Didnt buy a car from them. Wished I had but waited to long to move on it. But dealing with them was great and if the right car comes on their lot again, I wont let it get away again. They answered every question promptly and were always available. Kick myself for missing out.

Carsmith was instrumental is helping me get a good deal on my wifes new car at another dealership, but the question was, do I trade in the old minivan or what. I called Carsmith and told them what the dealership was offering for it on the trade in.They said, if I wasnt in a hurry, they could do better than that offer, and if we were lucky, much better. I wasnt in a hurry, so I told Carsmith to take it and do their best on consignment.They cleaned it, took out the scratches and blemishes, and made it look fantastic. Then they put it up on their website and began to market it. A couple of weeks later, they had it sold! Carsmith cut me a check for more than 20% over the trade in offer!Heres the details: You have to compensate them to do the clean up on it and sell it. I mean, I handed them a dirty car with a number of scratches. They made it look like new, and that costs some money.But, I literally did no work, and got thousands of dollars more than I would have if I had just traded it in.Previously, I had sold a car through a lot/service in Berkeley. I had to pay to have it parked there, and then I had to negotiate the deal to sell it. This time, I let the professionals do it for me, and I think all parties were better off for it, including my pocketbook!
Overall Great Experience and Satisfied Customer.I had the pleasure of meeting Kevin the owner while visiting Car Smith Motors. Kevin is very professional, friendly, knowledgeable and customer focused.Kevin greeted me at the door while practicing safe distancing due to the COVID restrictions. Kevin and his staff did a great job of providing a safe and enjoyable environment. All of the staff were in PPE, the office provides hand sanitizer in multiple places and there was plenty of space to practice social distancing.I also was able to work with Arlin who was able to assist until my deal was completed. Kevin and Arlin are not your typical car sales guys as they have a great deal of integrity. They were both very transparent in what the dealership offers and how they work. This no nonsense attitude helped me to come in and visit, test drive a car and ultimately purchase my new vehicle within two days. They even allowed me to put down a deposit for a 24 hour hold and allowed me to complete my homework before purchasing. Even after my deal was complete, I had some questions and they constantly responded without hesitation. Most, if not all, car dealerships would not provide that type of service.If you are looking for a new vehicle, this place should be at the top of your list for consideration. When I visited, they had a nice fleet of Infiniti, BMW, and Lexus. Their cars are all in great condition, well maintained and very clean.

I found this place on Car Guru and was just shopping around online for a used car for a decent price. I get annoyed looking at used cars for sale by dealers that keep their prices high when they know that it isnt a great deal for anyone. Thanks to people like Dave/Kevin at Carsmith, their business model is keeping the pricing low. Their pricing structure I found was competitive and did not come with any BS. I inquired over email because I didnt want to waste my time, and they were fast with response. Other dealerships I emailed tried to waste my time by asking me to come by to look at the car before talking to them about pricing. Why would I go in if I cant get the price I want? I liked the pricing that Dave offered and the incentive that came with purchasing a car. Almost all of their cars were kept indoors, which I thought was a great way of keeping the car in pristine condition.MOST IMPORTANTLY, the entire experience was simple and hassle free. You wont feel that they have an advantage or something that theyre not telling you. There was very little selling or you didnt feel like you were being sold to. Dave was very personable took the time to chat with me about credit, advised on not putting too much money down so that I could keep some in the bank and do something useful with it. He shopped around for a good rate for financing the car and was able to get me a cheaper rate than what some of the bigger banks offered based on my credit (which was good).From contacting them to the sale, the experience was pleasant. Dave seemed to be understanding, experienced and friendly. I think dealerships should really model their selling tactics the way Carsmith does business.

I bought Infiniti G37S convertible back in November 2014. I contacted Kevin Smith (owner of Carsmith Motors) to discuss the price and availability. Kevin is a very honest salesperson and only gives you facts. He is willing to answer customers call even after months of purchase and he is my go-to person for suggestions. I would buy a car from Carsmith even if I have to pay a couple of hundred dollars more because they are honest, trustworthy and they have been in business for a LONG time, so they know what they are selling. Great place, great people and I am a very satisfied customer so far!
We recently purchased a minivan here and the experience was easy and price reasonable. Arlin was very professional completing the sale as was Jeff who connected us via phone. They offered us the same as CARMAX did for the trade making it even easier to go with them. Their shop was clean as were all the vehicles there for sale. They had a nice selection of Infiniti, Lexus and BMWs as well. Id recommend them to others for sure. It was worth the 2 hour drive to get there. Thumbs up!

Here’s our experience. We saw a car we liked on their lot via AutoTrader. I called and called but could never get a person on the phone. So I text to make an appointment. I get a response! So we’re set to see the car on a Saturday afternoon. We show up and nobody greets us. We just wander into their warehouse of cars. We meet a salesman and I’m told that the car we came to see is sold! Someone had put a deposit on it Friday night. They couldn’t pick up the phone to call or text us that!?! We drove 2 hours to be here. Very unprofessional. They don’t have CarFax reports for their cars either. Do you really want to give your money to people that can’t even answer the phone? Or a “dealer” that doesn’t even have CarFax reports for their cars? I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.
After two cars Im still a fan. Jeff is my guy there. Its nice to know there are honest guys in the used car biz.
I bought an Infiniti FX and had a great experience doing so. I dealt with Kevin Smith and there was no pressure on anything. The transaction was quick and painless and they took care of everything. They are pretty much just like a normal dealer without the dealer sales tactics. Would definitely recommend them.
I would never recommend this place. I bought a car for my son and it had major issues a week later. I called the sales manager and all he had to say is for me to take it to someone that he knew so that I can get a discount on the parts and repair. Awful place to buy an automobile.

Ive been meaning to write a review for a while now. Ive had these guys on my radar since 2008, unfortunately I ended up buying my 08 g37 from the dealer. Last year in November we needed a second car, I was browsing and I saw a 08 Acura TL Type S with about 112,000 miles on the website. I would never buy any car with over 100k miles on it unless its coming from these guys and after buying two brand new cars from dealers and being unhappy. My Acura TL is the first car I am 100% happy with, I absolutely love the feeling of not having to worry about the intrigrity of the car or your dealer and knowing your getting amazing value. These guys are the real deal, I have put a little over 3000 miles on my TL, just took it in for my first oil change at the dealer and if cars could get graded mechanically my TL would have an A+. It was In great shape, these guys care about what cars they sell and care about the customers they sell cars to. I am a lifer, I felt like a VIP and I never thought buying a car could be so easy and for me to be able to have complete peace of mind. Thanks to all the crew at Carsmith Motors, again I absolutely love the TL and I really feel like there was tons of value there. Ill see you guys on my next car purchase.

I was searching for cars quite a long time and i came across carsmith motors, I got a Used car from Carsmith it was pretty awesome .. Got a good Deal and Kevin gave me a good service.. Worth for money.
This place isnt your average car dealer. Theyre not going to call you begging you to come in and look at cars. Theyre not going to send you generic emails and ignore what youre really looking for. This dealer prides itself on being upfront and honest. They know the car trade. They like cars. They know what they will want for a car. In fact, the guy who showed me the cars was Eric, the lead technician. He wasnt trying to make a sale. He was honest and showed me all the records they had available.I would describe dealing with them like this. These guys are your Dads car show acquaintances. They know their stuff about cars. They know your Dad, maybe threw back a beer or two with him, but they dont really owe him any favors. Your Dad tells them that his kid needs a car and he says ok, send him over.You show up at the shop. There are tons of cars. Maybe you already have one in mind. You decide you want to buy it. Now this friend of your Dads isnt his bff. He doesnt have to sell you one of his cars, but hes not going to be a jerk and try to take advantage of you. He knows how much he wants for the car. You know how much you want. If youre not within his range, no car.Sure you can try tactics like walking out of the dealership, or whatever, but that wont work with these guys. So you either buy from them with a little bargaining room, but unless youre negotiator level expert, dont expect be be discounted thousands below their asking price.So you figure out a price with your Dads buddy. Or maybe you have to talk to a few people at the dealership here, like the owner, for a broader range discount. Heck, they might let you walk over $500. Again, not your average dealership here. Eventually, you figure out that price youre both happy with and thats that.Now this dealership goes the extra mile too. I didnt like the impression in the seats left from the previous owner. They ripped it out and put new seats in BEFORE I put down a deposit. After the deposit I found about 30 things else that needed attention. The dealership addressed all of the concerns that they could and didnt give me crap about sending them a super long list. Instead, they were nice and thorough.There was another problem with the car we identified after we took it home. It was an unusual issue not easily caught at first. These guys said they would fix it if the warranty didnt cover it. How nice is that? You even sign something when you leave the dealership saying you take it as is. yet, theyre still willing to help out post-purchase.So heres a review of the people I worked with.Eric - Dedicated, helpful, honest, will make your future car look wonderfulJeff - Business-like, direct, knowledgable, hard to crack a smile, doesnt waste timeKevin - The owner, super nice, willing to work with you and excels in customer serviceDave - Helpful, answered my questions via email and it sounded more like a coworker was responding to you than a salesman. He actually reads what you write which is more than what I could say for other places.So yeah, Id come here again. They get five star yelps for a reason. Unlike a burger place downtown where drunk people flock to claiming that burger is the best ever because theyre wasted, this place deserves the rating it has.And just like your Dads bud helping you out, you guys will grow on each other.
I would never go back to even look at purchasing a vehicle from this place. They are unclear about the value of their vehicles and clearly don’t do the same amount of reasearch potential customers have the ability to do.
