I live in NYC, got stranded in Marlyand when my bike wouldnt start, had it towed to this shop in the middle of the night and they got to work immediately assessing the problem first thing in the morning. Fortunately, it was an easy and quick fix, they had it up and running the very same day - extremely positive experience! Amanda and her team are true professionals, charging a fair price and actually caring about their customers. Im happy to recommend them, particularly to other female riders, you can feel the good vibes there!

Ive been here twice and both times they went a step further than they needed to in getting my bike back on the road. Theyre genuinely good people and they will take care of you and your ride. 5 stars all day.

If I could give more than 5 stars I would. I had a new front and rear Baron power pulley installed and it was done in less than a day. Amanda is super cool and there to help with anything you need. They can beat the price of most parts if even by just a few bucks. They have a nice little back shop with helmets, gloves and jackets got myself a fly mesh jacket for a great price. Would totally recommend them and will for sure be going back.

Fair pricing, reasonable turnaround and a mechanic you can talk to!What you dont get: a huge boutique full of lifestyle merchandise, list prices and noisy events.Amanda and Scott will listen to you, discuss any products or procedures your research may have turned up, and stay with their estimate.So far they have replaced two tires, inner tubes, mount, balance and replace two sets of brake pads for about what a local multibrand dealer was going to charge for tires and mounting alone - on second thought, probably less than!Also, when I had earlier taken my Goldwing somewhere else because I thought there was a surge or wobble in the front end, they brushed me off. So my wife and I rode to Pittsburgh for a weekend. By the ride home it became unmistakable and I was fearful of a tank-slapper on a half ton of bike, gear and riders!Scott and I had an excellent discussion of what was happening and what to do about it. The upshot is going to be a major fork, steering bearing and overall suspension upgrade, and I am confident that I will still be able to afford to put gas in the tank afterwards!Followup on the front end:Wobble gone, and the handling improved noticeably!Removing - and replacing - all of the Tupperware to access the wheel bearings was the expensive part of accessing the steering bearings. Scotts additional time to also upgrade the forks and place the shiny fork brace in the photo was kept to a minimum, and the job was done right, in a timely manner and within the estimate.If theres anything else you want from a motorcycle mechanic, I dont know what it is!

Took my 2020 ZX14r for clutch cable and they said it shifted close to normal but they test drove and bleed the clutch line. He got a few bubbles out but nothing to write home about. Gave good advice and awesome conversations. I asked what my bill was and they said nothing for hour out of there day. Thanks for an awesome experience with fellow cyclists.Danny

Here I go thinking my bike was done due to another shop telling me that they believe my bike is toast because it is running hot and spitting out oil.The other shop said that I may have a cracked head and they dont have the time to work on the bike. So I did some research on the internet and I came across AK Cycles. I went to talk to them first and I told them my issue and they said that they will take a look at the bike and I said OK in fact they came and picked the bike up. Now I am just waiting to here the bad news. Now after a week, Scott/Amanda called and told me the news, and they stated that the bikes engine is OK and after I got the news from them I WAS totally ECSTATIC. I didnt have to go and by another bike. Scott and Amanda explained to me what they did to fix the issue and now the bike is running strong. No more leaks and no more over heating. This is my testimonial for the incredible suspension work performed by Ak Cycles, LLC.After a track day on my 2014, Kawasaki ZX-10, I recognized terrible rear tire wear.I had Ak Cycles check it out and later made some adjustments to my front preload and rear shock sag. My bike feels impressive after a subsequent track day. The whole suspension adjustment process was one of several repeated steps of on/ off the bike, bouncing up/ down, shift weight to the front/ rears, etc., as adjustments were being made.I get it now.Thank you so much. My bike absorbs bumps so much better, and my lines are very tight with far less flexibility as the bike suspension is doing precisely what it is designed to be but adjusted to my weight and riding style.I returned to the shop to show off the new improved tire wear. I needed to get a back tire installed, and worried about where because Ducatis have a unique set up. AK was able to get me in quick, and during the Covid pandemic, that means a lot. Just picked up my gsxr today from having tires put on it. When they originally tried to take the front tire off, the front axle was stripped. I left it there to be repaired, and it was a quick turn around. As soon as the part came it was on the bike and ready to be picked up. I do the work I can on my bikes myself l, but for what I can’t do I will definitely be a returning customer.

Friendly, honest, and thoroughI brought my bike in after it was stolen, dumped, and recovered. AK Cycles was very thorough in assessing damage, catching very minor things that Id missed (e.g., handlebars bent the barest fraction of an inch out of whack).Its a small shop, so they work by appointment. During the repair process, they were flexible and accommodating, working around my schedule to make pickups, drop offs, and checkins easy, and coordinating with the insurance agent.Im very happy with the quality of work. Excellent attention to detail on little things like adjusting cable tensions, cleaning the chain, etc. They were easy to communicate with through the whole process, and friendly from the start.Big thanks to AK for their work! Theyll definitely be seeing me again (under better circumstances!).

Scott Kelley of AK Cycles was recommended by a local poster on the FJ-09 list forum. My local Yamaha dealer had closed shop and AK Cycles was nearby in Gaithersburg. Scott performed an 8,000-mile service on my 2016 FJ-09, together with installing a new set of tires. He did a great job at a terrific price and then helped adjust my suspension as I was leaving. Turned out hed worked at the Yamaha dealer before they closed! Highly recommended!
