Came here for breakfast; we ordered French toast and an omelette. The service was super fast and we were in and out within 30 minutes. This is one of my favorite French toasts Ive had over the years!! Fluffy, but not too thick, with an even coating and flavorful crust. I would definitely recommend it. The scrambled eggs on the side were also great. The omelette was decent, though definitely outshined by the toast. Their pancakes were also pretty good!One thing to note: this is not the most apolitical establishment. There are a few decorative signs around that might make some people uncomfy.
With Covid and everything you would think they would understand. But if you walk in with a mask on expect to wait an 5-10 before anyone even hands you a menu. While others who walked in after us got menus right away.The breakfast menu says in house only. But I guess that only applies to locals. As a local had breakfast to-go. This was my first dine in experience since Covid started. It was horrible. They have no ventilation or open windows. I have come to the dinner since they first opened too. They also no longer have fry sauce.The breakfast portions are huge, fair priced on that too. I would suggest them if they were not so prejudiced against people wearing masks.*I disagree with their reply because a large woman with rainbow glasses made eye contact with us at least three times when we came in. We even sat down and still had to wait a very long time. There where two people at the reserved bar for to-go orders(an old man in overalls and a woman in a sun dress with tattoos all over her body). The woman with rainbow glasses wasn’t doing anything until the next group of people came in after us. She then offered them menus.Your establishment IS prejudiced against people in masks.If your to-go option has been around for a year for breakfast, why not use a sharpie and mark out the words on the laminated menus saying that to-go is now an option. Rubbing alcohol takes sharpie off… I did check the window at our table, it was a sold window. It’s wasn’t a slider. There was NO ventilation at all! It was stuffy.
Food is good, but not for the wait. We were told when we arrived “it would prob ably be best to place a to-go order, but it would take a while.” By the little Asian girl that needs help with organization and seeing as well - since there were two tables customers had just left and only needed to be cleaned off. She reluctantly did so. Finally got to order our food 20 minutes later only to wait another 30 for ME to have to go ask her for our cups. It took over an hour to get 3 burgers out in a restaurant that was at 50-60% capacity.
They made an amazing burger! Great flavor and the single was huge. They have burgers and a coffee other things like chicken strips. If you are looking for a burger go here.
Best little Diner in Alaska! Well worth the trip to Valdez! The staff is phenomenal and the food is fast and good! Great little business that gives back to their community. Sponsors many community teams..Try it, you wont regret it!!
Love the DIY aesthetic of this place. You want coffee, soda, or condiments; get it yourself. The food is great as well, especially the curly fries.
The food is good, if you can get in when they have any. When theres a line of people wanting breakfast 5 days a week and all you can say is were out of food, seems like thats a pattern that can pretty easily be fixed.
Waited patiently an hour after ordering (it was slow when we arrived), finally got up and asked what was going on because she never came back, just to be told our ticket of 3 orders blew off the holder in the wind, but also Set aside ?? because ONE of the plates couldnt be made, so I guess the whole ticket got thrown out. My order is changed to fix it, then 30 minutes go by and we are finally told our food is JUST NOW being started after we watched at least 2 older tables get served. We paid for our coffees and walked out.
Went there for lunch. The atmosphere was very friendly. The young gentleman quickly gave us a table to sit at. I ordered the Teriyaki burger meal and my buddy ordered the Philly Cheese steak burger meal. Prices were pretty good for the amount of food you get. The burger was amazing!!! Grilled on a flattop to perfection! There was definitely nothing precooked or frozen about this burger. You could actually watch them make your burger! The fries were good too but the burger is where the money is at! Go here for burgers while in Valdez!
7:30AM, some diners eating in the restaurant. I walked in, the waitress ignored me. After some rounds of passing by me, she said to me they dont take any more orders. I was puzzled, its just the start of breakfast time, so I waited till her passed by me again and asked if I could buy a take-out. No, we dont take any more orders, said she. I am an Asian.
Menu is limited but burgers and fries taste great. You will need to help yourself with drink, utensils and ketchup sauce et al. Southwestern Burger is my favorite, with sweet and smoky BBQ sauce.

Small diner with a good vibe. Ordered their cheeseburger and it was delicious. They also have curly fries!! Food came fast to us. You fill up your own drink from the soda machine so no waiting on the waitress to get to it.
Great hand made juicy burgers. They had no fresh seafood when I was there but the burgers and fries are great! Dont order a double pattie unless you are really hungry.
So good! The food is fresh and the flavors have so much depth and layers you can taste it all with every bite. The fries are made fresh to order and the sandwiches are big and filling. Clean and good staff. I cant say enough about how yummy everything was!! (My picture is only half of my sandwich and the basket is full of fries).

There’s a reason this place consistently ranks at the top of the list for places to eat in Valdez — it’s that good. Hot food. Friendly and fast service. Tasty options. We sampled the Halibut and Chips (a nice surprise to find them battered in a Panko crust), a basic cheeseburger and the Southwest burger. All were delish. But topping them all were the curly fries, which we found completely addicting. Valdez isn’t ripe with great food options, but this one you will enjoy.

I had the mushroom bacon burger. It was big, juicy, delicious, fresh, and filling. The curly fries were seasoned great and piping hot!

First time Ive been in town and first stopped here and ended up trying to go to Mikes palace. Wrong move. Idk what up with their menu but its ALL over the place. Ended up going back to old town burgers. Long story short pretty damn good burgers. Good service and excellent price for Valdez! I would 100% recommend this place burgers are juicy toppings are fresh fries are even on point. Keep it up guys!

Best burger I’ve ever had! I live in Arizona, and have been to Valdez twice for work. This was my favorite place to go with my coworkers. I wish I could take my whole family there.

Id say this diner is a 3.5+, definitely a great place to get lunch if in Valdez. I had mushroom bacon burger, very good and plenty big. Curly fries were decent and they get bonus points for having fry sauce ( Im fairly easy to satisfy).

The burgers were delicious 😋! My family and I only stayed for two days and we liked the burgers so much, we went back the second day!
The best part? You dont get harassed by choosing to not wear a mask. They trust you to make your own wise decision.

I would have given it a 5 star because every time we have come here we always had a pleasant experience. Their burgers are one of the best I have eaten. Todays experience changed my view on them. The cook seemed very upset and shaking his head in disgust at me when I walked in to pick up my order (I was the only one in there and only person to walk through the door). Usually when I have a bad experience it changes the way I percieve them as a whole and I really dont want to go back there again and give them my hard earned money.

I absolutely love this place! Delicious, fresh burgers and the most amazing hand cut fries. Dont forget to try their fry sauce- yummy! Awesome and friendly staff as well. You wont be disappointed.
Easy walk from the Eagles Rest campground. The food is always fresh and delicious, nothing is premade. They can run out of certain things at times, like salad mix, etc, which is to be expected especially after a busy week. The supplies come from Anchorage.The service is always good, and the fries are killer. Get a halibut sandwich, you wont regret it.

The burgers were just fantastic! The price was good compared to every other place in town at $11. Our curly fries looked like they were unfortunately just what was left over. We were very saddened by our fries which we believe would have been good and one pays an additional $5 for fries and a drink. Huge sad face for us. The ketchup was empty. The place is cute.

Well, the prices and menu on the google search DO NOT match the actual prices and menu in person. HOWEVER, I was amazed and completely satisfied with the end result....AN AMAZING MEAL! I got the double deluxe cheeseburger meal and a single deluxe cheeseburger on the side. The taste, the smell, and the feel of the mighty burger in your hands...hands down best burger I’ve had in Alaska. The double cheeseburger needed more extras (pickle, cheese, lettuce, etc.) because of the amount of meat (lol). The curly fries were a bit soggy cause of the COVID-19 take out issue, but the seasoning was on point! I try this place once a year on vacation and I’ve never been let down other than the fact they don’t have the Philly cheesesteak anymore!Overall, very happy with my visit and hope there are many more to come!

Great burger spot in Valdez. Burgers are cooked to order, flavorful and juicy. Fries are fantastic. Straight or curley are both equally great. Atmosphere is energetic and staff is attentive and quick. When busy its busy it can slow down, but worth any wait. They do to go orders as well.

The young lady serving us was kind and upbeat. Food was delicious. From the county of NC and the food was more country then ours! Come hungry it will fill you up.
Prawns and grilled halibut were fabulous. Burgers and fries were great also. Great quality food, non-seafood items did not taste like seafood, staff was friendly. Seafood chef was a perfectionist, made sure everything was just how we liked it. Large windows. Great experience.

Awesome little place with wonderful burgers and amazing fish and chips. Their fish tacos are great too. My wife and I stopped there while we were visiting Valdez and really enjoyed the food and had to dine there one more time before we left. Its definitely worth checking out if your going to Valdez. And Their prices are totally worth the price after you see how much you get. And dont let me forget to mention the friendly service too!

I am a local and I used to absolutely love OTB. Then they changed owners and the places has gone down hill! I get a mini burger meal 10/10 times. Almost 7/10 times they do not have Hawaiian rolls. One time i had my husband go buy Hawaiian rolls so that my pregnant self can have these mini burger, to which they still charged us full price. The day that they opened back up, I had been wanting a crispy chicken salad, we went there and it was going to be an hour wait. We left. We decided to try one more time. I called in an order for pick up. My husband went in there to pick it up. He was charged for an order that wasn’t ours waited 20 mins and then they told him they do not have an order under his or my name. My husband had to ask for a refund/money back. At first they were not going to do that!
This place dishes out some of the best burgers that Ive ever had. I have never come away disappointed or hungry. Theres just one problem, Ive never had a good experience with their curly fries. Everything else is delicious.
This is one of my favorite places to eat in Valdez. In the summer, they have freshly caught fish, perfectly fried chicken, and burgers to die for. Want Fish tacos? They got it.

By far the best value and taste of any omelette meal ever. 2 pancakes, tons of excellent hash browns, giant omelette with all the fillings you want (seriously, you can choose anything on the list... Cheese, sausage, bacon, opinion...) all for $11.25. Beware though, lunch is a different story, with cost and value no where near the same.

They were out if lots of items like the Hawaiian Rolls. Also their fish cook wasnt there so couldnt order any type of seafood. Ordered chicken tenders basket. Tenders were good, but they only offer two sauces: barbeque or ranch, so not much variety. Staff was nice, but somewhat condescending. This was our second try to get their great breakfasts, but alas we were too late. Food was good, but nothing to rave about; staff were nice but not overly friendly.
Some of the best burgers I had in Alaska are here in Valdez at this small restaurant. Generous portions, delicious burgers and choice of curly or straight cut fries. Also try their hearty breakfast.
