Id tried to go to the store but got out front and it stated via appt only. I dont have a problem with that, the problem I have is with their customer service. While I was out front of the store I called in hoping to either be allowed in or schedule a time to come in, but when the representative picked up the phone I explained my predicament and advised I saw on Google it said you were open but I did not see the appt only... well the rep cut me off and stated well its on the website in a snarky manner. Now I called with no malice or rude tone, but I found that remark rather unnecessary. I was just going to schedule a time to come in. But awe well, lowes and home depot have nice personnel who can assist me with my lighting needs.

This lighting store is much larger than it looks from the outside - it goes waaaaay back and they have so many actual lights on display, plus many catalogs. They people really know the lighting in depth and are wonderful to help you select the right light for your decor. A wonderful plus is the great array of ceiling fans with and without lights in every decor - I spent far more time in here than anywhere else in Caroline street and I’m going back. Great Christmas decorations too.

Great pricing and selection. Rich has a ton of knowledge and is very accommodating. We purchased a chandelier for my daughters nursery and its absolutely beautiful!! I highly recommend Commonwealth Lighting and I personally wont go anywhere else.

Great selection and pricing. Very knowledgeable/friendly staff. I want sure about the brightness of some LED bulbs and they let me bring them home to try and come back and pay later!

One of the friendliest people in the heart of downtown Fredericksburg, would be Rich! I moved into an apartment and wanted amber colored lights, the one I bought elsewhere were too dim so Rich ordered me the perfect amber lights for my living room. I still love them and recommend this light store to anyone looking for bulbs, light fixtures or lamps! Such a gorgeous showroom.

Rich helped us find some difficult to get bulbs for our existing ceiling fan. He is helpful, friendly and approachable. We just ordered some lights that we found on Houzz, and will buy them through him instead of some random online vendor. We love supporting local business!

So many different choices of lighting and very helpful staff. One of the sales assistants even carried our newly purchased light and carry it to our car parked in the next street.There are also many catalogs to look through and expert advice with regard to correct size of ceiling lights and chandeliers.I love that we were able to buy locally and support a business downtown Fredericksburg. To be honest, at first, I thought they would be priced so much higher than Lowes or Home Depot but they are priced competitively and have much more unique choices.

When only the best will do! Come see Brenda, Rich or Bill . We go wayyyyy_y back to the late 80.

Somewhat expensive but MANY cool and unique fixtures.

Had I ordered the bathroom lights on Amazon I would have saved myself a $70 restocking fee I was never informed about until the new items arrived. Due to poor customer service I have to give this place one star and will take my business elsewhere.
