Phil Carter, the owner of Watts Up Electronics, presented a quote of approximately $20,000 with a 6 month timeframe to renovate our 1976 Argosy Airstream in January of 2019. Two and a half years later, at a cost of $23,000 and only 60% completed, the project was pulled from his shop. Initially he agreed to provide invoices showing time, labor and costs for the project as we continued to give him money. In all this time we received only one invoice, on Watts Up letterhead, showing work that we had been charged for but was never done. He stated that he was a licensed contactor. I recently discovered that this was not true. Not only does he not have a contractors license but he does not have a business license either. All of this expired in 2016. The man had a great presentation and an excellent story but he also comes with a multitude of excuses for not getting the job done or providing invoices. Hes quick to point out the Covid pandemic for his delays but forgets that the Covid restrictions began in Fabruary of 2020 and he was supposed to be done in 2019. In my opinion he is nothing more than a con-artist, a scammer building a pyramid scheme to find more money to complete other projects. I couldnt tell you where ours went, but when the pandemic did hit, I believe his house of cards collapsed. If you have work with him-pull it out immediately. If youre planning on dealing with him-DONT.

Phil has been a reliable source for me for many years. His attention to detail and follow through are hallmarks of his integrity.

Although I had heard criticism of Watts Up Electronics and its owner, Phil Carter, I want against my better judgement and rented a RV from him. Not only was it delivered dirty and damaged, but upon return, although it was cleaner than I got it, he made up a bunch of phony charges and wouldnt return my security deposit.I highly recommend that you do not do business with this company or the owner because my experience Phil Carter conducts fraudulent and unethical business practices.I would give him negative stars, if I could.
