The garage at my rental in Bethesda was broken. I called the night before and got a quick call back the next morning. Service man came at noon, called to tell me it needed both spring and cable replacements and will cost $375. When the invoice came, it was $475. When I talked with their office, they claimed he replaced spring, cable, and drums that he didn’t tell me. My good tenant, who has been living there for 5yrs insisted the spring was the only thing that was replaced. We just took pictures of my beat up cable as evidence.Update, I talked with the technician. He claimed he “oiled” the parts and serviced it. My tenant said he changed springs and left, never serviced other parts. In and out 25min. tops. Better yet, the neighbor across the street is a federal agent and had a video facing our garage that captured the entire process. Capital Garage is offering to finish the work he claimed he did. Then the other technician called 30min before the job that their van broke down. Either I just ran into bad luck or they have some serious problems going on!

September 19th and almost all business are opened back up from the pandemic.Called this morning to schedule an appointment for the garage door of my rental property. Talked to a receptionist named Christy. She asks if I’m a new customer or returning customer, and I answer new customer.“I’m sorry, due to COVID19 we are only servicing returning customers”Keep in mind this is a garage door company, can easily have no contact service...I am a small business owner myself and Have been offering no contact service since the beginning of the pandemic, just like 99% of other business.If you’re a new customer, stay away. They clearly don’t need new customers hah!

Their staff was great in helping me understand the different types of garage doors which were available and what those differences mean. Two single car garage doors, tracks, and openers replaced in a single day of work, with no mess left behind. Sean the estimator arrived on time, and worked with me on getting me exactly what I wanted. The doors are beautiful, the install is tight, the openers (LiftMaster 8500) are as quiet as advertised. Theses are great folks. Tony arrived on time and got right to work. After he completed the installation he policed the area (cleaned up) and left it cleaner than when he arrived. He also even programmed our cars so we can open the garage door from the car.

All I can say is, wow!My wife and I heard a loud bang and assumed it was another occasional branch hitting the house. Not this time, one of the springs had broken on the garage door frame. This was discovered after trying to activate it and getting the error message on the display for excessive force. Once I saw the problem and realized that I could not fix it myself, I called Capital Garage Works.It was after hours and their answering service sent the message to them. Sean called me back less than 30 minutes later. He installed the garage door opener but not the door itself which is over 20 years old. We set up a time for him to come out the next day.Tony called me from Capital and told me that Sean assigned the job to him. He said that he could come in the next 30 minutes which was an hour before my appointment. He was sure that he could finish the job in 30 minutes so I told him to come. After arriving less than 30 minutes later, Tony assessed the job and gave me 3 options to remedy the situation. I told him to replace both springs, pulleys and cables. He did that and more, he lubricated the system and ensured the proper working once again in less than 35 minutes!There price was fair to me and they gave me a 10% discount that never expired from when I had the opener installed!I would heartily recommend Capital Garage Works to anyone without reservation.

I initially called to fix a broken spring, they showed up within an hour! In Waldorf. I was planning on getting a new garage door and opener in the next 30 days anyway, so we discussed it. They seemed to have decent pricing so I went with it, they were on time and professional. They gave me a nice walk through after the installation. I would recommend using them. I got an insulated door with wifi opener. They replaced all the old hardware and added matching trim.

I used Potomac Garage Solutions to install a new floor and Gladiator storage system in our garage. Our garage looks amazing and the installers were friendly, professional and did an excellent job. I have one big complaint. I discussed in depth with our rep, Jeff, the importance of shoe racks for our family of five. This was left off the order form and my representative will not honor the many discussions about our organization needs. He described the shoe racks, where they would be installed and how many he would bring. The placement and installation of shelving for shoes was discussed in detail so it is perplexing ( and a little shady) how this was not part of our solution and was accidentally left off. It is a shame the job ended this way because our garage is wonderful, organized and we love everything. I am disappointed that his error on the order form, with such an easy resolution, did not turn out differently. Our rep seriously expects us to pay more for an already EXPENSIVE job that is incomplete.

Car Lifts not their forte, you may be better off to find a real pro if you are looking for a car lift. I wanted two car lifts installed in my garage, salesperson did not measure my garage to see if they would fit, even though I asked him twice if he needed a tape measure. Did not check the electrical service to see if existing electrical was adequate, and did not ask me what vehicles I would be lifting to make sure wheelbase of vehicles would work on the lift he was selling me. Needless to say, only one of the two lifts fit, I had substantial additional costs to run electrical, and only one of my my three cars actually fits on the lift. And the lift itself, no actual manufacturers plate with model and serial number, Im sure it came from China, I sure hope the steel and welds hold! Equipment of this magnitude should always have manufacturers plate with model number, serial number and manufacturer. The only saving grace, field guys are super nice and seem pretty good, office manager very responsive to inquiries.

This company is a fraud! We were quoted a price and time line for a job in which they were to do flooring and a car lift in our garage. We were told that the installation would take 3-5 days. We also agreed that we would make the initial payment via credit card and remaining payments in cash. It has now been a month and the job has not been completed. I have attempted to contact the owner with whom came out for the initial meeting and he has been non-responsive. The company also charged our credit card for an additional payment without authorization and unbeknownst to us. The owner came and collected what we thought was the 2nd pymt, but was actually the final payment. So this company has now been pd in full and the job is not complete a month later and they have been non-responsive to communication.

Hello, my name is Joel . I purchased in Oct of 2016 and Dec of 2016 Two Single post car lifts from Potomac Garage Solutions in Miami FL. From Hector and David.Customer service sucks, they owe me more than $2000.oo in credits from flooring paint that was a distaster, they destroyed my 2 garage doors, they tried to install a Hi Lift kit for the doors and they just dont know how to install any of that. They dont know what they are doing. These guys will ruin your reputation, which personally I know through a friend of mine Mike Janoura who is your client for more than 10 years ago and he recommended your company.In my case the lifts came scratched, missing bolts, they claimed those were American lifts and found out they are made in china. I hold you company responsible for any damage or more disaster that this might cause. I have tried to reach the central office of Potomac Garage Solutions with NO luck !!! No one has contacted me back, no one has stepped up to handle customer service.I have called Hector to the phone number shown on your website for more than a month and he has never called back.Please let me know which way to proceed.Thank you in advance for your prompt attention to this matter.JoelPS: I can certainly give a lot more details of these individuals, who have no idea what they are doing.THEY JUST SIMPLY SUCK !!!!
