Platinum recently built two covered patios (one screened), off the back of our brand new home. They did a great job designing and building structures of high quality and beauty. They look like they were built with the home instead of being added on later. That was what we wanted and that is what Platinum delivered. It took a good bit longer to complete the project than we were originally quoted. However, understanding how crazy the situation in construction in our area is right now, it was understandable. I wouldnt hesitate to recommend Cody and his team to friends (we already have in fact) and family.
This company installed a pergola through Mirage Custom Pools less than 1 year ago. A few weeks ago we noticed that there are many areas where the stain has severely faded. I received Platinums information from our pool contractor and contacted them regarding this issue. I was told to send them the photos and they would reach out.It has been several weeks and I have not heard anything back. I have texted and called on multiple occasions.Update 5-19-20:Cody Brooks contacted me late yesterday evening and explained to me what had happened and why I was not contacted in a timely fashion. He assured me that the problem would be resolved and sure enough, Anthony and his crew arrived first thing this morning. They were very nice and took care of the issue in a timely fashion.I am very satisfied with the results and am happy to change my review to a 5 star rating.
I would NOT recommend this company. The pool company hired this contractor to build the pool structure and then we hired them to do our fence. The fence looks bad, after several attempts to contact, they dont respond and are rude. Then this company hired another stain company called Texas Best Stain and should be called Texas WORST stain. They left oil stains on my new travertine, missed spots, only applied a light coat of stain so stain looked so uneven - very cheap job. They said they would come back to do the second coat -- after trying to contact them for months, and they kept postponing, they showed up yesterday with a tiny roller and a tiny can of paint to touch up. The painter said it looked so bad so i needed to contact the office again. We finally went and purchased our own stain and supplies and finished the job ourselves. Frustrating experience - absolutely not worth spending any money on these companies.
The guys at Platinum outdoor environments really impressed me with their work at my residence! Cody and NATE have been great to work with. The team added an attached patio cover and steel pergola at my house. I am so incredibly happy with the results. They were absolutely slammed with projects while mine was being built, but sill gave me the attention to detail that I expected from them when they were working. Understand that when working with a professional and very busy company that things take longer than expected, and can go not quite according to plan, but their team will work with you to make the project turn out amazing! Thanks to everyone at platinum for a great back yard!
We loved working with Cody and his team. He came in and got the job done in a very timely manner, very responsive to all questions, and his team is very professional. We can’t say enough good things!!
We had a great experience working with Cody Brooks and his management team at (Platinum Outdoor Environments). His crews - both construction and stone masons were top notch !! Cody and his management team were very creative in providing us just what we were looking for ( like building our television mount area right into our .privacy wall. We have a beautiful stone bar area/ outdoor grilling area.We could not be happier !The Hoerners
Our outdoor pavilion project was initially “completed” in October 2019. The initial crew he sent to repair the yard and install French drains were clueless, placing grass over clumps of dirt, no leveling, The French drains were not installed properly, which we discovered when the first big rain came. Our pavilion ended up with 4 inches of standing water, causing hours of work to clean up. Cody sent another crew to tear out the grass, replace the french drains and supposedly fix the drainage issues. I will say, the grass was installed neatly and everything looked good; until the next heavy rain. Again, the building flooded. I discovered that the french drains were tied into the floor drain in the pavilion, which was allowing massive amounts of water to enter the building. To date, I have pumped water out of the building at least 5 times (every heavy rain). We have contacted Cody multiple times with a promise to come out and fix the issue....months later; nothing. The building looks great, however based on their overall lack of customer service and follow-up, I would not partner with this company.
Cody and his crew are fantastic at what they do. I interviewed multiple patio companies and most of them turned down the job or just didnt return my calls after they realized the scope of the work. Cody and his crew came in and had 80% of the work done before my pool company even showed up to begin their part. We have already referred Platinum to many of our friends.
We were referred to Platinum Outdoor Environments in the Jan/Feb timeframe and worked closely with a project manager to create a covered roof extension. We were really excited about the design and process and agreed to move forward. We were in the process of building a pool, which needed to be completed before we could start the roof structure so the project manager asked us to regroup 2 weeks before the pool was complete so they could get the plan through engineering and permitting. We spoke on May 9th and gave them the green light to officially begin the project and were told it would take 3-4 weeks to get through engineering and permitting. Fast forward, as of June 19th, our project hadnt even gone through engineering. Our project manager kept saying that it takes time, hes busy with other projects, the engineer is backed up. My biggest frustration wasnt with the amount of time it was taking, but with the complete lack of proactive communication. He would say hed have an answer on Friday and Id have to follow up the next Tuesday for an update. That went on for weeks and we both were frustrated. He informed me that he wanted to part ways because I dont trust him. It was never about trust from my perspective, but felt like this wasnt their priority or that he had too much on his plate to get this structure started/completed.My real complaint and frustration is with the owner, Cody Brooks. When it became apparent that we werent getting anywhere, I emailed Cody and asked him to call me. Instead of calling me, he had my project manager return my call, which obviously didnt get us anywhere. I emailed Cody again and asked to speak with him and he responded via email the next day saying he had family in for Fathers Day weekend and he would call me the following Monday. He never called, so I called him on Tuesday and he didnt return my call. I sent one final email on Wednesday and he never had the courtesy to respond. My email was nice, professional and reasonable. I simply asked if there was a path forward or did we need to part ways and find another contractor. When customers spend tens of thousands of dollars with a company, its CRITICAL that the owner of the company is invested in his employees and his clients. I am so thankful we parted ways once I realized that the communication issue we were having at the project manager level is very much part of the company culture as the example is clearly set at the highest level in their organization.I get the people are busy. I get that there are setbacks and delays. Frankly, I even get that proactive communication may not be the norm. I will not accept, however, that an owner of a company has such disregard for his clients. His company wasted 5 months of my time (Feb start and parted ways mid-June) and he didnt have enough professionalism or courtesy to simply respond to my phone calls or emails.
We just had an outdoor kitchen built and the experience was both easy and pleasurable. Cody Brooks followed up and followed through with everything he promised - and then some. I would definitely recommend them to anyone and would use them again. I trust them.
Harley and his team extended our covered patio with a beautiful structure as well as laid concrete paver flooring. We sought three separate bids for our project and Harleys was the best match, plus he took great care to respond to all of our questions and visited multiple times to ensure we were comfortable with the plan. We are very happy with the final product and would consult with Platinum Outdoor Environments should we have another project of similar nature.
Harley was great to work with. From the beginning he was very helpful with planning my design and then came over often during the project to make sure everything was going as expected. They did a beautiful job on our fence, gate and roof extension/patio cover.
Platinum built a patio cover and an outdoor kitchen for us. Harley made several trips out to the house and was very patient as we figured out exactly what we wanted. The job was done very quick and most important, was very high quality. Highly Recommend!
We have done multiple jobs with these guys and they are awesome! Highly recommend Cody and his team.
