WORST BUSINESS OF ANY TYPE IVE EVER DEALT WITH!!! AVOIDTo start they couldn’t get anyone out for a month, they are a busy company and this was understandable. About a week after I signed the contract (before they had done anything) an inspector shows up. They had sent an inspector out on accident somehow before they even had seen the project. Next, they do the rough installation (I am told originally it would all be done at once and then could get inspected but this wasn’t the case). I begin to be frustrated because I find that I can not schedule for the final until the inspection for the rough gets approved, and as stated before they are usually booked out a month in advance. After the rough is done I am called and told that I must put the permit on display for the inspector. What permit? They hadn’t given me a permit! I ended up having to be emailed the permit and print it out. The day of the final hook up that I had been waiting for comes, and I think I am finally good to go... My construction workers get back to lunch and SMELL GAS IN MY HOUSE! I call the company on the emergency gas leak line and am told they are sending someone out immediately... get a call thirty minutes later from someone on the other side of the state. They got my address wrong and sent someone to the wrong address! Finally FOUR HOURS LATER someone comes and fixes this. Also, I was supposed to get gas put in my tank for the final and they did not do that. The staff is also for the most part rude and Unaccommodating.TAKE MY WORD AND TAKE YOUR MONEY SOMEWHERE ELSENot only is this company badly managed but they also could have blown up my brand new house!!!

In response to Robert Phillips who wrote a review. I found Ferrell to be better and friendlier and more honest, like he said! Suburban propane a nationwide company said I was paying $7/gal because I did not use that much, where as Ferrell was around $3/gal. I was able to get SP to lower to $5/gal. But I too will be leaving them. I have been with SP for over 20 years, and wonder just how much Ive been stolen from all those years!

I will be changing to this vendor when my present tank is near empty. When I called there I immediately reached a pleasant and informative person, there was no going through a lengthy procedure to reach someone. I found that they charge considerably less than my present vendor, and have promotions on top of that. They have been in the area forever, are employee owned, and have a good reputation. I was with another local company that was bought by Suburban, and have not been happy with their service. To the person who complained about $ 5 per gallon, try out Suburban at $ 7.35 per gallon.

I dont understand people complaining about the price of a commodity. It is what it is (if you own your tank). Ferrell has provided my house/farm with service for 7 years with no problems. The pricing is in line with the two other suppliers in my area, and when I need service they come when promised. There is a 150 and 500 gal on the property and when a hurricane is approaching they always call and ask if I need a top-up. Good folks, fair price and they have never let me down. One thing I will tell people - in an emergency, when you run out of gas because you didnt plan ahead, dont go calling every propane company and schedule a refill. You ruin it for everyone. With 2-3 suppliers going to your house your selfishness deprives others who are in need just like you. Be considerate.
