It would be cool if theyd update the hours online more frequently since they change them all the time apparently....Says 8pm close, but really its 630pm now!I could have stopped on my way home, wanted to keep my money local so I didnt stop... now I get to go back into town. Thanks guys🤦‍♂️

Im a handyman, and I was doing a job in Galt today. As is often the case, I needed some hardware, and Ace was the closest store. Man, was I pleased! Not only did they have what I needed, but an actual human employee helped me find what I needed. Their selection on plumbing, hardware, wiring, etc was extensive and well organized. I live in Elk Grove, and there are no longer any proper hardware stores in town, so Im going to start driving to Galt to go to Ace.

Place looks good with the new expansion. Has your basics hardware needs. If your home needs it or you want it, I recommend swinging by before going to the big stores.

I had quite a list of sprinkler pieces I needed and I was pleasantly surprised that they had everything on my list. In addition they gave me 10% off for being a veteran. I will definitely be going back!!

Im so glad they finally gave the store a face lift. Its so much easier to find things now. Everyone is pretty helpful when you have questions or need help finding something particular and they always have the odd sized bolts and screws we need for things.

I’ve been coming here for 12 years. The employee turnover rate has climbed but even still, one can get more help here than any other big box store. It’s more expensive but time is money and I understand that I am paying for convenience. Although, they NEED to expand their hardware more like the Lodi store.

I just moved to the rural area and the closest Ace is at Galt, so I had been in there to pick up items here and there, the associates working there are helpful.I went in today at 5:06 and there was a worker holding the door open for customers and I walked up to the door, she immediately yelled at me “ we are closed “ I checked their hours and it said 6:30.. I walked back to the door and asked them to be nice to customers if they are closing an hour and half early. We as the customers are not psychic and so if we spent 15 mins one way driving to your store and you want to close earlier than normal hours than you need to be kind and not yell at them like they are little kids or that we had done something wrong.. I am disappointed in that associates behavior and lack of customers service..

Ace hardware has just about anything u need. Except dishwashers that come in blond, they dont have any of those.

I absolutely love this place. I probably come here alot more than I should. The staff is very knowledgeable, I remember asking one of the associates about my faucet and he asked what part of town do I live in, and thats all he needed to know exactly what I was looking for. Thanks guys!

Granted, they are going through a remodel at the moment, which has limited some inventory, but the team there works hard to make sure their customers find what they are looking for.

This place is a small hardware store. Usually real difficult to find what you need. They have been remodeling the store for 6 months now and still not complete.

Customer service is very good. But the pricing is 30% higher than the big box stores. Definitely worth the cost when you need an item.

This Ace is awesome. Great staff that is friendly and eager to help. Good selection of products here as well. Prices are a little high but there is that convenience factor. I dont mind as they are a local business and I like to keep my money local.

Friendly and knowledgeable staff, clean, well stocked, with reasonable prices. They dont have the variety of a Home Depot or a Lowes but they are surprisingly close and theyre my go to for every day repairs as well as medium sized projects. This is one of the better businesses in town.

The employees are VERY helpful. As soon as you walk in they ask you what they can help you with. Nice little store but they have everything you want.

Great help, nice folks, convenient with a big parking lot. Could improve handicap parking accessibility though the store has taken huge strides to comply.

They closed at 7:00 PM despite the website saying open until 8:00. I drove from Wilton, arrived at 7:09 to pick up my order already paid for, and they refused to bring out my one small item. Really, really bad customer service. I would advise not patronizing this place.

Friendly service and always seem to have what I need despite the store being so much smaller than the big boys.

Small store. Understandably quite cramped as theyre trying to stock everything you might need. Staff is generally pleasant and helpful. Often greet you at the door and ask what they can help you find. Significantly more expensive than big box stores, of course, but thats to be expected.

This place so far has had everything Ive come in for. Theyre a little more than the big orange store but theyre also 20 minutes closer pand nearly an hour round trip, so if your time is money and your list isnt too long, its not a bad choice. The employees that have helped me have all been great and very attentive and the place is set up well for how small it is.

Go too place in Galt

Terrible customer service. Online said store closed at 8. In store they said they closed at 6:30. I walked in at 6:17 and the workers already had shut down the shop. Nobody was willing to help. They were either talking to each other by the register or smoking out side the store. Very disappointing experience.

Excellent help on the floor. Syd was super helpful and made sure i got everything i need for my project and a few things i didnt think about.

The checker was very polite.

I like having an Ace near by. They dont always have what youre looking for.

Hands down the worst ACE hardware in Northern California. Every time I decide to give the place another try, I’m reminded the management there somehow found a way to hire the most lazy incompetent individuals known to the South Sacramento county. Honestly I’m surprised they manage to stay in business.

I love shopping here. Always staffed with enough employees to be able to offer assistance. Not just what aisle but take you there and answer questions. Refreshing change from the big box stores and conveniently located.

This place is like the neighborhood hardware store I often visited with my father as a child.. The service is beyond anything you can get at a big chain. The employees are very knowledgeable and helpful, and have a very good handle on all the inventory. Id give it 6 stars if I could.

Good old fashioned hardware store. Prices higher than big box stores, but dont have to drive 15 miles. Nice place to shop.

Cool little shop if you need one extra piece but I wouldnt shop for a whole project here I have found items to be sometimes twice as expensive as homedepot

Pretty darn good hardware store. They even carry chrome fasteners that are really hard (if not impossible) to find in most stores. The service is really good. Most times when Im in the store I am asked multiple times if I can be helped. They carry all the basic stuff and then some. Open late on the weekends which is really helpful.

Very limited because of the renovation

The directions were great. The only problem I had was the map was very late zooming in on my street I needed to turn on and I past it a few times. It made me U turn a lot.

Knowledgeable staff that can help you get the right parts for almost any job that you are working on. The store is very well staffed, so you can always find someone to ask where something is, and they will take the time to show you, and answer any questions or concerns that you have about the project that you are working on.

This place is almost tiny. But theybgreet you immediately asking you what youre after then someone practically joins you at the hip trying to help you. On numerous occasions Ive had them point me to a bigger chain because they do have a rather sparse selection and inventory.

As this is really the only place in Galt to pick up what I would consider unique hardware items....... I find myself going here when I dont want to make the trip to Elk Grove or Lodi to the big box stores. The Galt Walmart does have some of the items that Ace has, but if you need an emergency repair on something, Ace is the place.

I don’t want to go to the big box store. I want to keep my money local. I can’t do this when they are constantly closing before listed hours. I’ve gone 3 times in the last couple months and they were closed a minimum of 30 minutes early each time.
