The employees are great, but there are rarely enough of them. I usually experience long lines, but I know that they are having trouble with hiring. Such is Pandemic life.

It’s a good store. But the prices are higher compared to other grocery stores.I ordered cake for my son’s birthday 4th of JulyThey didn’t make my cake by that date. I was so disappointed ☹️, then a lady who said she’s manager gave me a free cake for inconvenience. I appreciate that.

This place is clean and usually well stocked but there are not enough cashiers working at any time. Check-out lines are long and the cashiers are slow moving. The last time I went shopping here there were no cashiers working, it was 6pm on a busy Friday! Only the self-checkouts were open and with a long line of customers going past the Deli.The only thing efficient about this Safeway is their Pharmacy.

I love the store. but, I bought peeled pomegranate in a cup for 5 dollars. I know its a high price for a small serving but, I didnt mind the price but when I opened it, it smelled like nail polish but I tried it and it tasted like nail polish. And I was not satisfied like a big company selling bad stuff like WHAT!

For a Safeway thats in Fremont, they dont stock up on much. I had bought a salad that was actually frozen including the hard boil egg in the package. Quality isnt up to most Safeway standards.

Veey clean and feels safe. Interesting selection of things I dont normally see in the produce area, and cute decorations ready for Xmas.

One of the cleanest, neatest Safeway stores in Fremont! The deli is awesome for a quick lunch. The sandwiches here are the best! If you have a Safeway Club Card you get great discounts on everything including the deli! The bakery has the best breads of anywhere around and its (almost) always fresh and soft and delicious! Would be 5 stars for this particular location but that amazing bread wasnt so fresh my last 2 trips (which is very odd). Also, theres a somewhat aggressive panhandler that often stands out by the entrance that likes to exchange words if you dont pony up any cash. Otherwise, the place is awesome! Everything is always fully stocked. Service is quick and friendly. Help is readily available even at the Self Checkout lanes. Even the florists like (and are really good) at doing their job!

The most disgusting Safeway store or otherwise Ive ever see my whole life. The restroom is filthy, no wipes for carts, the service people ignore customers who try to ask them for something. Dont go here.

I love going to SW but the San Leandro store needs lots of help. I visited one in Fremont near Tesla yesterday and it felt like totally different from the one on Bancroft Ave in San Leandro. It was like being in the White House in Fremont and jail in San Leandro. A stranger in front of me in line even paid for my sandwich out of the blue. Stores in lessor affluent areas should be nice too.

I ordered a birthday cake and the following morning I was told they could not fill the cake I ordered. They had my phone number but did not call to inform me. The bakery worker was not willing to offer any substitution. I had to insist. The cake I took home was the driest tres leches cake. It was awful. I have always purchased cakes from Safeway and they have always been great. We just moved to this area. I will not purchase from the bakery in the future. Really disappointed customer.

Safeway was the only business in the surrounding public places that had a public bathroom, place was clean and not busy. Wouldnt have stopped here but it was the only place with the bathroom so I rewarded that by shopping there and buying a bunch of junk food that I didnt need

5 dollar Friday should have items described in the paper. Had to wait for over 1/2 hr so they could cook ribs. Come on, get with it!

By far the slowest Safeway I have ever been too. They are never staffed enough to handle the customers at check out.I see people leaving their items because the lines are so long.

The first time we went thru sold us expired meat. The 2nd time they sold us a broken food thermometer. The 3rd time we went, a lady hit our car while my boyfriend was inside getting buns.

People all very unhappy. All stressed out. No help. Long kines

The staff are have pleasant attitudes and are accommodating, willing to search for some obscure item to help a customer. The management is also friendly too, this store is definitely run properly.The only negative aspect may be that the average price is much higher than larger store chains. This may be due to them selling higher quality products though.

First time visiting this location. A very beautiful store, the parking area was clean, the store was clean and organised. It was such a lovely store, that I got side tracked by its ambience. The staff was friendly, helpful and professional; Efficient at the checkstand while keeping it light. Fabulous experience. 👏🏾👍🏾

They only run 1 cashier. They expect everyone to use the self check out.

Cashiers were friendly and helpful. Promptly attempted to contact the store manager to assist with a purchase. Manager was curt and unhelpful, with a brusque attitude. Store is clean and well maintained (it’s a Safeway!) but goods are significantly overpriced. Will not return here again if I can help it.

Worst Safeway I have ever been in. I cant believe how rude the cashier was. Ill never forget this horrible experience and lack of service.They dont want your business, likely due to their being severely understaffed and short tempered. They had two cashiers open during prime shopping hours, 6pm, and the lines were 6 and 7 carts long with no relief.Much better options elsewhere.

Each time I go to Safeway on Mission blvd. I love how close it is to my home but hate that each time I go to get meat, the butcher gives so much attitude and does not want to do his Job. I need to ask him multiple times to finally have my meat cut sometimes he’ll just say flat out “No”. We have decided to never return to this Safeway due to the terrible service from the meat Dept.

Frustrated. No cashiers were open except the one in liquor area. Had to use self checkout, the plastic bags there I couldnt get open plus no bags in the produce area, so I had lots of loose veggies to weigh, during these times could not bring in my own bags. Had multiple exceptions that required a staff member. I know they are likely understaffed. Still left me frustrated. I was told it would be 7 minutes before a cashier would be available.

Organic or not, it has everything you need to cook up a good meal. Food produce seems to be in the middle between Sprout and Whole food, in terms of freshness and price. Not bad.Supermarkets are a thin margin, highly competitive industry.

Self checkout is a joke. Everyone needs help because of the inadequate system. Lines long because there was no person to help out. System beeps like it read the UPC but not adding item up so u have to redo and rescan. Poor feedback. As I told the person working there thats why I hate Safeway. Prices are very high for fruit and vegetables.

About 1000% better than my last visit. The location is very convenient for me, but the wait times were horrible. Today was much better, and it looks like theyre actively recruiting for sorely needed additional help. Ill be back.

Im very hurt and saddened by today experience with the manager (Rodriquez) at Safeway in Franciscan Center . Im a regular customer of this Safeway cause its my neighborhood supermarket. I never had any issue or problem with this location except today. I purchased many items including the sale on Haagen-Daz ice cream bar; the advertised price for this was $2.78 as Just for U item. When I went through the self-check out counter, it registered as $3.50 so I asked the staff (Rodriquez) why its different. His answer was I dont know and I asked if he can adjust the price. He answered no without any further explanation. At this point, I asked for refund and he said he cannot do it at the self-check and that I need to go to the customer service counter. I went there and waited for at least 5-10 min and no one came. I went back to the self-check counter and request to speak to the manager. That same staff (Rodriquez) finally told me he is the manager, then I ask if he can help me at the customer service counter. He answered no and said he cannot leave the self-check out counter. At this point, Im beyond frustration. As I walk out, he yell out have a nice day. I believe that was a sarcastic remark. Im a 60+ y.o Asian woman and Rodriquez just brush me off cause of my ethnicity. If I was a white woman/man, this whole incidence would ended verydifferently. I truly believed Rodriguez would handle this in a different manner if the customer is white woman/man. This is no longer a money issue but rather a discrimination issue. To many Asian out there who had been discriminated due to COVID-19, I feel your pain. We cannot stay silence; please share your experience so we can be heard. I apologized for this long post and I will continue to share my experience to as many people/social media sites as I can.To Safeway Officers--do you know your managers?

They need to have a lot of cash counters open. The queue gets a little too long at times and I have never seen more than two cash counters open nor do they have a self check out section.

They had what I needed, items I havent been able to find. Glad Safeway is close enough to my house.

Since you have been hiring younger store managers. It has become a store with I dont care about the customer. Your customer service is at a all time low. Your managers need better people skills. They need to learn how to take care of there customers. Been shopping at this same store since it opened. Now I dont know if I coming back.

Disappointed that Safeway employees do not follow Covid19 guidelines properly. Ive seen numerous checkers have thier masks around thier necks. I witnessed one such checker cough into his hands and continue checking groceries without sanitizing or washing his hands.I dont feel safe shopping there any more. These obervations have been over numerous trips and, despite complaining to a manager, nothing improves.

Another good Safeway store

The only concern is that when i went shopping there only one cashier at cosmetics pharmasy. I didnt like that there was a 6 feet social distance. Other pleople that wete getting to pay at only cashier open and people were walking to close to us waiting in line. Not enough space other than that a like to shop ther.

This Safeway now makes you feel like a degenerate when you need to buy batteries. Theyre locked in a case, and walked to the register where you cant touch them until after youve bought them.Furthermore, the lines are ridiculously long, as there are no self checkout stations and the store employs only two cashiers per shift, no matter how busy the store is.Why are there so many checkout lines?

After 6 years of avoiding this place I can say its improved somewhat! The food containers in the (now non-existent) buffet style carts were actually clean looking, and I can now buy food here without it being expired!... Mostly... My old review was One star but this place has improved since then

Dont trust their holiday meal offerings. They randomly cancelled our Christmas dinner order over a week after they confirmed it.
