Went to the store and had an unpleasant experience.Ryan appears to be very passionate about his hobby, but that passion can turn toxic when its overprotective and guarded rather than inviting and friendly.I hope he reads this and begins viewing his craft as something that can be enjoyed and shared rather than something that needs to be protected from 7 year olds who view warhammer figures as a toy.

Came in today after buying into 40k for the first time (indomitus box set). Ryan the manager was super helpful and recommended only the tools I needed to start building and playing. He suggested I start building the models first while getting to know the stores community and to take online painting lessons. Thanks Ryan!

I am going to preface this review by saying that Im by no means in denial about the severity of the Covid-19 pandemic, and how it can severely affect businesses. I follow exactly what guidelines are requested and listen when I may do something incorrect, but the way that the manager Ryan treated me and my significant other is inexcusable in every sense of the word.My first, and last, trip to this store happened just yesterday, but still burns my blood to think of how inept the customer service was. Me and my SO were going out to this particular location to get a gift for a close friend for his birthday, and figured going to a name-brand warhammer store for a wider selection would help in finding the right gift. When we came to this particular location, we both saw that the maximum occupancy posted for the store was one person, and figured, Okay, thats most likely the hard rule for the store, but I will ask before entering the store if we can both enter since we knew exactly what we are going to get. So, before I took a step into the store, I asked the manager simply, Is the posting outside a hard and fast rule? Me and my SO live together, so Im asking if it is possible for us both to enter together. The manager, Ryan, retorted in the most sarcastic way possible, Nah, its okay, I just put up that number because I was bored. Figuring that he just had a certain sense of humor and that it was a joke (sarcasm is hard to judge behind a mask), we took one step inside the store and was met with the manager SHOUTING at us like we were five year olds who just stole a hot-wheels toy at Walmart by accident. From this, I waved my (visibly upset) SO outside so I could handle the situation. The customer service only got worse, as Ryan was constantly pressuring me to buy expensive items when I only had a few items in mind. On top of this, he seemingly power-tripped very hard on the fact that he was able to do this, almost disregarding me as a person when I was asking simple questions about inventory. Despite his apologetic and kind guise, I wanted nothing more to do with this store and being even near this person churned my stomach. To anyone reading this review, go anywhere else for your warhammer and hobby needs. Youll most likely find more tolerable and professional people elsewhere.

When I first got into the hobby, Ryan seemed to be helpful, however, that changed fast, he is very easily set off edge and I have witness him come off extremely harsh on children (maybe 10-12 years old) during a demo for not cleaning a paint brush properly. He is very pushy on products and if you say something that he disagrees with, be prepared for a very red face and some very bad breath, if I own a business, Ryan would be the last person that I would want to manage it. He may be very knowledgeable about everything, but he is the reason I will take my business elsewhere for now on.

My wife and I have visited frequently since this shop opened, and we always look forward to it. Ryan is extremely knowledgeable, friendly, enthusiastic and patient and its clear that really loves the hobby and lore. Best of all, there is no hard-selling or pressure, just good, fair advice. Weve also met many great folks in the shop, and everyone always seems to be having a good time either gaming, painting or just hanging out. It really is an inviting, inclusive and fun place to go, and has totally recharged our interest in Warhammer.

The staff is what make this store the best location for the hobby. Extremely professional, very welcoming, and always looking for hobbyists to have fun. When Ryan isnt running interesting Kill Team games, hes helping younger kids with painting tips, and entry techniques for whichever game they come in for. This store is particularly far from me, but I make the drive every week just to go and have a good time.

I walked in knowing i was going to join a interesting and expansive hobby. I did not expect such a friendly environment and a real community that felt inclusive and fun. Great selection of miniatures and extremely friendly and helpful staff. Ryan makes the whole experience come together in a wonderful package, and frankly, i cant wait to come back.

The store is always well stocked, their manager (Ryan) is an experienced warhammer player and very passionate about the job. He provides feedback and is very direct over what you do right and wrong, no minced words, he always has direct and professional feedback; if youre willing to learn and get better at the hobby, this is the best store in the Montgomery county to go to, the staff and the people around it are the best, It has multiple events and you can tell the store is very involved in the day to day happenings at GW.

Great selection of warhammer and 40k figures, and great tables. One issue I had was the owner or manager sort of jokingly threatened to kick us out because my wife said damn. He then went on to reiterate the store policy again after she apologized. It was just an awkward exchange, especially given the very adult subject matter of the games sold there. I get that they have to keep things PG because kids may be present, but the word damn is pretty non offensive. Ive never had any other issues with him, but I thought I should mention it. If its a company policy, it should probably be reevaluated to include some nuance.

Terrible customer service from burnt out staff member. Was yelled at while discussing feedback in test models of the new paint system with another painter watched and other customers be scolded like bad children in a movie by the manager for spilling paint. I have never been treated so poorly in any store, but especially a family hobby shop. I was yelled at and made to feel threatened. I am glad I did not have my children with me as I have before, because if they had spilled paint or made a comment on a model I fear how they would have been treated it felt after his explosion. With so many other businesses that sell these products at a lower price, a friendly environment would be the only reason to want to frequent this store. Sadly that is not provided.

TL;DR - Manager (Ryan) is a lil tyrant, ruined our first Warhammer experience.Dont waste your time, avoid this location if you want better than terrible customer service.---If you have a shred of self respect, dont waste your time here. I visited with my gf this last weekend and while Im still willing to give the Warhammer 40k hobby a try, this first impression permanently ruined Warhammer for her.Without being consulted on what we wanted to learn about in Warhammer 40k, Ryan immediately sat us down to do a figurine painting tutorial.Ryan is the least professional manager that Ive ever come across.- At the beginning of the tutorial, he interrupted my simple questions about 40k lore and different model types that I wanted answered before moving ahead.- I was referred to as Woah, killer and told to stop touching things for handling tools and parts I was already familiar with - Ive had several years of experience building models just like these.- When I pulled out a pocket knife with a utility blade to clean up some parts, Ryan yelled, Put that away! That is a weapon!, as if I were a child. Reasoning with him didnt work, so I put it away - apparently there was a tool that Games Workshop wanted you to use specifically for this. Asking politely instead of barking orders would have worked wonders, even if Ryan doesnt have the foresight to give a brief overview of what the process is and what tools would be in use for each step - 4 or 5 total. Assuming Ryans tyrannical little heart still wants to dictate your every move, a simple wait for my cue and dont touch things until I say would have prevented every conflict here.- Ryan has zero awareness personal space - he mouth-breathed inches from our ears and dripped sweat onto my gfs paint paper.- Ryan exercised textbook-definition man-splaining at every step of this tutorial. Breathtaking. This is aside from other rude interactions we overheard with customers and high-pressure sales tactics to get you to buy.Best of luck.
