In 2017 my kid started middle school band and we chose Music and Arts to rent her clarinet for $49 per month. The rental included any repairs or damages to the clarinet. In 2021 we called to have a key repaired on the clarinet and we were told that we own the clarinet as of May 2021 and any repairs were now our responsibility. When did we become the owners of the clarinet? As the Music and Arts employee explained over the phone, their rental program is actually a rent to OWN program. As I think back to when I was in the shop in 2017, I dont think that sales person said anything about rent to own. All that person told us about was how we had nothing to worry about if anything should need to be done to repair the clarinet. Music and Arts would take care of it as part of the rental program. Fast forward to August 2021 and the first time weve had a problem. I have to admit that I can not find my rental agreement from 2017, but Im sure that the sales person from 2017 did not tell us we were renting to own the clarinet. So let this be a warning to any parent doing business with Music and Arts. Make sure you understand that the rental is really just a finance program to purchase the instrument or you could get stuck with a $300 repair bill like I did.Update 09/28/2021 - the people that work in instrument repair are really good and care about their about customers.
I brought my teen son in to try electric guitar amps, so the functions, sound settings, and sound quality could be experienced. Our salesperson, Quentin, played the guitar in about 12 different styles, and answered every question easily! The whole place seems very professional.
Nice place to find most anything for music or instruments.
I have purchased music from this store many times. The sales staff has always been helpful and very professional. Today however I want to commend Stephanie T for her service. When I entered the store she immediately greeted me with a smile and asked how she could help me. I asked for a specific Rachmaninov piano solo piece or if the store didn’t have it could she order it for me and was told yes. She told me she thought they had it and went right over to the bins and within a minute pulled it out. And yes she did have a smile on her face. She helped me several more times.Since I have shopped there before I have a comment about the staff. Today I overheard several conversations as they helped other customers. Again very helpful and professional. AND I have observed that when they are not assisting customers I have NEVER heard conversations that I would regard as personal. You have hired and trained some very professional people.Obviously I will return.
Great place for music lessons! Staff is very courteous, the store is very clean (ahem, not Guitar center), and Steve is literally a rock star. Highly recommend.
Great product but ugly delivery service!I ordered the [Roland RP102 Digital Piano] and it is a great product. My ugly experience is with the delivery. Before I order this at Music And Arts Frisco store I stated that I was not going to be at my place to personally receive it. I would have to let management office to open my apartment so they can put it inside. A week before the delivery “R & L Carrier’s” called me and I re estate my situation with the delivery; they said it was not problem. The day of the delivery I got several calls, the first one from the driver who said it was not his job to put my piano inside my apartment. I was one hour away from my place at the moment. They did not even wanted to take it to the place where carriers leave the packages. Again, he stated “it was not his job” but only leave it at the street I guess. The dispatcher called and repeat the same story about their job. Then they called me again and by that time I told them to take the product back or at least take it to the store. They agreed to take it to the store. What it does not make sense is why they were able to push it inside the store but not my place. What was the difference? I will never ever order from Music and Arts, ever! I suggest to pay a little extra to assure they will deliver to inside your place, I am talking about a piano not just a simple package. The piano needs to be as abled, not too difficult at all but also not to easy. Also I need to give credit to Music And Arts Frisco store because they accommodate the situation the carrier left me. They even gave me a little discount for the piano bench.
This place is not good. I bought a viola here and it was terrible, it hurt my shoulders and has a bad sound. Not only that but I took my guitar to get it fixed because just one string came lose and the said no! They told me to go back home and fix it by watching a YouTube video. Dallas string on the other hand is much more dependable.the employees are nice but cannot do anything
I was extremely impressed with this store. In a last minute attempt to find a particular guitar for my husband the same day, Beth went out of her way to find what I wanted. Rather than giving me numbers to other locations or telling to call myself she took my info, called around and got back to me. Once we found what we were looking for she called the manager to had them hold it for me. Excellent customer service. Thank you SO much!!
Paying a lot of money for a new clarinet rental which includes free replacement or loaner if a repair is needed. Today we needed a clarinet repair and there were no loaners! Except for a plastic clarinet which was not acceptable for concert band. The only replacements were very well used instruments which is not acceptable since we bought new. Very dissappointed.
Anthony was very knowledgeable and helpful with finding music and aides to help my daughter learn the piano. We will definitely be going back to the store for any future needs!
Dont bother to schedule lessons through Music & Arts. My daughter was excited about taking violin lessons. I set everything up over the phone and even called to confirm appointment. We showed up early to complete paperwork like they asked. We sit and wait like we were told for the instructor to show. After waiting 10 minutes after our scheduled lesson time I ask the front desk about our lesson. They take us to the back and it turns out our instructor Stephanie has decided the scheduled time doesnt work for her so she isnt going to do the lesson. We never actually speak to her because shes ignored us completely and spoken only to the guy who works at the store. He tells us we can pick another time because the instructor told someone else at the store that she wasnt going to do the lesson but they just forgot to contact me. Totally unprofessional. While there I heard another parent arguing about their lesson time & mischarged fees. I decided to save myself the future headaches and asked for a refund. The didnt seem apologetic or concerned with what happened.
I would definitely recommend them! Renting an instrument from them is very reasonable. And you can apply your rental credit towards the cost of the instrument if you decide to purchase it. They are very helpful every time we have been there.
Excellant !! Friendly and knowledgeable!!
Price was right, but service was a little slow.
Always have had great experiences with this store. We rent our sons string bass from this location and prior to that we rented his cello. We havent had any issues to date. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable.
I just wanted to talk about the store manager, Kayla Webb. She was awesome! I had an issue, with happened long before she started working there, with the store, so had to contact the district manager but the store manager didnt respond to me after they found the issue was caused by them. The customer service staff (a gentleman) was also meant to me. I had to waste so much time to contact them (calling, texting, & facebook posting) so many times and wait for their answers (about over 3 months). Kayla, the store manager, dealt with this issue very smoothly and QUICKLY. Just one phone was enough for me to address the issue (it took just about 1 week to get my issue addressed). She is awesome!
Good store, but incredibly understaffed. Get ready for a ...long.... wait in line.
Thank you to Kyle Horton at Music & Arts in Frisco!! I teach preschool and we love to sing and learn with the Autoharp, my Autoharp was getting out of tune and Kyle came to our rescue and tuned it beautifully! Our ears say Thank you!! - we are enjoying music once again!!
So, its an okay store, but it doesnt usually have what I want. I usually go there to get 11 gauge guitar strings, and only once have they had them. There are usually 5 or so empty slots where the guitar strings I need would go. Also, my usual wait time in line is over 20 minutes. If this store had all its products in stock and had more employees working or reduced wait time, I would definitely go there more. However, for the time being, I will have to take my business somewhere else.
Great customer service in a very clean and organized location. Will definitely be using Music and Arts for all of my sons school music needs!
TAKE CARE!!! THE WEBSITE RETURN POLICY DOES NOT APPLY TO THIS STORE:The following items are returnable only if defective OR unopened or unused: strings, reeds, tubes (amplifier tubes), earbuds, earplugs, recorders, tin whistles, flutophones, world wind instruments, harmonicas, raw-frame speakers, drumheads, drumsticks, turntable cartridges, fog fluid, clothing/footwear, body jewelry, cleaners, polishes, and polishing cloths.
For school stuff, had to go there. Stuff were nice and friendly
DO NOT EVER RENT FROM THIS PLACE!!!!!!!! They will rip you off and take absurd amounts of money out of your bank account without your authorization! Dont bother calling customer service, they will talk to you like your stupid, extremely rude and unhelpful.
Great, knowledgable staff who are happy to help you find whatever youre looking for.
Ok store but understaffed.
The staff was very friendly and helpful, but santa totally failed. I bought a drum set that was incomplete.
Outstanding customer service and they everything, I mean everything
Theyre deceiving with the sales they have in the store by putting a sale price and discount on a guitar thats not for sale just for you to ask about it and then try a sell you something you dont like.
Ok!
Good products and staff
Friendly staff and clean store!
This is the worst music store ever and I am never going back don’t go there for any repairs because your going to get three dumb guys who just complain about not being able to use any of the tools and then tell you it has to go to the shop wrist store ever!!!!
Amazing
They are very kind and attentive to what one is looking for
