Cotton Weeds has more than a nice selection of quilting and felting fabrics, patterns, and tools. They have wonderful, helpful staff, a long-arm service, and above all, they have the home-town Were from Maine persona of a privately owned, non-corporate, non-chain, value-based small business. They offer a variety of fun classes, building community and friendships with all who prize and appreciate the beauty and comfort of what needle and thread creates.One of my favorite go-to locations for long-arm service...you know...for those really large quilting projects that, on a domestic sewing machine, feel way too much like wrestling an alligator!These pics are of two they recently quilted for me.

The folks at this wonderful store were so kind and supportive, and had all the answers and a huge selection of quilters fabrics!My daughter and I popped in for a quick visit, since Im an avid sewer. I was particularly impressed with the classes going on for new quilters! I was able to locate most of the equipment Ill need for a quick hand stitching project, and was able to ask about more designer fabrics.This spot is DEFINITELY worth visiting, if youre a quilter.

Lori did an amazing job with teaching me how to sew on a sewing machine for the first time. Great with explaining details and very professional.

I spent three hours at Cotton Weeds one afternoon, choosing the fabrics for a quilt I designed based on a Fibonacci sequence. The staff could not have been more helpful or patient. The quilt took two years to make, and never would have come out had it not been for that first three hours!

A delightful shop with a fun and friendly shop owner. Store had lovely selection of batik fabrics, Christmas and Fall fabrics plus wool and patterns for the wool. Many samples of patterns on display to help you in selecting just the right project.

They carry basic Babylock machines and quilt on a top-of-the-line Handiquilter. This shop is just what down town Freeport needed!Not to mention their rendition of “We didn’t start the Fire” in quilting terms is fantastic.
