Hands down, this is my favorite store in Texas. There is a mix of new and salvaged items, which I found fascinating. Im one of those people that thinks everything tells a story, so as I walked through this store I was overwhelmed with the possibilities. I was very happy to hear they had a website--I cant wait to follow the store owners journey as they travel the world to find more ship pieces to put in this shop.
I found this company when I was doing to google searches for nautical decor for our new beach condo in Florida. I wanted some glass floats and preferred to find some that were actually used and not brand new ones, and that’s when I came across this store through piece of ship.com. I was fascinated to see the amount of unique items they have available. My spouse’s family is from Italy so I was happy to come across a brass ship plate from an Italian made ship that was completed the year my spouse was born. This item was the perfect and a unique gift for a birthday present. My spouse loved it!! I don’t live nearby so I was afraid of the shipping costs for the glass floats and the heavy brass plate, but it was very affordable, arrived timely, and was packaged well. The customer service from start to finish was great! I recommend doing business with them and I will be looking closely at the site to see the new items they find during their next ship hunts!
I make special trips to Galveston to shop in the store. The people who own and operated are wonderful. The products are changing frequently. And they very clearly Mark what is a salvage item and what is a new item. And these are not grave robbers. They get their products from salvage operations not diving operations. And if you need cleats they have them. Stainless and brass.
Knowledgeable staff and really awesome REAL merchandise. You can feel the history behind each item. Its wonderful. You never know what your gonna see around the next corner. This place is full of nautical delights for everyone. The prices are commensurate to the value of the items so its not cheap, but very reasonable.
One of the coolest places ever. Friendly staff and great items.
This store is the coolest. The owners do such an amazing job and Galveston is lucky to have them.
A must stop for all things nautical. I love the salvaged items they sell!
Great selection, reasonable prices friendly staff.
A very cool shop! Amazing items! Cool employees, willing to help you. Cool flags, and maps. Very cool port holes.
We finally got to visit the coolest shop in town, Nautical Antiques & Tropical Decor Galveston! This place is simply amazing a true hidden gem! The nautical decor is reasonably priced and super colorful! We picked up a life size pirate for our neighbor, 2 hanging sea horses for our folks and 3 coconut fish for The Chicken Shack! Absolutely can’t wait to go back and see what other unique treasures they have!
As much a museum as a shop. Extraordinary items. Friendly staff.
This store has some amazing nautical items. Lots of port windows and miscellaneous stuff had my “Do-it-yourself” juices going. Heading back for a reclaimed wood bench.
I came to the shop last Thursday about a week ago Searching for a nautical chandelier for my new home in Katy Texas. I came with my handicapped son that is non verbal and autistic. It was difficult It was difficult to park by the time we got there I was sure my son had to go to the bathroom and I couldnt figure out the parking app it wouldnt load I couldnt get Wi-Fi. So when we came in, I asked if they had a bathroom and he said no and I was kind of stressed because I had my son with me and but I bought about $350 of merchandise from them,a nautical chandelier and a plaque with hooks on it to hang keys. I paid cash. He explained( the proprietor I think his name is Steve) generally how to wire it up something about the outlet needed to be circumvented and that I should get an electrician. While I did get an electrician that did a lot of other things as well and I called for explanation and Steve told me to write an email so I did. And then he didnt really give me much instruction at all, nothing like what he had told me in the store. I then asked them if they could call my electrician and gave them his phone number but they never called my worker. So I called yesterday or this morning and he said that he would refund my money cause I know that their store policy is to just give you store credit which I would have gone for. And I was very nice to the guy. And so I drove up and he got the merchandise back and paid me back my money but then he said hes very uncomfortable to ask me this but he thinks I should shop elsewhere. This after I had just told them how much I like the shop and next time I come I wont have my son and I wont be in as much of a rush. And he said he wanted me to understand what he was saying, i.e. they dont want me coming there anymore! That i need a shop that can handle my questions! . What a punch in the stomach! That time when I was 1st there with my autistic son, i also asked the lady that was working there if we could use the bathroom under the circumstances, thinking that she might be sympathetic because of my disabled son and she gave me a very dim view when Steve ran up and said now weve already been over this I am sorry bed we had just made an hour and a 1/2 drive and there were no restrooms near the shop.I was made to feel like just awful. To be asked not tp teturn after being very cordial with them. I WOULD NOT SHOP HERE IF YOURE CONSIDERING IT, UNLESS YOU DONT CARE THAT YOUR BUSINESS IS NOT SINCERELY APPRECIATE!! BOI snobbery? This also borders on not allowing a handicapped person to come in which is against the law. But I am not going to trifle with these people. I just would not shop there. As Steve said I just want you to hear what Im saying after he asked me not to return. It is kind of sickening to me because I just got through telling him how much I like the shop and the smile from.mon my face became a look of shock on sure. What a way to treat a paying customer I spat with taxes really 380 Box. It and I was willing to take the store credit. But to make a customer feel like that driving away with their tail between their legs.
We visit here a few times every trip as they often have new treasures that require time to peruse. The owners are informed and helpful.
Fantastic atmosphere in here. All sorts of great nautical ephemera, from navigation charts to wood carvings and repurposed naval lights. A lot of inventory, so its slightly cramped, but still really neat.
This store is amazing! They have all kinds of ship salvage and nautical decor! They have been in business 20 years so they arent going anywhere! I can always find something that I have to have!
I felt like I was in a museum but everything was for sale. Fun to see everything from old ships.
Unbelievable collection of everything nautical! Great for commercial and residential decor! Dont miss this place!
Very cool place. Been twice.
My husband was so greatful we came on a motorcycle...other wise he would have went home broke!...Be Ill be BACK SOON!...
My suggestion is to leave your wallet in your car because after walking through this store for 5 minutes, you will want everything inside! Great store. I come back every few years.
While the items in the store are AMAZING, the service is less than desired. We drove from Wisconsin to pick up an awesome dive helmet, and I would have expected to be greeted warmly and for the item to be packaged for the journey home. Instead, the service I received was cold and uninviting. I also had to ask for the helmet to be boxed or at least wrapped. My suggestion to the shop keepers that if someone is still buying items from you during COVID-19, helping you to pay your bills, you might want to work on your customer service and at the very least exchange pleasantries. We could have spent more money at your store, however the service was not worth it. But again, the items are REALLY NEAT! If you can stomach the dryness and unwelcoming customer service, I know you will find something great to display!
First of all requiring you to spray some high alcohol content spray on your hands when entering the store was insane. Apparently the mask and sanitizer issue is behind times in Galveston. We are shopping and eating out in Fort Worth without all that BS. I can get a lot of that stuff in antique malls up here cheaper. The alcohol spray mediately dryed my hands and gave a burning sensation. Grow up sheeple and quit giving into the fear mongering.
Fascinating place and fun finds! Awesome staff!
Very cool store for anything nautical reusable salvage and decor
We had so much fun finding nautical treasures here! Great places for anyone who loves boats, etc.
Wow! This is one of the coolest shops I’ve ever been into. I believe you could decorate an entire house out of this wonderful store. Any and everything nautical and tropical you could ever want. And the prices are phenomenal. I really thought many of the items were under priced. Give yourself plenty of time in the store.
