plenty and load our kids up with samples. My home town has a butcher nothing like the one in Virginia. It maybe over priced but you cant put a number on quality, Sincerely, Hoosier girl

Went to the Butchers Table. Asked for my burger medium-rare. Got it well done. Had to send my order back twice to get the topping I asked for. When they brought it out, they set it on the table and walked away without making eye contact or saying anything. Girlfriends roast beef was good, but not much actual roast beef on it. Not worth $12.

The interior is a bit small but given that its in downtown thats not unusual. The meat selection is good and they also have a great selection of fresh pasta and farm-fresh local regular and chocolate milk. If you bring back the bottle for milk, you get a discount as they do not charge you for a new bottle.

Didnt expect the sandwich shop to be this good. Heard it was great and I want disappointed even with my hopes up. The high price of downtown, but with quality to match the price

This is the only place we come to for meat and poultry anymore. Selection is fantastic, locally sourced, well priced, and always cooks up delicious. If you havent done so, Id say come in just for the bacon!

Unhelpful sales person. I asked to taste the apple-wood smoked bacon and she said that they are not giving out free samples. My butcher shop is closing down and I taught I look for a new one. I guess you are not the one.

I always come for the milk and eggs. Great price for a fairly local and delicious dairy. The prices are fair for the product, meat counter is helpful and the staff friendly.Must try!

The old Towne butcher is a nice store to shop in it has very nice cuts of meat and salmon plus little odds in ends the staff was very friendly.

Pretty much the only place in town to get good quality meat. Knowledgeable staff helps to navigate decent selection of products.

For the longest time I craved a good hamburger. A GOOD one! The kind I remember eating as a kid, beefy deliciousness, crisp exterior, moist perfect interior. I thought no one knew how to cook them anymore. Turns our it wasnt the cook, it was the beef. I know because I bought the ground beef here, took it home and grilled it and immediately felt that I was in a sacred place. Then we tried the bacon. I almost cried, well not really, but really. I can no say enough about this place. The service is fantastic, they have a great selection and the meat (beef, chicken and pork...havent tried the seafood yet) is worth every dime and more. I am not longer satisfied by the castings of what they label as meat in the big box stores. It doesnt just pale in comparison, its in a whole other category. This is real food.I am spoiled forever, and I am ok with that... and so is the hubs, the true beef connoisseur. And if your lucky enough to be in the shop when they have the bacon cheeseburgers (YES they grind the bacon into the hamburger) then you are in for a life changing experience.

Went in at 930 on a Saturday for a pork shoulder. There was one sitting in the case. Was asked to come back at noon bc they were too busy to get me a smaller size. Food is delicious. But service is terrible.

Walked in no customers 3 staff... not one asked I needed help. After a few minutes I approached someone, no bones in stock for broth so she she went back to find out when they would be.... After waiting 5 min I left.
