Promised my son that Id take him fishing on a boat one day and ever since then, hes been dreaming about getting on a boat, fishing and maybe even driving for a moment. All that came true today with the help of Dive Spot and Captain TomHe provide most of the equipment and off we went. Tom was amazingly patient, helpful and took the time to explain where were heading to and helped get us going. My son got to wear a captains hat and take the controls for a bit.We caught 7 rockfish to take home and probably more than double that to catch and release due to size. It was such a great experience and looking forward to going back out again soon. Hands down the best diving shop in the East bay. From open water to advanced certification and now working on rescue diving and deep diving all with Tom. Hes extremely professional with over 20 years of experience and hes also very friendly and personable.Im glad I chose this place for two main reasons. One being that I get to have someone like Tom as the instructor and two is that I didnt and wont ever have to dive with a crowd of students. Aside from just going through the curriculum, Tom actually cares about turning people into confident (not cocky) divers. Looking forward to becoming a dive master some day through learning from him

So I talked to Andrew today and he was very knowledgeable and helped with many different things with several customers that were here. I enjoy the store and the setup they had. It seems like they have everything you need here and many different choices. They also work on tanks and regulators and other equipment. They hold classes here and they even have organized Dives on the weekends. Great location

Only and the best dive shop operated by Korean owner. You can immediately become a diver with Mr. Tahk who has 20 years of skills and experiences under water.

Tom and Andrew are very nice and knowledgeable. Most importantly they are humble and honest. I bought all my dive gear there, I highly recommend them for buying dive gear and for going on fun dives in Monterey

My brother and I had so much fun diving with Dive Spot. Tom was super friendly and took care to give us a great adventure. He helped us spot some fish for spear fishing and brought cooler/stringer. I forgot my right glove and he loaned me his (I was super forgetful packing for this trip as I had made this last min... whoops). When I got seasick, he offered to move to more calm waters, which helped tremendously. He even helped us load our gear into my car. Every chance he got, Tom went above and beyond. He did an awesome job anticipating our needs and delivered great service. It was a pleasure diving with Dive Spot and I highly recommend for those who dive or fish.

We had an amazing experience going diving with Tom! The most memorable part was when we ate some fresh seaweed and it tasted extraordinary. Would HIGHLY recommend.

I live in Monterey and Dive Spot in Fremont is THE dive shop. I’m more than happy to drive a little extra to learn and give business to such amazing guys! I’m new to this wonderful world of diving but am taking Open Water Course and did the Discovery Scuba class with Tom and Andrew. Tom has 20+ years experience, is very very patient, knowledgeable, and makes sure you understand and are comfortable. Andrew has gone out of his way numerous times to help me out with equipment, suggestions, and is happy to answer any question that has come up. He knows his stuff! Both of these guys are so professional, trustworthy and they even have a great sense of humor. I visited and chatted with Monterey shops and just wasn’t feeling it. Not to mention the price difference!! I am so happy to be working with Dive Spot and will be a supporter as long as they’re in business! Thanks, guys!

I completed PADI open water certification here and my 10 year old son also completed Jr. Open Water certification with me. Instructor Tom has been very helpful while taking a course with his 20+ years of experiences. He is always smiling and fun so my son and I were able to complete the course without any issues and we really enjoyed the diving with him. Six months ago, I wanted a new adventure in my life and so on a whim I decoded to learn to scuba dive. I discovered Tom’s shop right by the Tesla factory - so convenient! I thought this would be intimidating but I was determined. Lucky for me I found a great instructor who really has patience and expertise.Now after several diving adventures with Tom, I am excited to have this new found passion and grateful for Tom. He has not been a great instructor; he has also taught me about all different kinds of equipment and through him I’ve made new friends in the diving world.Tom’s shop is well stocked with the best supplies and gear, reasonably priced and if I ever need to order something, I feel like I’m getting the best personal shopping experience every time. If someone would have told me six months ago I would be using a spear gun underwater, I would have said no way! But thanks to Tom I feel pretty confident about it and it’s fun!Thanks Tom!

I knew nothing about scuba and very happy to find and visit Dive Spot in the neighborhood. Tom patiently explained what it would take (time and $$) to be a diver, and two days later i decided to take PADI open water course with Tom and bought all basic gear at the shop. Tom is a great teacher who works closely with students to make sure he/she get familiar with equipment and learn/practice all necessary skills in the pool and open water at Monterey. I highly recommend Tom and the shop. Thanks Tom

I’m still in school, and the teachers are bad, but Tom is one of the best teachers I’ve had. He’s very enthusiastic and can be a jokester but he is also very serious about education as well. I’ve learned a lot about scuba diving, and I’m happy to have Tom as my teacher. If you are looking for a Korean teacher who isn’t strict you have Tom. Today, we went to ocean and he was very cautious but also playful at the same time, and he is always there to watching just incase anything bad happens, because he has our back. He let both Ryan and I drive the boat, and it was a great experience. I recommend having Tom as a scuba diving instructor because he’s the best one out there. Thank you Tom.
