I love going in every so often just to see how customers and staff are dressed. I get inspiration on what I want to sew next. The customers and staff have an eclectic fashion sense. I love it. I still treasure my pink heart-shaped sunglasses I found there 6 years ago. It’s rare finds like that that keep me coming back hoping I’ll score something else unique.
Great selection of vintage hipster clothes. If youre into that this place is worth the drive. Although, I think they passed on a good buy with some Levi jeans they did buy. They pretty much passed and were quick to offer donation instead of buying. Super unique pieces. My rating is based on their buying criteria.
Its alright, way better than the other than than I usually go to. Copped a Fuct hoodie and some AF1s for a good price. But other than that, I couldnt find a anything my style. Pretty cool tho, would come back
I went here with my daughter and the woman working the dressing rooms was really rude to us. I’m not usually one to complain and I’m not sure why but it made the shopping experience really awkward for us. Besides that we found some cute clothes and checkout was fine. Also if you don’t bring a bag they charge you $2.50 for one of theirs.
Have a pretty good selection of clothes and shoes that fit a funky/alt type of aesthetic; a lot of it is vintage/old fashion. The store is definitely more of a curated resale shop than a thrift store. Youll see a lot of things for sale slightly below market prices but also typically second hand– not exactly the place for bargain or staple shopping. They do take clothes that you can sell, but might not take a lot of it (especially if its common or otherwise uncool). BE has a cool atmosphere (upscale vintage meets secondhand like goodwill) but is questionably accessible. Theres seating up front (for sellers waiting to sell) but none in the dressing rooms. You might be able to get around with a wheelchair/walker/etc but the space is crammed with clothing racks. (The racks are far enough apart but the actual clothes get in the way). Worth checking out for yourself.
Nice and clean. Customer service is awsome prices are great will diffently go back
Window display gave a boutique impression come to find out once inside it has some sort of musky smell with tainted used clothes and mask nazis wanting me to wear their provided masks when I had my own on, was asked to leave store. No problem, I was glad to. Never coming back again and felt fooled that I was walking into a boutique rather than a thrift store right in downtown Fullerton. Whats happened to Fullerton?? Upon reading reviews guess Im not the only one who thinks their staff has attitude problems with overly overly worn clothes 😂 Hope owner re-evaluates his staff..
Great selection, staff was so friendly, helpful, smart and fabulous. Megan was awesome so go check it out !!!!
DONT GO HERE. Biggest waste of time, the employee was only going to take one jacket...said everything else was too worn. 5 out of the 10 things were brand new. The guy didnt even hardly look, he was just trying to finish up so he could finish his day. Their other store I went to was a lot better. Completely useless.
Great finds and great customer service
Ugly girls with nasty attitude working today they are not friendly at all, didnt acknowledge customers or said Hi! to all of them.I dint feel welcome and wont be returning or recommending them to anyone. Clothes and shoes are overpriced and very worn!!!
So many cute clothes ! So many nice workers, and very organized
Much much much better than the Melrose one!
I have been able to get some very nice clothing at this shop. Buffalo Exchange also has very reasonable prices!
I love this store, the employees are always nice, their buy offers are always within reason, better than 2nd Street in Costa Mesa. Take it to them before taking it elsewhere
Selling here just isnt worth it. They turn down nearly brand new items almost every time. Ive tried to sell here about ten times and never have much luck. More hassle than its worth. Sometimes you can find stuff as a buyer, but more misses than hits.
This is a clothing and accessory resale store with used and new items that are trendy, vintage or kitschy. The unique selections are constantly changing. Prices are reasonable, especially when a tag is marked sale, which is 50% off. You may also sell your closet clean out items to them for cash or store credit. Call first to make an appointment to sell. Because of CoVid, you cant try on items right now, which is the only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5.
Great selection on new and slightly used clothing. Friendly helpful staff.
Not worth selling here been to other buffalos and have made more
I liked the clothes they were selling, but as far as the stuff I brought in to sell, I brought in 3 tubs of clothes and a few bags, and they took none of it. I ended up donating all the clothes, and I wouldve been better off selling them online. Unless the clothes youre getting rid of are in style, they wont take any of it. Dont waste your time.
Awesome selection, specially for a chain. Good service here too. Never sold clothes here though so just speaking from a buyers perspective :)
I like Buffalo Exchange, but the only reason I visit is if I need to sell something or I have time to go bargain shopping. To be honest, their prices arent the best. If youre looking for serious bargain shopping, I would just go to a Goodwill or thrift shop. If you dont like to hunt for clothes or only prefer brand named clothes, I would visit this location. What I dont like about Buffalo is their selling procedure. It definitely feels like they pick and choose what they sell. I have brought in new clothing or fairly new clothing to this location and they have rejected my offers. On two particular occasions, I found two exact pieces of clothing being sold. What made them purchase the other persons clothing and not mine? If youre planning on selling, I wouldnt get there first thing in the morning because thats when theyre the busiest. Yes, its true the employees can be rude at times when selling, but whatever.Overall, I prefer to come and shop here rather than sell.
This place has sub-par items. I was told BE would take clothing that was “in”. I had 3 bags of items and not one item was taken even though the cashier mentioned how some of my items were “cute”. Pretty disappointed with not only the selling, but also with the selection in the store. I didn’t find anything in the store that was trendy or stylish.
People are nice
We called Buffalo Exchange in Fullerton to confirm they were open, they said yes. They never disclosed that their policy has changed if we were looking to sell clothes. Drove 20 minutes only to be told the per the new policy when selling clothes, we need to leave the clothes with them for 24 hours and wait for them to notify us if they are buying the clothes. Ridiculous!!!!! Why would we drive all the way back to pick up the clothes afterwards. I will never return to Buffalo Exchange
Always a great place to find something unique and fun.
They have Cal State Fullerton not far away, which is commuters University for poor. Those students mostly shop here, so you understand what kind of stuff they sell. Some bring many dirty bags with dirty clothes to sell.
Awesome selection of clothing for reasonable prices! The staff is very stylish and friendly. They also donate to a few charities! My favorite place to get one of a kind t-shirts.
I called to ask if they were buying Levis at the time. The girl told me yes and to bring them in. I got all the way out there and then they said they werent buying that style. I think that is a standard answer for this store. I would love to see some improvment from this business, like an option to send pictures of the items. I just feel like my experience so far has been a waste of time and gas.
I took a lot of clothes in and there was no sign of where I should go so employees kept asking me to move and didnt let me set my items down bc they would get in everyones way. They ended up not taking anything so it was a waste of time to try to find parking in such a busy area and then carry my stuff to the store. Ill stick to going to other thrift stores instead of this particular location
Staff was very polite at this location. Wish they had more to offer for someone my size, but I understand that they dont really control what they stock. I was always impressed how much mens clothing there was here.
Worst place to sell clothes.I brought alot of clothes that are whey better stuff than they have but they wont buy a thing. I should of known because there were no sellers and no people who were shopping either. The place was empty!!It seems to me that they only buy from their family member and their friends. This is the worst Buffalo!!I will never buy or sell there!!!
Amazing place if youre looking for gently used vintage clothing! Staff are friendly and happy to answer any questions you may have! Go and have fun!
Read some of the negative reviews about selling here. This review is solely about purchasing not selling, so keep that in mind. I find some interesting pieces here. Its a cool, hip shop. I wish there was more variety and a greater quantity. It always seems like theres something that wont fit me more often than not.
A little bit expensive
First time selling here. Staff are super friendly. Either could have sold my item for $3 cash or gotten $6 credit. Parking lot is in the back. Back door is not handicap friendly if on a wheelchair, it has two baby steps. They have a huge amount of awesome sweater collection during winter.
This has been the worst shopping experience. Their Customer Service is horrible, and they are uneducated on the true value of clothes. I usually dont complain but when I do its for good reason. I will not be shopping here, neither will my fiance. As they they lack customer service for him.
Honestly Alaundra, I hope someone treats you with the same kindness you gave me today. Best of luck being such a horrible person. Please don’t shop here or work here, the managment is a bunch of stuck up pretentious little girls. Super unprofessional and rude, plus they don’t give you any money for the clothes you try and sell. It’s so sad, I really hope this place goes out of business and Alaundra will be to blame.
I took a lot of good brand clothes.. For example 7 jeans, Hollister, gap, Adidas, Calvin Klein, banana republic, and American eagle and they didnt buy anything. They only bought a shirt of my friend, which they will sell for 18 dollars and they only gave her 2 not fair. I recommend for you not to go and waste your time like me and my friend did
Friendly staff. Excellent treasure.
I went there with many good items still with their tags, never used, good brand names. Theyd said over the phone that yes they wanted those items. But it was a total waste of time and effort, they bought NOTHING and the snooty hipster buyer was condescending to top it all off. I ended up donating everything to a homeless man and the Salvation Army. This place used to be good, now it seems racist (theyre only good to people of color) and arrogant and rude. Like all the other one-stars in here say, I agree.
This place typically has great stuff, if youre tiny. I never find things my size. Sigh. But its a hip shop in a college part of town.
This place always has cool stuff, you never know what you are going to find. Everyone is helpful and there is some, in my opinion, good music that plays here to make the stay more easy.
Not for older, plus, size women so dont waste your time. I took to sell, a guess handbag, ny&co and style&co sweaters, some forever21 pencil skirts and other things with tags still on but they didnt want any of it. They should put the specific things they are looking for just like the chalkboard they have in the store. At least the young man that was helping us was very polite.
A fun place to shop for second hand clothing. Artsy, hip vibe with cool decor and super nice and helpful employees. You never know what you might find so dont go with expectations. Its just fun to explore the racks. My college age kids have sold (exchanged...hence the store name) clothing here. They dont do it expecting much cash, instead, they get store credit and shop afterwards. Basically you get more than having a yard sale and can stop at either the Good Will or Salvation Army to shop afterwards and donate what Buffalo didnt take. Parking is competitive due to the fact that public lots in this downtown area are shared by multiple shops and restaurants.
Great store
Really hip place. The music playlist was fun to listen to. The staff is very friendly. Buffalo has a very cozy and warm feel.
Very cool store. Lots of diverse options; I always manage to find something here.
If you want to sell, dont waste your time. I brought two big bags full of good condition clothes (some new), they didnt take anything
Jennifer was the only helpful person in there and am now told that she is gone. Bummer. Id rather go elsewhere than deal with the rude people in this store. The manager seems a little rude and thats a shame because the clothes are great. Guess Ill go to another buffalo exchange.
Its either a hit or miss with this place (in regard to selling clothes). It always depends on the individual that will be picking through your clothes to buy. I have sold tons of items to one individual and barely sale anything to a different individual (even though its the similar style). Half of the time they have no idea what they are looking for.I dont shop here (only sale), so I have no opinion on their clothing selection.
This review is based on my experience as a seller and not as a buyer. I think this is a store to sell cheap clothing items rather than expensive pieces. The kids who assess the clothes are looking for specific fashions which are not necessarily quality, but the bottom line is they will pay the same amount for a cheap t-shirt and a designer or better brand t-shirt. I sold a few items today but from now on I will just give my stuff to Goodwill. At least it will go to a good cause. A pair of unused $160.00 Via Spigas, a $120.00 skirt from Bloomingdales, one silk top from BR and three other tops I paid $89 a piece were valued at $21.00! All items were in like new condition. A girl next to me sold shorts from forever 21 for more money. Again, they got to do what they have to but if you have better quality clothes to sell I suggest finding a different venue.
Took some clothes there, still brand new. Never worn. Tags were still on. Just been sitting in my closet. Took them in hoping to get somewhat good money but didnt even get atleast 30%. Not a place if youre looking to get your moneys worth or atleast, but a cool place to look around. Some of the shirts I have bough there were not worth it. Also bought a jacket from there, and went to wear it the next day and found chewed gum in the pocket. I spent about $23 on a used Greatful Dead shirt and it was faded within a week. A pair of hook earings I liked were $18. A basic pair of hook earings. I was shocked. The prices werent so high when the place first opened, but after that first year or so. They just went so high I no longer go there.
Very rude staff that think they are better then you. Staff will belittle you and degrade you. Definitely not recommending this place. Very disappointed
Clean and nice but overpriced, Im my opinion.
Great place to sell, trade or buy clothes. Friendly employees. Highly recommend!
This place sucks! I sold some things the first time and got $16 for 3 dresses which wasnt too awful. But the second time I went I brought things with the tags still on them and the girl said we are looking for trendy things do you have another bag maybe? They are very rude and they have no scale on how they accept your items. Its based on what the girl at the counter might like! I went twice and Ill NEVER go back. Awful service.
I saw all the bad reviews and thought people were exaggerating. I was wrong. This place is horrible. They will make up an excuse for anything you bring in.
Good selection of clothing, and it even changes depending on the season
They were rude and condensing I would not recommend this stote to anyone.. It seemed like they were only buying from people they new.. Not a good experience...
Great used clothing at great prices. Wife absolutely loved this store
Cheap and cute, for the most part. Super friendly staff, too!
Impeccable quality, clean, close to new clothes and shoes...cant wait to go back
This place is kool if you the right skin color. I went in to sell some stuff. The lady in front of me got $204 for the exact same things I had to sell. The Manager was rude in person and on the phone when I called. What a rip off....... I went home to get the items they said they would accept, the items I brought in was better than what they had on the shelf and they still wasted my time this place is a Super Rip Off and the manager at this store shouldnt be the manager. They had me come here three times and bought nothing. I guess I wasnt the right skin tone......
Lots of Nice Clothing here you can find vintage clothing
They didnt accept 1 thing out of the 5 huge bags I brought in. They didnt even look through everything. I left very disappointed.
Great items. But hard to find right sizes.
This place is scam when u bring ur clothes to that place they dont really look at it the first thing g they tell u to look around what they have actually goodwill is better is too expensive I will not recommend this place and do not bring ur clothes for exchange bc u will get nothing is scam thats the waythey get customer u go there and bring ur clothes to exchange but is not they ask u to shop thier .
Great service, the personal is very unique, just what I didnt like it, the prices kind of high & also if you want to trade in some clothes, you get paid very little,... Great business for themNot for you ;(
Ive been buying, trading, selling here for several years. On average they want half of what I bring in. The thing I really like is most of the clothes and shoesI find there are things I wouldnt want to trade back.
They didnt take anything I brought to sell, but they were polite and had a lot in the store. Probably wont come back though.
They have good quality items and very nice decorations but they seem a little over priced. Would rather go to Ross or Marshalls.
Their shoe selection was great but everything was like as if it was on the clearance section at the actual store. Too expensive for it being used! A lot of clothing but all outdated as well. Didnt enjoy my experience that much.
Great place to find those old school fashion
Good place for previously loved garments.
Cool selection. Great service.
They are super picky about their stuff i brought it 16 pairs of shoes with the brands of coverse, playboy, forever 21, nike, sketchers etc... And the lady in front of me hand michael korrs and coach and gucci bags and they all got handed bag to her thats ridiculous idk how u can be so picky about used clothes and shoes its not like their brand new and besides most of the shoes i bought qere used once or they were brand new
Great deals on dress shirts..nice staff
They were very nice and helpfrl
Good system for fashion lovers alike.
Cute store and great used condition.
Called ahead to sell a vintage dress and they said yes we buy it bring it in ... Got there and they said were not taking dresses at the moment there taking fall clothing .. I was like get it together
Very crowded, but the attendants work pretty fast.
You can sell your clothes here and get more than most people will pay for it. Have sold many items. Can get store credit (50% of what they will sell the item for) or cash (30% of what they will sell the item for)).
I got 47 bucks from selling clothes and a few purses there.. but i was surprised when they didnt want my lucky brand jeans or my true religions.
They only buy branded clothes and sell it triple the price. Rip off
First time, cool place .
I liked the staff!
Good clothes, bit expensive for a thrift shop.
Dont bother selling here. They are extremely picky. They most likely wont take your clothes and if they do, theyll give you only 2 dollars. What a waste of gas.
Came to sell clothes. (Did no sell anything) However this is a very Unique place for fashion trends! 👯
Kind of crammed, with the same designer prices for far more goodwill quality stuff than any other buffalo exchange Ive been to. Was done browsing within a few minutes, just wasnt worth it.
High priced. Not organized.
Theyve gotten way too expensive.
They got the good good
Apparently, customer service isn’t shown with their staff members. My recommendation don’t waist your time!!!
People extremely friendly
If you have any old clothes and want to get rid of them and might get a couple of dollars
Pricey, not that many of choises.
