This was a fun place! Walking into the store your instantly stepping into a 1950s carnival. There were over 20 flavors of ice cream and so many cookies, brownies, and other gooey treats to pick from. There’s a ice cream parlor in Cibolo Texas (Scoop at the Mill) serves their ice cream, but coming to original shop was a treat all its own. We are and our ice cream and grabbed some cookies to back home as gifts.

All time favorite! We go regularly to take the kiddos for a sweet treat. All of the ice cream is amazing. Sandwiches and salads are perfect options for lunch. The staff is always super friendly.

The ice cream is amazing the service however, is lackluster. Clearly it was my 1st time. The person that assisted me was nonchalant, did not make any suggestions, nor was he able to address my confusion at having expected one thing am receiving another. After charging $9 for an ice cream sandwich ( Smasher) he left it on the counter and walked away. No thank you for coming, come again, hope you like it or anything. I stood at the register waiting. Another employee had to come amd finish the sale. This is the first time in a long time that tip wasnt monetary. My tip is train the staff in customer service.

The food here is ALWAYS a hit. Weve gone here probably like 5 times and its always great. we love it. Definitely recommend

The Ice Cream, though pricey, was delicious. Two scoops in a cup was about $9. However, as a previous reviewer mentioned, the service falls short of what would other wise be a great experience. The process from beginning to end was a little hectic with workers tripping over each at a time when there wasn’t much traffic. They could definitely do a better job of interacting with the customers and helping them come to a decision especially in the absence of sampling, which they aren’t currently doing due to COVID19 protocol. The lady who told me that was borderline rude when telling me this. However, again, offered no further assistance in helping me make a choice or even offering feedback on the one I had asked to sample.Also, the setup of the store makes it hard to look at the vast selection without bumping into other customers especially those sitting at the table that’s right in front of the selection. Rearranging the tables would better allow customers to look over the selection while not getting in the way of others. It is very cramped in due to the amount of tables they have in there which is weird given their current stance on sampling which is influence by the current pandemic.Honestly, give it a shot. However, be warned that while the product delivers, the service falls way short of what should be expected from a place with such a fantastic product.

Its always a great place to visit theyre always showing the same movie over and over which is great for business but the girl at the counter was almost like a robot she needs to be a lot more friendly

Loved it! Although it was a bit more crowded than we like in these pandemic times, the service was immediate and friendly and we got a lot of ice cream for our dollars! They price it by weight and have some cool flavors and flavor combinations. I tried the lavender ice cream with a dab of chocolate. Delicious!

We were told you have to get off main street for the best dining but thats not true. We stopped in here for a coke then looked at the menu and read the reviews. Were glad we did. We both had sandwiches and they were excellent. My veggie was one of the best Ive had. Potato chips were great too. We will definitely be back next time were in the berg.

Had a lunchtime dessert fix with the family at Clear River and it was great. The options on what to get are vast and they are not limited to ice cream. Bakery goods and sandwiches are available also coffee if you prefer. Well priced but a bit cramped as it gets pretty packed. Helpful and friendly staff were a nice surprise even while busy.

I rarely have a sweet tooth, but reviews were high enough I decided to stop in while visiting Fredricksburg. I ordered the banana split since I saw all the fresh fruit they had on the ice cream line. I was not disappointed in the slightest. I did the Mexican vanilla ice cream and rocky road. They add chocolate syrup, caramel, pineapples and strawberries and it all just tasted sooooo gooood. Stop in and try it if you visit Fredricksburg!

Clear River is an awesome place!!! 5 stars are hardly enough. It doesnt matter if you are there for sandwiches, desserts ( their cookies are the best!), or their awesome ice cream...sherbert etc. You will not be disappointed. A wide selection of delicious ice cream and so many creative baked treats. I tried several different flavors, Rocky Road, Praline Cream and Strawberry Cheesecake and found them all to have fresh flavors and creamy textures.Mask requirements are being followed but I dont think the shop has done enough to maintain a 6ft distance between tables. However theres a lot of benches outside so I wont take off a star for that.

We loved this place. Wide selection of ice cream to chose from. We ordered the ooey goey butter cake (a little over done), gingerbread cookie and death by chocolate. Rolled out of there with a sugar high. Friendly staff. Sit upstairs for extra quiet. Coffee was good. They offer sandwiches and other lunch items as well.

The peach cobbler was very good. I added vanilla ice cream even better. Two deserts and one drink $25 maybe a little high. Not really large portions. Line can get long on the weekends. Place to go for a treat.

As we were about to leave Fredericksburg earlier this week, we wanted something sweet and found Clear River on our search.So many yummy choices. I really only had room for ice cream and decided on the Amaretto peach pecan. Love the combo! Not sure if they used Fredericksburg peaches but it was delish. My husband got the raspberry sherbet which came in a cute sturdy cup. I thought their chicken cookie looked cute so I bought that for a neighbor.A great stop! Need to stop by again to try more.

Great little vintage ice cream shop. They had so many other things, but I only had eyes for the ice cream.Lot of flavor options and friendly staff. I had a coffee chip flavor that was super yummy.The place itself is very narrow and on a busy street. Accessibility is not the best as with most places on Main Street FBG.Covid safe practices were recognized and all customers and staff wore masks.

I asked the girl behind the counter what her favorite baked good was. I wound up getting a sweet German pretzel with caramel ice cream. It was super yummy!

Awesome little creamery/deli on main street Fredericksburg. They make the Peach Ice Cream for & with Burgs Corner peaches in Stonewall. Burgs was already sold out this afternoon so they let us know about it. Worth the extra few miles to get there!

Very good creamy ice cream. I got a small scoop of amaretto peach and chocolate pecan. With a dollop of whip cream. Hubby got peach cobbler scoop of vanilla ice cream. 19.35. Very, very pricey. Peach cobbler he rated a 5 out of 10. I give the ice creams a 7.

Thought it was a bit overpriced for the quantity and quality of the food. The Muffaletta was good, but not nearly enough for a meal. Ice cream was nothing special. My wifes salad was just fair. Baked goods looked great, but I did not purchase any. Service was friendly and prompt. If you are going spend nearly $50 on lunch for two, there are better options in Fredericksburg. Not likely to return.

The ice cream was just like ice cream nothing special in my books. I got a dipped cone and my wife and kids got a scoop of ice cream each. When I went to pay for it it rang up to 28 dollars for that. I would definitely not go back in there again, I will save my money and go to Braums 2 or 3 times for what that cost.

Great homemade ice cream spot right on Main St. Ordered the Mexican vanilla and the sea salt caramel. Both tasted great and the rest of the food looked great as well! Went back and got the pecan pie with a scoop of vanilla the next day which was great too. Definitely found our ice cream spot in Fredericksburg!

Clear River is located right on Main Street with an old diner feel decor throughout the store from the booths to Grease playing on the television to the items on the menu. A family friendly place to stop in while you visit the shops up and down the street. There is plenty of seating with a downstairs and an upstairs. You can grab a meal besides dessert. The food is American style such as burgers, sandwiches, and salads. The staff was friendly and helpful and helped me pick which flavor of ice cream to choose.Baked goods for you to grab besides the ice cream or food. Multiple options available for ice creams and on the menu where you can grab floats and sundaes. The ice cream is great and is nice and smooth when you eat it. They charge by the weight for scoops of ice cream. Grab a treat from here when you visit!

Love this place! We had lunch (club sandwiches and turkey rubin) come w/chips & dill pickle. Picked up iced cookies & biscotti on the way out. Everything was delicious! Cute 50s look to the place.

Liked it so much we came back twice during our short visit!Fantastic ice cream with a huge selection of flavors to choose from. The staff were super sweet even with us coming 10min prior to closing. Absolute must for anyone visiting!

Great old fashion soda you fountain feel. Lots of tasty ice cream flavors. They also have hot or cold sandwiches, salads and soups, and sweets.

We stopped in to pick up a few sweets and they were great! We got peach ice cream, a brownie, and the ooey gooey cake and they were all amazing. Would recommend!

Me and my gf stopped here during our visit and they have authentic ice cream flavors I had the Mexican vanilla and I must say it was so good and smooth!! We will definitely return on our next visit!

Peach ice cream was okay. Was disappointed when I asked the young man at the counter if peach sherbet was all they had he told me that and peaches and cream. As Im checking out the lady beside me orders an amaretto, pecan and peach ice cream! I asked for a small to sample, he barely provided a scoop and it was awesome but I already had the peaches and cream. ☹

If you visit Fredericksburg Texas you must stop here for ice cream. Yummy!

Oh it was great. The ice cream was wonderful and the cookies were amazing. The people were friendly and honestly their sandwiches looked better than where we ate for lunch.

Best ice cream in Fredericksburg. They have other very good treats. However employees do not take customers in order. They get large groups of high school kids and regardless of where the kids are in line they get waited on first. As crowded as this store gets maybe a number system would work better and help alleviate the crowding at the door.

Everytime my family and I go to Fredericksburg, we have to stop and get ice cream here. I recommend getting a banana split. Its the best youll ever have, but so is everything else. Be prepared to spend a few dollars here because they have so many delicious choices. However, I assure you that its money well spent. Go and enjoy! Oh and dont be ashamed to go back up to the counter and get some of their baked goods, after youve finished your ice cream. I promise that nobody in this place will judge you for it, but they may be jealous.

Based solely on a recommendation by local legend and world record holder Tristen, we made our way here one day to try the cheesy chicken tortilla soup. It was exactly as described by Tristen and was very delicious. The only weird part was the upstairs seating area: all of the doors upstairs had no door knobs except one that had a golf ball as a knob. Popped backed downstairs on the way out for an ice cream cone. Superb!

20 some dlls for 3 ice creams, but I was told they were amazing. I did not try them myself.

I haven’t done any reviews on Fredericksburg restaurants, due to nothing being exceptional or terrible. A lot of restaurants here are overpriced and the quality of product can be lacking. That being said, Clear River is amazing! Excellent choice of flavors, extremely fair pricing and the ice cream is phenomenal. You can truly taste both the freshness and individual components of the ice cream here. The cherry vanilla and chocolate turtle ice cream were both flawless, we will be back again tomorrow!

The nostalgic 1950’s vibe is super swell!! We wanted a quick bite to eat so we stopped in to see what they were serving. I had the tortilla (chip) cheesy soup and my wife had a scrumptious kolache. Staff was courteous and friendly! We’ll be back soon. Thank y’all!

Busy deli, bakery, and ice cream shop in the center of a touristy Main St with continuous foot traffic out front. Started with Death by Chocolate Cake (eat dessert first), outstanding. Both the Reuben and turkey club served on rolls were hot and excellent, a pleasant surprise. Helpful counter staff. Highly recommended.

I love ice cream! All the flavors here were unique and delicious. I got the Amaretto, Peach & Pecan ice cream, and I can see why its award winning. The staff were friendly and helpful as well, and I appreciate them letting me taste samples! I only had their ice cream, but it seems like they serve soup and sandwiches too. Its an adorable shop with a cozy atmosphere. I would definitely come back to try other flavors!

There is nothing there I have tried that was bad. It is a great family friendly place. We took our family from out of town and they loved it. It was a great place to go to with the whole family. What a cute little shop! Takes you back in time a little bit. The ice cream is SO GOOD! A bit pricey, but the service was worth it. We had 7 kids in our group and they where so kind and patient with all of us! My new favorite ice cream is their red velvet cheesecake! Wow! So good! It is so busy on a nice warm day though. Stopped here for dessert, and I was very pleased with their offerings. Lots of flavors to choose from, both ice cream and sherbet. I got coconut and cherry vanilla ice cream. Both were delicious! A friend got cookie dough, and she enjoyed it! The atmosphere and decor was cute too.

So much to choose from of homemade sweets,spices,sauces and others. It was like going through a Hickory Farms in that one can sample the goods. You just got to check out because it was an amazing stop for us.

Everytime my husband and I visit Fredericksburg, we slways stop here for dessert. We always have the peach amaretto ice cream, is delicious!
