Its great that we have a thrift store but the prices keep going up too much on the clothes especially. I think if they are going to charge that much at least they could do is put the sizes on the price tag. Im sure people would buy more if they put the sizes on the womens pants, they have so many they need sizes marked on them. They raised the prices on mens dress shirts which is ok but if it old cheap and worn then it should be a lot less. I think everything should be sized like they do at Goodwill. Ive read a few other reviews about some employees being rude and its true I had one cashier woman be very rude one time for no reason at all it was weird. Most the time I think most of the employees are fine it was just that one.
I made my last visit to the thrift store the other day. The prices rival new prices at area stores and that coupled with the rudeness of the staff are not worth the effort. A fellow shopper seeking to purchase a damaged table and chairs and and sought out the manager to offer a price that, in all reality, was still too high, stated she did so to help the community out. This lady waited patiently while the manager had to get permission. She explained that her vehicle wouldnt accomodate the set and asked the manager if her friend could pick it up in a few minutes. She said yes. Then the cashier, who rings up as Jo,; argued with her over the pre-approved arrangements. Two other customers and I stood and shook our heads. Then the stock boy came out to get the items and was pretty vocal about what he was and wasnt doing regarding the loading. All in all, a bad experience.
My first time here and I doubt I will be back. I just looked through the dresses and found 2 that liked, one was from Target the other was from Kohls, both was pruce jacked to $13. No thank you, I can go shop clearance and pay less than that!!
They have a nice array of items but the prices are way too high. Saw some Easter eggs originally priced $1.98 and they had a tag for $2.99. Overall you can buy things brand new for the same price.
I am disappointed. After the months that they were closed I expected some treasures. NO TREASURES, in fact, nothing good.
Always smells funny.
Worst place to shop. The workers are very RUDE!!!! I have been in that store 2 times and got treated like garbage both times. I wont shop there anymore or donate anything!!!!
The prices are too high on most things especially the old out dated dirty furniture. The dressing rooms need to be swept and the mirrors cleaned. They would move things through there much quicker if the manager would lower the prices its all donated for free.
Easy to find great prices and really friendly customer service always someone there to help you out and a pretty good selection. probably the only complaint I have is the only thing that they cant help which is more baby boy clothes but thats anywhere :(
I rarely have time to spend here. I dont have the time or patience to try and find the sizes I need. All sizes are mixed up and your jeans and blouses are a nightmare to find a size. I usually end up at Goodwill where I can go directly to the section of sizes I need. You really need some organization in your store. Plus the price stickers on your books ruin the covers when you try to remove them. You need different stickers. BUT I appreciate that you finally stopped stapling your price tags to clothing which not only snagged the clothing, but I was scratched by one of those staples. So at least that is an improvement.
One of the highest priced thrift stores I’ve ever seen.
Many things are priced too high. I noticed they actually raised the prices on a lot of things I wonder who decides what the prices are going to be? I think if something has holes and stains on it then it should be priced lower or if the garment is faded and wore out. Lower the prices!
Went in and was going to buy a winter coat because I dont have one. The price tag had some how fallen off and I could t buy it because they had to reprice it. So you mean to tell me it takes you guys over 24 hours to make up another price for something you had already made up a price for. NEVER GOING BACK
Love this store. Fast and friendly service! Two-three visits per month...Im a loyal customer!!
This store doesn’t have anything anymore & it’s not for lack of people donating, it’s because the employees get first pick & take everything good before it hits the actual store.
Friendly, helpful staff! Great selection of items! Keep an eye out for the tag sales!
Furniture prices are not for people that are less fortunate to be able to afford. Even when they have half off it is still too high compared to other salvation army thrift stores. Staff is very friendly.
Excellent clean store. Great deals and a great staff. Well stocked, fast and friendly service.
Treat you with respect. Well maintained. Large selection. Always new merchandise. The clothing is clean and ready to wear.
Getting very high on prices need to have section just for ALL plus sizes not spread out
Horribly managed and prices just keep going up! New items priced higher than retailers and broken used stuff waaaay over priced.
The staff seems fine but Ive heard the female manager berate workers a few times. It was a big turnoff. You can get good deals here.
The store does its very best. Its TEAM WORK!
Good deals, some may seem pricey but they do buy new items for resale as well
Simply overpriced. The thrift stores were designed to be a store for the poor to shop at, and to buy used items at a low cost. The salvation army here has decided to turn into a pawn shop. They charge ridiculous prices for items, and even put $2 tags on items that were from a dollar store. It is very hard to get any help to look at anything in their cases, the help is very unfriendly. Most of their employees get 1st pick at anything nice, so all that is left is overpriced garbage. They need to change their sign from Thrift Store to Pawn Shop.
I think the prices are way too high on most of the furniture there have been many times Ive seen trashy stained furniture that I wouldnt take for free off a curb but someone there puts ridiculous high prices on it. I wonder where all that money goes? They raised the prices on the stuffed animals a few months back and most the time they dont make sense I swear they dont even look at them when they are deciding the price Ive seen duplicates of same stuffed animal each a different price. I wish they would put the sizes on the womens pants. They put the sizes on the mens pants for awhile then raised the prices lol. I wonder why they go through so many different cashiers so quickly hmmm maybe they dont get treated right there, Ive heard about the manager yelling and being very disrespectful to employees maybe they need a new manager. About 2 yrs a go I was shopping there and could hear the manager raising her voice to a group of newly hired employees sounding very rude for no reason.
Where can you go and see the store manager bagging and greating customers, galesburg THATS WHERE, awesome store, great staff, glad I stopped in, had a wonderful cashier, her name was Rose
They are very nice. They have people that ask if you need help with anything..
Shopped there Tuesday, store had lots of merchandise. Great choices, very organized, enjoyed my visit and will return.
Went there they were having 30 percent off that day. Bought some nice things and an even better price
Clean and organized. Great staff!!
There was NOTHING to like about this store. Whoever is in charge of organizing the apparel obviously has no clue on reality and leaves one to assume they live in constant disarray. Childrens for instance, 1st they assume all sizes should be combined from newborn to sz14 big kid. So if you want something newborn-12m be prepared to skim through 3 different aisles, big kids, both boys and girls & so on. Worse! If you go in for a sleeper youll be in the same situation, 3 different aisles, all sizes, all sorts, and so on. Someone needs to fire whoever is in charge and help this store... QUICK! I HAPPILY walked out without spending a dime and am now on my way to goodwill! Shame on this stores manager!
The employees are fast friendly and theyre stablish meant was very clean
The store is huge with lots to choose from. Always has a very nice and helpful staff.
Talk about some high prices on used goods. $7.50 for a sweatshirt? $8.00 for a sweater? I can buy brand new clothing/footwear at Dillards in Moline cheaper than this store!
Small but lots of stuff and reasonable prices.
You can always find some good bargins at Salvation Army
Good deals, and the staff was very helpful.
Fine shopping on Mondays, low traffic in store
Prices are too high!
Lovely friendly great bargains.
The prices here are not a bargain AT ALL. One might as well buy things new.
Nice clean store priced.
Lots of stuff to choose from, but prices are too high in my opinion and the clothing organization needs to be revamped so you can find the size youre looking for.
You can find just about everything here, but some items are pricey.
Good Times!
