I visited here on a whim searching for something to cure my sweet tooth, and let me tell you, I was not disappointed! The cashier was very sweet and informative, explaining the options and answering my questions. This is chocolate from the Dominican Republic and it is very rich and the flavors are quite unique. I enjoyed trying a variety of different bonbons and was not disappointed. I also tried their tea which was refreshing and not too sweet. If you are in the area and enjoy chocolate, I would recommend stopping in. (Also they sell beautiful gift options!)

So much fun to take the tour with Eleanor—and I looooooove the dark chocolate. Plus, it’s cool to know that the family owns the whole growing and production process—not like any of the major chocolate companies.

I want to tell you a tale of how this company is the embodiment of what great customer service looks like.I placed an order the Friday before Valentines Day because Im a procrastinator. I purchased the courier delivery method to ensure it arrived before the big day, when my shipping email arrived on Valentines Day it looks like it was going USPS, and while I back the blue, I know theyre not going to make the delivery on time. I called the recipient to let her know that her gift was in flight but wouldnt arrive in time.I sent an email to the customer service line with my order number and asking if its possible for me to have the courier fee refunded. Instead I got a phone call from one of the owners who apologized and said he would personally make the delivery, and he did! My Valentines Day was saved all because a very successful and very busy person took time out of his day to make it right for me, a guy that hed never met, a customer who was just trying them out for the first time.The chocolate was amazing and Im a forever customer now!

They have free tours on the weekends of their chocolate factory! The chocolate is delicious and you get to sample some during the tour. The staff is very knowledgeable about chocolate, the different types of chocolate, and how its made. This store is a great gem in the Kentlands, Ill be back :-)

Fantastic chocolatier. The tour really shows just how amazing the chocolate was. The shop was small intimate with seating for around 15. This husband and wife business will do well, and the fact that they own the entire production chain makes me feel a lot better about enjoying it. Also, do yourself a favor and try the hot chocolate.

The chocolate is fantastic and the hot chocolate was excellent. Im a pretty picky person, but they impressed me. It can be on the pricy side, but it was definitely worth it. Kudos.

Went there to pick up some treats for Valentine’s Day.My wife loved the salted caramel chocolates. It was a bit pricey but well worth it. You have to eat them slowly to savior all the flavors. It was the best bonbons I ever had.

I loved this place. I ordered a cappuccino that was AMAZING and it was just $3.5. The flavor of the coffee is just so good. The place is cozy and small. I didnt tried the chocolate because they seemed kinda pricey, but Im pretty sure they are amazing, Im just not the kind of person that will spend more than 10 bucks in chocolate bars.

We googled chocolate shop near Gaithersburg and this small one in Kentlands popped up. Its on a cute street near the attractive residential area. We found street parking. Chocolates included bonbons and truffles of many flavors. Our 4 were rich and heavenly and cost $2.50 each! But it was a perfect afternoon stop along with a latte. We sat in the car and watched the varied neighborhood folk walk by which included all ages plus dogs. Very nice area.

Amazing customer service! I highly recommend supporting this local chocolatier. I had a small issue with my delivery and Mr Reid, the owner, personally contacted me to make it right. He went above and beyond to make sure I received my chocolates in time for my event (they were gifts for the speakers).The presentation of the chocolates is fantastic and the flavors are delightful. Great small business, even harvesting their own cocoa in Dominican Republic! This is the ultimate small batch chocolatier. All the products are wonderful.Warning: do not attempt to mail your own gift, like I once did; the Spagnvola shop will do it right, and no chocolate will suffer a tragic demise...

Great chocolate, I love the ice cream/Gelato. Definitely recommend doing the factory tour. Did it about 2 years ago, the tour guide was funny and twas cool to watch the process.

Excellent coffee drinks, beautifully crafted, I would definitely recommend that shop for coffee. My friend and I also tried the hot chocolate, which was tasty and flavored with cinnamon. It was however way too sweet by our European standards, so I would come back for coffee but not for chocolate. I was somewhat expecting to be able to order chocolate-based pastries along with coffee but regrettably they do not offer any.

Excellent selection of chocolates. Shop owner helped arrange a beautiful gift plate of truffles. Spagnvola chocolates are always happily received by family, friends, hotel managers and staff. Cant wait for a snowy day to enjoy hot chocolate in the store.

So many types of chocolates!! And yes its out of the world experience to eat those chocolates. Its a bit costly but its top 10 in this world so that is understandable. I got one of each in there pretty boxes. The gift boxes are pretty too. They have some good coffee options as well which you can give a try.

Oh so good... They have their own chocolate plantation in the Dominican Republic and they make just the most incredibly smooth chocolate because they keep the cocoa butter. National Geographic recently named them one of the 10 best in the world. Also very worth going to their truffle making classes when offered. Its an awesome date

Love this place. They make dark chocolate (high % cacao) without the bitter edge. Multiple flavors available but even the basic bar is excellent(try the 80%!).Consistently professional and friendly service as well. And dont miss out on the coffee! If you like non-burned coffee, this is the place to be!

A nice little chocolate shop thats on the pricier side. Delicious coffee & espresso. I bought my mom a box of chocolates for Christmas and she said they were the best chocolates shed ever tasted (shes very discerning). The one chocolate that I tried was very delicious and moist. This place is out-of-the-way and very amicable. The business owners were working on their finances at a table when myself and my date walked in and they stood up to greet us in person.

They are more than willing and quite happily to walk you through it.Their hot chocolate is SO SO GOOD! I even turned my mom into a believer and when she visits me. O love chocolate. These guys have one of the best chocolates in the world. Cocoa butter and sugar thats all. Go for the free tour to the factory and try some amazing chocolates they have. The 80% cacao was my favourite.

I Absolutely LOVE THEIR CHOCOLATES! They are by far the richest most decadent gourmet chocolates I have ever tried. The service there is great the staff is very friendly and will kindly help guid you into making your chocolate selections ! If youve never been, I suggest making reservations to attend one of their free chocolate factory tours, available only on weekends . The tours are great if you wanna learn how they make their wonderful chocolate. On the plus side you get to try free samples ! The factory is cozy, but I always feel like Im living my childhood dream of visiting a chocolate factory. Definitely a place worth visiting especially if you or someone you know is a chocolate lover!

The gilatto, chocolate and staff were wonderful. We did the tour and loved learning more. Our tour guide even answered questions from our three year old, which included singing a song from the Wiggles (thankfully we were the only family during our specific time 😉)

The food is absolutely amazing. The service on the other hand needs work. The space by the counter is extremely narrow and when the employees were helping people they were jumping around. So I was standing around waiting to pay for the food I already received while other people who came in after were being helped.

Whole SpagNVola is - simply put - loaded to the brim with delicious, amazingly prepared sweet treats, it is quite expensive. They are an “upscale chocolatier” no doubt, and this is reflected in both the quality of their delicious products, the amazingly prepared menu of choices, and the price point. Still, every penny worth the visit!

You havent had a real cup of hot chocolate until youve gotten it from here.

Came here for a tour. Eric and Crisoire are wonderful people who run a sensible, ethical chocolate shop with a mom and pop feel. Eric is great with kids during the tour (which has samples!).

This is an absolute gem in Kentlands, Gaithersburg, MD. This outfit could fit in in Bern or Venice or London. It is extremely high quality chocolate. Just incredible.Must visit if youre in the area.

I enjoy stopping in every few weeks. Its a pretty perfect spot to grab some chocolate and a coffee beverage to take a break from walking around the neighborhood in hot weather. Its hardly crowded and works well for strollers too

They make handmade decadent chocolate bon bons and uniquely flavored chocolate truffles on site. They also have gelato and coffee/expresso drinks. Free tours of the chocolate making free of charge but requires reservations. Definitely worth the trip to see how these chocolates are made.

Terrible customer service. Seemed like a great selection of gelato, truffles and bon bons. If you are looking for actual chocolate there are three options: 80%, 75% and 70% cacao bars, nothing else. If you ask for any assistance finding what youre looking for they give you a look as though you have just asked for directions to the nearest Hershey store. Both clerks were very rude and entirely unhelpful.
