My family and I have been going to Academy Sports and Outdoors for over 10 years and its always our number one choice for any winter clothing attire above all. They always have a big selection of shoes and clothes for the entire family.

Bought a Sig-Sauer P365-XL 9mm with Sig holographic optics and Fobus holster with 2 boxes of 9mm target practice rounds. All of that plus filling out the necessary paperwork in and out in less than an hour which I thought was pretty quick all things considered and it was an excellent purchase its an awesome setup feels great cant wait to shoot it.

They had ammo.. impossible. Good store

The friendly and helpful staff here really helped out. I was able to find everything I needed quickly, and it was clean and organized when I got there. The staff was really friendly, putting on masks upon entering the store in addition to providing hand sanitizer for customers to use throughout the store.

Some staff were rude and followed me around &it made me feel like they thought I was there to steal and I was not doing nothing except shopping again after coming in a few days before that after spending $$$ $1,200.00 on clothes,shoes,duffle bags,backpacks,It makes me feel like my business was not appreciated&my money was not good enough to make someone feel like that when they dont have to be there to spend money/time looking to save money on shopping there is not right to somebody who has never been In trouble or ever caused trouble with nobody &is not a trouble maker, its disappointing that workers acted like they were working and checking things when Im shopping to watch me just to see that I never stole anything,I paid for every little thing I put into my buggy,I paid for everything I Did not steal anything,but I sure felt like something was stolen from me,everything bit of self confidence and self esteem and self worth my self respect for me and for others went our the window that afternoon that night I felt violated by the end of the night I was crying,People have always picked on me&so Im tougher than to just simply it hurt my feelings Im used to some degree of it but that was too much when I wasnt taking nothing but paying for more than the supervisors, managers, &employees, paycheck that week in the two hours I went shopping at academy that one night. How rude. No appolgy could make it better or ever make it up to me since that day Ive not been back&Ive had to return a bag that wasnt quite right I decided to take back,I havent been able to make myself go back yet. I dont know when or if It will be just a 45$$$almost $$50 loss. Because they could make someone feel that way doesnt mean that they should have,they lost out on future business with that rank @$$ bs***

My favorite store I bought a pink camo bathing suit there and absolutely loved it I have been to trying to find another and cant find one 😭😭

This is a huge store much bigger than the one in Chattanooga. Great selection of all types of sporting goods, hunting, fishing, camping and other outdoor equipment as well as grills, smokers and everything to go with them. Fishing Tackle selection was awesome.

Has all your sporting needs. Not bad on prices either.

It was ok they didnt have many work boots in stock and they followed me around like i was a thief as i was browsing waiting on someone to get out of the toilet.

I was in search of a desperately needed bicycle helmet; in luck they had just my size. Dont ask how the Nike T-shirts also ended up in the bag. Sale? Also that body massager. 😍 Oh, well I needed it also... Go to Academy. Take your time. Lots of stuff.

No customer service. When we asked for assistance purchasing a kayak, the associate disappeared and returned to another task. We were in the section a good 30 minutes with no help before we gave up and left.

Un friendly atmosphere. All of them hate their jobs. All of them hate people because out of ten employees nobody made eye contact or asked if i needed help. The lady that helped bring out a kayak was more concerned about her engagement ring getting scratched. At a sporting atore they should not be able to wear those to work. They still left out my life vest and I had to drive back for it the next day. From 30 miles away. I avoid shopping here and i filed two complaints in six months to corporate. Go around.

Had to drive from Birmingham because they were the only ones who had what I was looking for. Darryl give excellent customer service and I can tell he loves what he does. Normally people wouldnt talk to you or if they do you get a sense that they really dont want to. Its really refreshing!

Academy has a great shoe selection and its one of the few places in town I can find Wrangler jeans in my size. The store is always clean and well lite.

Got a really great deal on pair of sneakers regular was 85.00 got them for 27.99. They have a lot of nice shoes on clearance you may luck up like me and find a pair you love..

Very friendly staff! Well organized and clean store. Found my item right away. The store emphasized mask wearing starting at the front door. All employees had on mask. Sanitizer was placed for customer use throughout the store. Very pleasant and speedy experience!

Got kids a trampoline Ive never been here before but Im sure to return. Got assistance right away an the two young men were very nice an out it in the trailer for me.

Only employees I saw were at the registers. No real sales going on. A lot of the shelves were empty. We had items to purchase but we didnt want to stand in the long lines.

They were almost completely out of all the lures in the fishing department and there was nobody restocking.

Everything we were interested in, they dont have. My husband wanted a punching bag with stand. They had the stand, which was shown with the bag on their signage, but they didnt have the bag. Then he asked about the freestanding one, they only had the display, which was missing parts, so they couldnt sell it. He found some shoes he liked, too. 3 different styles, none of which they had in a size 13. Might as well just order online

Got a new pair of shoes at a good price, did not have a cork type dart board or a variety of darts to choose from overall everything else seemed to be there if needed

The only negative thing I can say is that the pricing of their merchandise is simply too expensive. Especially when other local retailers have the same merchandise and for less of the price.

Love this place, reasonably priced after all you get what you pay for so its best to pay a little extra for a good item from someone that will make it right if something happens if u have your receipt or bought it on a debit or their store card. Friendly helpful staff all around! Cant say enough good about Academy Sports! Thank you!

Biggest complaint I have is that they rarely have the items we need in stock. Going into baseball season, had a lot of trouble finding the appropriate baseball supplies. Now were finally getting to start football and the supplies for football are pretty limited. And its been the same issue for us the last 4 years in a row.

Usually one of my favorite places to shop. Ordered a bike from them on Saturday they called and said the one they have that I ordered was in a box and I could come get it. Uh no, the website clearly says yall put them together. Gave them till Monday and called, no its not put together and it wont be till Thursday. Apparently no one is able to put together a bike but one person, who they originally said it would be Monday or Wednesday but now its Thursday. So I just canceled my order and will go somewhere else. You have got to be kidding me, what an absolute joke of a store. The manager needs to be fired

Every associate we saw on our latest trip was very friendly, but not fake friendly - just genuinely nice. They went out of their way to help us more than once in just this one visit. Got the things we were looking for and more because prices on some items are better than weve seen anywhere else.
