I love this location! They have the best staff, and the best clothes. This is honestly the only location I go to and even though it is a tad bit far from where I live, I don’t mind the drive because I know I leave satisfied everytime!

I brought in a lot of clothes for evaluation. Few were chosen to compensate for, but I understood the reasoning. I thought the hanging merchandise would be a little more upscale, but was disappointed. The nicer things were really priced high, for them to be resale. When I left here, I went to Grace Bridge where I find the clothing MUCH nicer and VERY moderately priced.

Just had a very disappointing experience at Uptown Cheapskate. After calling their store to confirm that they were indeed buying clothes, I drove 30 minutes to get to them with what I was hoping to sell. Upon arrival I saw this sign outside, which I thought must be a mistake because I had just spoken to someone! A woman named Sidney greeted me when I entered the store and very rudely dismissed me when I told her I was there to sell. She let me know that I must have called the wrong location. I showed her my phone history, which showed I did in fact call the right location. She scoffed and unapologetically told me I was looking at a 45 minute wait. Terrible customer service.

Do NOT come here if you’re trying to sell clothes. I came to sell so many brand new clothes such as; misguided, pretty little thing, forever 21, Nike, etc. and they give me $20…. Huh?? Great condition too. Make it make sense.

Uptown Cheapskate is my favorite store to go shopping at! I was finally able to find shorts that were long enough for my teen and that fit in the waist. I was also able to find pants for myself. High quality clothes at great prices!

I went in to sell my clothes and was told they could only accept 7 of my items. i was not given an explanation as to why the rest could not be taken, and after going through my bag of the left overs, my nike shoes (worn once and the latest style of that shoe) was not taken, along with a dress that i literally purchased from this location a month ago that had not been worn once by me. a couple of other things included a dress that was in absolute perfect condition from lulus, along with another dress in perfect condition from francesca’s. after seeing what they sell in stores, there is no excuse as to why most of my items were not taken. i 100% understand that 3 of my items did have small stains so i don’t mind those not being taken at all. absolutely ridiculous.

If you are a thicker size, they do a great job curating clothing for women with mid-sized or fuller figures. I greatly appreciate that about this store. The staff is really nice too and everything seems well organized.

Was told my clothes would take 25-35 mins to finish, which is no problem so I looked around the clothes and wasted time. 30 mins passed & I saw my clothes on the counter, looked through and has a receipt on top (indicating they’re ready) i went up and asked for an update on my clothes and the girl pointed at her co worker and said “she just has to ring them into the computer it’ll be another 15 mins” while her co worker is just sitting there laughing and talking and using her phone. Unprofessional. Not Happy with that at all! Most girls here always have an attitude.

UNPROFESSIONAL SERVICE!! I came here today for the first time and my experience was not good. I tried to sell my clothing and first the lady at the front told me to not bring hangers and to bring them in a tote next time. Which is really not a good way to talk to a customer. When the buyer called me back to the counter after waiting for her to inspect everything she told me that nothing could be purchased because of the style and that it was out of season so I got nothing for anything. I mean the merchandise they sell there look like garbage anyway. My items were designer brands and not cheap. The younger employee with glasses laughed when I asked the other employee if I can have my hangers back since they complained about me bringing them in. That is unprofessional. I might as well went to donate to a Good will store. At least they are friendlier.

Worst experience ever. Staff is rude and not very friendly. Not enough staff taking care of customers! Exited longer than 20 minutes with one cashier and several people in line and the other ladies just texting on their phones

Said couldn’t accept your items because of tears in the clothes and said have a good one right away turns out it wasn’t 1 tear or hole in any of the clothes she made a big lie for us to leave it was the small shirt girl with brown curly hair she’s rude and doesn’t do her job how she should. This place is sorry and can’t do there job right

Love this place! High quality, used clothes in excellent condition at roughly twenty percent of retail. I come back about once a month just to see what is new on the racks. As with most resale shops, there is more selection in the womens section. The quality of the clothes keeps me coming back. Highly recommend.

This UC location has a much better and wider selection of womens shoes, especially in larger sizes. The staff were also more welcoming and friendly than Im used to. Will be back soon!

If i can give this place a zero, I would! First off, you walk into a bunch of teenagers who work there that don’t greet you, but will give you dirty looks in their little group gossiping. I had an incident that happened on their behalf and I spoke with the “manager” Sidney and she has the absolute worst customer service and I don’t see how someone with such a lack of respect, is put as a manager. She by no means made it better. It got forwarded to the owner - whom i still haven’t heard from, so it makes sense why the workers there don’t have knowledge in customer service. I highly recommend the allen uptown cheapskate location! This frisco location and their employees will not be a help whatsoever unless it’s time to check out.

Its a good way of selling clothes and there is a trade-in credit! I dont like that I could come in with a box of clothes and only a few items get accepted, but weeks pass by and I try again with the same items and then those get taken... there doesnt seem to be a guideline maybe?

My daughters love this place. Its clean and organized for a 2nd hand store. Pants are by sizes as well as tops. Shoes are gently worn. Has purses, belts and wallets too

One of the more upscale resale shops - big selection for girls, smaller selection for guys - theyre pretty picky with what theyll buy from you.. I took in a huge box of older make brand stuff that didnt make the cut, so Id keep to things no more than a few seasons old as far as trying to sell to them goes - staff is friendly and helpful!

They pay pretty good for the clothes that they accept. Only reason Im not giving 5 stars is because of how picky they are. I took a bunch of Levis jeans that I never even wore before. They were a little wrinkled due to sitting in the back of my closet but were in otherwise brand new condition... they turned them down because of the wrinkles...lol

I DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!!ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE TRYING TO SELL CLOTHES TO THEM.In the past I have always donated my clothes to charitys or Good Will. But I soon found many clothes in my closet still with the tags on. So I was looking somewhere to sell my never worn clothing and get a decent amount of money back for it. I searched online and read reviews of this store and heard all good things. I read they give you a good amount of money back on the clothing, which was exactly what I was looking for. So of course I was excited and drove to the Frisco Location ready to sell my bag of in style clothes.I had several name brand clothes in the bag like Forever 21, Buckle, Rue 21, American Eagle, & Nike - and this is just to name a few. After I waited 45 minutes for them to go through my bag and decide what they wanted to buy from me, they offered me $20 total. Taking 7 items from me one being a $70 Buckle workout jacket, and another being a $45 shirt from American Eagle.I am highly disappointed and beyond frustrated with everything that went on. Personally, I believe I deserved more than freaking $20 for 7 quality name brand items.

The workers are always so sweet and they are almost always getting new clothes from customers, so you can always find new things!!

Love this place. The stuff are pretty new and the prices are reasonable. Make sure you give them your number and you will get points to shopping there. Once you accumulate to certain points, you will get a good discount.

Overall okay clothes and a decent selection of shoes. Prices are crazy either being almost full value or even at times worth more then that of a retail store. If you want better selections at better prices Id recommend a Platos Closet.

If you want to sell clothes, you have a better chance on Facebook. They only want brand name even though looking through the racks, there is walmart and target brands... Im pretty sure those arent brand name.

Occassionally you can make some money selling to them, but most of the time what they offer is a joke. I brought a huge bag of barely used items and several things new with tags (good quality brands), I had 2 brand new pairs of shoes, Addidas and Charles David, and they offer $12? Kind of a joke.

At this location it seemed nice and it had a variety of clothes. They did have some things that were 75% off 50% off and 25% off. They usually always have a sale going on whenever Ive been here. The only thing I will say that its kind of a negative about this store is it seems kind of overpriced for the item that youre getting. They are name brand things but like for example a dress from Target looks to be a couple years old and a little faded and its $10.

Super clean, awesome music, way nicer/fancier/better custome service than Platos Closet. I dont consider this a thrift shop, but more a gently used/second hand clothing store. Literally every article of clothing I have ever bought from here I have gotten compliments on. They also have great sales, not to mention their designer jean selection with prices that are a fraction of what they would be new in the malls. Love love love Uptown Cheapskate. By far my favorite place to shop :)

Brought some clothes in to be priced. Was told half an hour. I told them I was going to go next store. Over an hour later I walked to the counter to ask how much longer. They just the bag to the side. No apology for not calling or anything. Last time I go in!

When I called that said they had their clearance sale going on already. When I was ready to check out they said it didnt start until the next day. And he didnt offer to accommodate me. I still purchased though bc their stuff is cute.

The selection of second hand clothing is exceedingly good. In style, clean, great condition, and the store is VERY organised. The only drawback is they are also very picky when it comes to taking clothes in. I had 3 large bags of clothes, in pretty good condition, and they only took 3 items.When they do buy items from you, You get 1/3 of what they will sell it for, which is 1/3 of the market price. Not bad for cash up front for second hand clothing.

New favorite place to shop!

I come here about once a week on my lunch break. The store smells nice and is pretty clean. Finding items are normally a hit or miss but definitely work coming through and seeing what new items you can find.

This place is the worst when buying from you!! Sell elsewhere or donate to a charity! I second all comments that they have no respect for your clothes after they’ve dig through your bag. They don’t buy anything that isn’t for a teenager or something they “young bucks” wouldn’t wear. I took a giant bag of name brand clothing, a Dooney purse included. They took 5 items for $12. I’ll never come back here to sell or buy!! OH, but, they wanted me to donate. No thanks, I’m dropping it off at Operation Kindness.

Ive shopped here once before and bought some nice converse. The clothes are organized by color and size which is nice, but they are a bit overpriced for a resale shop which makes me hesitant about buying things. Since I had bought from them once and I had tons of clothes of my own to give away, I was excited to come here and try to sell like two small suitcases worth of clothes and shoes.I was very quickly disappointed. The woman told me it would take 30 minutes to go through the everything, I watched her very quickly glance through my clothes in about five minutes, many of which were in great or excellent condition, a lot of clothes from Forever 21, a barely worn thick winter skirt from Uniqulo, barely/never worn heels and platform heels, winter boots, sweater from the Limited, Abercrombie and Fitch, etc. I expected them not to take a couple of things, but this was ridiculous. At one point I specifically pointed out one of the skirts she was looking at was brand new from Forever 21 (Still had tags) that I had bought a couple weeks ago and it didnt fit me as well as I thought (it was on clearance so I couldnt return it).The skirt was the only thing they took. $2.50. This was extremely disappointing because I really needed new winter clothes and was hoping to buy some new items from here. I was even excited to tell my friends about this place to maybe save some money on brand name clothing. But I feel super burned by this experience and dont think I will willingly come back.

Hello, I used to work like this, and reading these comments make me furious. Customers always complain about the things that employees do wrong and why they will never come back, no one ever talks about what the employees endure. Starting off, it is a consignment store, so if you think you are going to get a extremely close price to what you are bringing in, such as a pair of shoes that cost 200 it will most likely be sold in the low hundreds maybe less depending on the store. Customers who dont understand this easy process are so annoying, if you want more money, sell it online, dont bring it to a store who tries to sell things for cheap to appeal to the ones who want to buy. It is a way for some that just wanna make quick money and get rid of things. If you have a nice michael kors purse and you want 300 for it, it will not happen at a store like this.But if you really do not care and just want like 60 or maybe 90, this is the place. This is something not hard to understand. Quick Cash. Not a lot of cash. Secondly, I have had customers yell at me specifically because I would not take in older clothes. I see that Uptown is similar to what I used to do. It is a store for teens and young adults. That is not rude or demeaning in any way. Just like the store, Clothes Mentor, is mainly for an older crowd. People get so offended by these simple policies for what reason I do not understand. Do not get mad when people do not take in clothes that you wear to you corporate job into a store where teens ages 13-19 find clothes to wear to their parties. Though they may offer casual clothes, it will not be a store filled with business clothes. Lastly, people have no respect for the store. I remember working until 12 at night cleaning up a store where people hide clothing inside other clothing because they did not have the money to buy what they wanted that day. Which is fine, but must you ruin the store for your own needs? In the end, the piece of clothing you hid will be found and put in its right place. All in all, there needs to be an understanding with these types of stores. If you come in with an idea with how you THINK the store is ran, do not be disappointed because stores like these have different rules. If you need to know everything call ahead of time and ask questions, but do not come in and then be disappointed because it was not what you thought it would be, then leave, and give everyone an attitude. Because it does nothing but become a funny story between all of the staff members.

Its got some good stuff but not as expected. Some of the shoes are used but still quite expensive. Employees are nice tho...

Decent deals on quality clothes. They didnt pick much out of my bag of items to sell, but any purchase you make is tax free if you sell that day.

Will not be going back to sell clothes. They were having a busy day so I agreed to stay and walk around the store while my clothes were being looked at. Not even 15 minutes later I was called back to say they would not be taking anything. I watched and my bags were never moved or touched. The people working there did not even go through my clothes!

The worst customers service yesterday I asked the cashier about getting back my money if my son dint like the jeans she said yes I asked three time same question are you sure, today when I returned one of the jeans they said only store credit. Cloth is expensive to be thrift store you can buy new cloth in old Navy cheaper. Never come back here.

I love shopping here. They have an amazing selection of clothing, jewelry, shoes, and purses. I always find everything I need here. I would like to see more higher end brands though. Example: Gucci, Burberry, Coach, etc. But other than that, it’s an awesome place. I got 3 PINK by Victoria Secret shirts there for $20. I owned a lot of designer brands brands before coming to this store. But I can get them so much cheaper here, and in mint condition! Also would love a coupon!! Lol!!- Caroline Childress

Im being extremely generous by giving them 3 stars..... I was originally excited about coming to this store. When I walked in, the clerk behind the desk barely looked up as she said hello. Another woman came in shortly after I did....this woman got a friendly hello, along with an explanation of the current sales the store was offering. I didnt get any of that. I wandered around the store for a while to see if any employees would ask if I needed assistance of any sort......NOPE, NOTHING. I walked past at least 2 clerks who didnt even look at me!! Extremely disappointed, they dont deserve my money even though I saw lots of things that I would have purchased.

You act as an ethical business but have policies that are morally wrong. I looked up how much all of the items were that I was bringing to the store and expected to get something close to the price. I had a minor emergency and had to leave the store for 20 minutes. I come back and they tell me that I have to accept $18 for at least $125 worth of items because I had to left the store for a period of time. Unethical business policies but friendly employees.

Came in at 6:55 with clothes to sell and they turned me away because they stopped buying at 7... it wasn’t 7 yet and the store closed at 8. They were also helping someone that came in at the same time. Poor customer service. VERY disappointed.

I have gotton some really good clothes here, and will continue to buy from them, although be careful when selling, it really depends who is evauluating, each person introduces their own personal evaulating standards verse what the policy is. . Point in fact, one day I came in with a bunch of stuff..... they only took two items, I came back with the same exact items a couple days later when a different person was working and they took almost all of it...So, buying is still good and I recomend them....
